  1. Any details? You going by yourself or with a group? Are you looking to "party hard" at the tailgate, or are you looking for a tamer experience? Are you bringing food/drink for a tailgate, or are you looking to cruise around? Any other considerations?

My AARP Card has the declaration: "Don't be an Ass". I knew Buddy when he was a puppy.

  2. Thanks everyone! Any suggestions on favorite sportsbooks? I need to put some money on the Bills to win the Super Bowl, and I'm thinking about throwing some money down on McGregor for the heck of it.

I've always found the Golden Nugget to have the best odds. Walter Hill controls most the major casino books. GN is independent.

  3. Schwabl's was my first stop in 1973 - West Seneca was still a farm town - great food - superior beef

Bailo's was OK - massive amount of lesser quality beef - great for a hungry college student

Local neighborhood place - Slomba's - Leroy & Fillmore (walked there when you didn't own a car)

That little bar with a 80 sq ft kitchen - turned out fanatasic bar grub

Used to watch the Sabres there (they had cable) and underage Canisius co-eds came in all the time

  4. I know its a little early, but i just got off the phone with Directv and there god awful customer service. Just wondering if there is way us out of towners can catch all the Bills games without DirectTv? Is there a reliable live stream that might be cheaper? The only reason I keep Directv is for the Sunday Ticket and would love to be able to cancel their service.

Just had DTV installed through Costco (new customer)

First year = $55 per month + Free NFL Ticket

2nd Year - $90 per month and $100 for NFL ticket

I just cut my COX Cable bill in half (and told them bye-bye)

Oh - A $120 cash card from Costco

Pretty much - Win - Win

Customer Service Probelms - DTV was very quick about our start up problems

  5. Official reason ? Too Close to Lancaster High School

Anyone who knew that area in the early 70's - would have been impressed by the highest structure visible - a water tower

And the jail was (and still is) down the road

Remember the name ? Ed Cotrell ?

City or County Politics - did it matter ?

I wonder who owned the shale quarry where the stadium was finally built ?

  6. I'm interested in watching some good stand up tonight. Some of who I like...

    Bill Engvall

    Gabriel Iglesias

    Bill Cosby

    Robin Williams

I guess you could say i like the comedians that don't need a swear word every other word to be funny. And no Dane Cook.

Hopefully whatever is recommended I can find on Netflix streaming.

    Thanks.

Bill Engvall - top notch - seen him live (and up close) - Blue Collar Comedy Tour - all their stuff is PG-19

Jeff Dunhan - you've seen him on TV - but even better live - come to Del Mar 06/23

Robin Williams - eeek - NSFW

  7. I'm very concerned with what Shawne Merriman's role is going to be on this team. He can't play LB in a 4-3 that's for sure. I'm not so sure whether he can play DE however. How many career sacks does "Lights Out" have with his hand on the ground? Pretty sure it's not too many.

Merriman ran out of gas in San Diego - nothing left in the tank

San Diego did better with Spikes

  8. I'll be hanging at one of my favorite bars that has progressive draft specials going all day long. They open the doors at 8am and the drafts start at 25 cents and go up 25 cents at every hour until they are a $1 and then they go back down to 25 cents the next hour. Should be a beautiful day

If you are in LA - opens at 6 AM

Supposed to rain all weekend - no beach day

  9. Questions for those season ticket holders that resell the games they can't make...

    1) Which service do you use? TicketExchange/Stubhub/EBay/Other?

    2) Do you post tickets as soon as the schedule comes out, or wait till you have the physical ticket?

    3) Do you just set a price no matter what game, or adjust what you ask for based on the game?

Reason I'm asking is I find it difficult to sell mine, I usually wait till I have the physical ticket, and I have club seats so TicketExchange won't let me go much under the face value.

    1. Ticket Exchange

    2. Wait & See

    3. Adjust Price (you never know what a out of town person will pay)

    Positive Experience all around

  10. Vegas bookies did NOT take a bath.

Vegas sports books made money, but not very much compared to previous years. Here's the story:

    http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2011-02-08/super-bowl-packers-win-nets-vegas-sports-books-smallest-profit-in-13-years.html

Oh, fine - they "made" the smallest profit - they still were not happy

BTW - sports books contribute little to a casino's bottom line in the end run

Sounds like a government dodge -

    I didn't get a 6% increase this year - only a 2% - ipso facto 'I got cut'

  11. Dare to dream, that's all I'm saying. None of us would be here if we didn't dream it one day possible

And every year - I run a syndicate pool in Vegas to bet just those long odds - I like 40-1 (+)

Kansas City & Seattle both made the palyoffs this year = and Tampa Bay just missed

Buffalo is sitting around 70 - 100 to 1 right now just to win the AFC - injuries always matter

Dare to dream, that's all I'm saying. None of us would be here if we didn't dream it one day possible

  12. I have been trying to sell a couple of games tickets. (when out of town) Planned to use the Bills/NFL setup, which says, on line, that its down for maintenance. BUT, the Bills ticket office tells me that it has been determined that the setup, which has been in use for a couple of years, has been determined to be in violation of NYS law, and they are hoping our (disfuonctional) state legislature is going to fix this for them. (that certainly is "down for maintenance", right) Remember, the other NYS teams are really New Jersey teams....so Billls fans will apparently not have the use of this forum to deal tickets. What I want to ask is to where else to go with this transaction....I know STUB HUB, and the local folks (VIPSeats), but I am wondering where I might get the best results in terms of price and ease of transaction. Any thoughts out there?

Go to Ticketmaster.com if the Bills support it I use it all the time for other events- only 10% charge and electronic forwarding - no mail hassles

Painless transaction compared to E-Bay & Stub Hub - you just can't sell for less than face value

Are you selling the opener vs. Miami ?

  13. A little older than most here - but 2 horrors of my youth

Invasion from Mars (1953) - scared the S&*T out of a young-in - catch it if you can - copied many times but still an original

The original "Thing" - James Arness was the monster - still plays well today although the remake wasn't bad

Modern Era - Sigourney Weaver and her tank top in the first "Alien" - still a thriller in the old tradition
