  1. They can rescind the transition tag before Clay signs if it looks like no one will make an offer. But they want to force us to structure an unfriendly deal so they won't, yet.

You know in a way the tag may actually help the Bills. At the moment the tag discourages other teams from bidding on him because they don't want to have to structure a front loaded contract to get him so only the teams that REALLY REALLY want him will bid (Bills and maybe the Browns). If the Phins lift the tag then he becomes a UFA and then anyone can offer any kind of contract to him and all of a sudden we could be competing with a number of teams. I suggest the Bills submit the front loaded contract now!

  2. What did the Sheraton charge you for their balcony room on Bourbon?

What did the Sheraton charge you for their balcony room on Bourbon?

A lot!! I booked it the moment the schedule came out....they charged me $331.00 per night, which was their AAA rate.

  3. Thanks Diane for your usual hard work. We are coming in on Thursday and coming back on Tuesday. We had already booked our rooms at the Hotel St Marie (1/2 block from Bourbon Street on Toulouse St) and got our tickets through www.vividseats.com. We are in terrace section 607, row 20 on the Bills side. The tickets were just shy of $100 with fees as we needed to purchase 8. Southwest has a airfare sale going on and we booked flights from Orange County, CA to NO for $424 roundtrip. Posting this for information purposes only. Looking forward to a great time and seeing everyone on Bourbon Street.

$424, not bad at all for a RT flight from OC to the Big Easy. I will be leaving OC as well, getting there on Friday and flying back on Monday. Booked my room at the 4 points Sheraton right on Bourbon St....balcony over looking all the fun.

  4. Still negotiating with the Hotel Sales Manager. Then I have to have a signed contract. Stay tuned.

Working on the Sheraton 4 points on Bourbon Street. It also has balcony rooms (to hang Bills banners and toss beads)....

LOL...really? That is where I made my reservation. The moment the schedule came out I looked up hotels on Bourbon Street and choice that one. I have a room with a balcony over Bourbon street, but it cost $$$

  5. Okay - we all know the weekend now. I will be in touch with the hotel tomorrow morning and check the rate. Stay tuned.

Cool, I already made a reservation at the Four Points on Bourbon Street, but I will change it to whatever the official Bills hotel will be as soon as you let us know.

  6. Assuming that the NFL doesn't change anything, I have already contracted with a hotel for a traveling fan weekend in NOLA!! Let's hope the schedule cooperates and it's not a heavy weekend in the French Quarter which will drive up the room prices. Stay tuned - the schedule will be released in about 6 weeks

    I'm in.

The last time we were suppose to play there the hurricane forced them to move the game to San Antonino. Nice city, had a good time, but really looking forward to going to the Big Easy!

  7. I didn't see the shirt so I'm just making a guess but I think it might have something to do with twitter.

TWITTER!! of course, thats it. I can't believe I could not figure that out

I didn't see the shirt so I'm just making a guess but I think it might have something to do with twitter.

Your right, the Bills Mafia shirt is no longer on the site. Perhaps they sold out

  8. Back in April I was told I only had to put down a $150 deposit to hold me season tickets. The rep said upon a labor agreement I would owe the balance. The ticket office is closed today, but I haven't heard from them since the new agreement. Is anyone else in the same boat? I plan on calling them Monday.....but just thought it was odd that I hadn't heard from them yet.

Same here, the exact same boat. However they may want to wait another few days before calling people and asking for money. The mood of the fan base does not seem to be pleasant right now. If they want us to spend some money, I suggest they spend some money

  9. i'm not going to get bent out of shape over this one. up until yesterday i had never even heard his name and i still have no idea what this guy is all about. maybe we lost out on a great lb, maybe not. i'm still in "euphorically optimistic" mode. so i am gonna sit back and see what happens between now and opening day. because you know what? we aren't going to lose a regular season game between now and then, and there is a LOT that we will find out about this team in that time. i still trust chan, buddy and the crew.

At this point the NFL may just dock us a game. Just to make sure someone at OBD is still awake.

  10. I think the way FA was handled this year worked against The Bills signing Clabo. Teams could only bring in their own FAs to a sit down, until (I believe) today at 6:00 PM. That was probably a gimme to the teams who lost the three days of exclusive dealings with their own players. Instead we got a free-for-all but players weren't allowed to travel to other teams for those three days. There's talk of retaining this system going forward. I'm against that.

Perhaps, but that system did not hurt the Jags in their pursuit of Poz

  11. We keep a player: "We overpaid. No one else wanted him. Great, lets keep this 4-12 team intact. I swear I'm done with this team!"

We lose a player: "WTF is wrong with this front office? Ralph is cheap! Now we're worse than a 4-12 team! I swear I'm done with this team!"

We sign a free agent: "We overpaid. No one else wanted him. I saw him play once and I thought he sucked. I swear I'm done with this team!"

We lose out on a free agent: "WTF don't we have $39M in cap space? What are we saving it for? Friggin' Ralph is cheap! I swear I'm done with this team!"

    PTR

    LOL....very good.

  12. Excellent strategy on the part of the Bills - lie in wait for a few decades, let everyone think you're a small market team who doesn't spend, throw money at guys like Kelsay, don't sign any free agents and let your own good free agents walk and then POW!!!! Jump out like a hungry tiger in 2020 (or maybe 2030 depending on how dedicated you are to the setup of this ruse) and start spending your way to a championship - NOBODY would expect it! It would be downright diabolical!

This made me laugh big time!!
