Enough with the WR screens...

Really coming down in Baltimore.
-
Solid drive so far. How about going deep here?
-
No shotgun on that 3rd and short...maybe Fairchild learned a lesson.
-
keep on pounding Willis. It'll pay off later in the game.

Defense looks like they're picking up where they left off last week
-
Ravens are now 5/6 on 3rd down

Another 3rd down conversion from Baltimore....

Pete Prisco thinks that Saban's a goner:
Deny, deny, deny.
That's what Nick Saban has done constantly when talking about leaving the Dolphins for the Alabama job.
I don't buy it.
I think he's on his way to Tuscaloosa. I really do. Several sources who know Saban think so, too.
The money the Tide is said to be offering -- one source said it was a 10-year deal worth between $35-38 million -- is too good to pass up for Saban. Plus, his two years in the NFL have taught him that he likes the college game better.
With the chance that Wayne Huizenga might be selling the Dolphins, there is no loyalty to the team.
I will be shocked if Saban is coaching the Dolphins in 2007.

I mentioned this in another thread, but the safeties (yes, I know that they're young, but the problem has persisted pretty much all year long) take terrible angles when they're nearing ballcarriers.
-
-
If the QB is out of the pocket, then there is no illegal contact.
However, once the ball is in the air, and unless the ball has been tipped/deflected, it's pass interference regardless of whether the QB is in the pocket.
But they never call PI on Hail Marys, right?
-
DT has to be a top priority.
But it would help if players actually knew how to tackle and if the safeties took proper angles when they approached ball carriers...
-
Why go into shotgun on 3rd and 1 on the previous drive? If you're intent on throwing, fine...but why shotgun?
Why did it take so long to make the decision on 4th down? The coaching staff should have had their minds made up BEFORE they even ran the 3rd down play.
Fisher and his staff made Jauron and company look foolish today

Roy Williams update
Wide receiver Roy Williams did not rule out playing Sunday, although the team says he is doubtful. Williams injured his shoulder and back when he was hit by Vikings safety Darren Sharper .
"If we can get it to calm down we will be in good position," Williams said during an interview on WXYT 1270. "Right now it is stiff."
The toughest thing for Williams has been sleep. He slept on a couch after the game.

Roy Williams hurt his back yesterday. Any word on the severity of the injury?

You said "Did you ever think that maybe the Bears have been a better team since JP's arrival into the NFL?"
Well in Grossmans first 2 years they were a bad team and he was still 3-3.
And yes I know what they did with Orten, he was asked to manage the games and not lose them. To which a he did a good job doing. At this point and has been proven this year, that's all Losman will have to do in a lot of cases. Let's see if he and the coaches can figure that out.
Yes, I did say that. How that turns into "JP is better than Grossman" is beyond me....
If you want to compare Orton's role with the '05 Bears with that of Losman on the '06 Bills, I have to ask you this: do you really think that the Bills '06 D is anywhere near as good as the Bears '05 D was?
-
Uh, I never said that he was worse than Losman.
I do know that the Bears went to the playoffs last year with a rookie, 4th round QB (Orton is the 3rd stringer now, BTW).
