  1. I actually had a conversation with a friend of mine over drafting a DT early, he was for it, and I said we already have like 5 on the roster, I can't see us drafting a 6th, and his response was classic

" Yeah your right, who needs a defensive tackle with a group like that."

Hope you catch the sarcasm ha

  2. For anyone who cares and is local to Syracuse, Thurman will be at ENV collectibles in Carousel Mall signing autographs on September 29th i think, don't quote on that exact date, but for anybody interested I'll verify, but he's definetly going to be there sometime around then, I saw the sign when I picked up my Sabres jersey last week

  3. Pfff, anybody who thinks Bledsoe's career was "mediocre" is an absolute fool,14 year vet, top 10 in three major passing categories, 4 pro bowls, trip to a superbowl, if that's mediocre, how good to you have to be to have a "good" career? He had his faults, like anyone, and they were exposed far more often late in his career. A nice guy(Who I've met), and a good player, hall of famer? Doubtful, but, he's got nothing to feel bad about. I'll miss ol' Drew

  4. Which is basically my point. If he just had those two seasons people would be looking at a guy who gets hurt and rushes for 1000 yards. THOSE are the dime a dozen. The guy that had the freshman year he had is the franchise back.

He's not the same guy he was his freshmen year. You draft a guy on who he is NOW, I don't think the team that drafts AP is going to be raving about what he did 3 years ago.

  5. As I am pretty sure i pointed out in my post, I watch next to no chargers games. That is why I said the boy had a hell of a college career, and not neccasrily all agaisn't D1AA clubs. And I do believe how guys played in college when they relatively little experience in the pros does weigh in. Brett Farve trade comes to mind. Like I said, I have no earthly idea if Turner will tyrn out to be the next Jerome Bettis(ggod trade for the steelers) or the next Blait Thomas, just relaying what he looked like agaisn't my squad two years in a row in college.

Im not trying to bash your post, I may have come off that way but not at all. I understand where your coming from, I shouldn't have said his college career has NO relevance, but I think in terms of this deal and most, if the guy has had enough NFL exposure(WHich I think Turner has, considering he wasn't just a guy who played during blowouts) you can forget the college tapes. And considering you got to see him live against your boys at school you probably have seen more of him than most, I actually had him and LT on my fantasy team so I watched alot of their games. I like the player, alot, but, for the right price.

  6. He hasn't had alot of carries any year in the NFL. If you want to see if he can carry the ball 300+ you should look to the only time he carried the ball alot(college).

College-NFL, different animals. I could see if the guy was a rookie last year, but he's been around for 3 years now, it's safe to say what he did back at Northern Illinois in the powehouse conference they play in is pretty much irrelevant. Alot of guys carry the load in college and can't in the NFL, I'm sorry but it's just useless. Marv didn't look at any Northern Illinois tape, that isn't what struck his fancy in Turner, he watched him play in the NFL, and he's gotten enough carries for scouts to see what type of runner he is and how that forecasts into a full time role. Do you think prior to acquiring LaMont Jordan the Raiders called Ralph Freidgen and asked for game film? Pfff

  7. What did you do in college?

But seriously, if Peterson didn't produce in college he wouldn't be considered a top 5 pick. It does matter,

Your talking about a guy who's coming out this year and a guy who came out 3 years ago. Do you really think anybody thinking of trading for MT is looking at his Northern Illinois tapes? I mean get real, what he did then means jack. And what did I do in college? Pfff, I produced, that's all I'll say :wallbash:

  8. Who cares whet we "look" like, is the trade in our best interest is all that matters. Now, I cannot speak for Turner in the pros as I watch next to no Charger games, but that boy tore up a pretty good Maryland defence when he played in college. I can guarantee you the ole old MR Roid Merriman still has nightmares about playing agaisn't Turner when the 1AA program put a whopping on the MD defense, a defense that included two first rd draft LBs

Who cares how he "looked" in college against a crap Maryland team. They had some good backers'? That's great, what he did in college means as much as what I did in college

  9. I say the Titans will not be bidding for him. With the big chance of the

Punk Man being suspended for the year they won't have to much

    to offer the Bolts.

We also have plenty of holes to fill, and we can't exactly be throwing away our first day draft picks. I'm firmly against anything involving 1st rounders, no swap, nothing. Here's the problem, anything more than a pair of 3rd's like we got for McGahee and we look stupid, how can we give up as much or more to a guy who's produced half as much as Willis had and is coming off a whopping 80 carry season. I tell AJ Smith we'll give him a 3rd and a 4th, and if he doesn't like it he can shove it up his a$$ and watch Turner walk next year for nothing. No need feeding AFC powerhouses with more picks for guys they are going to lose anyways.

  10. Not sure, don't really care either way. It's a message board, feel free to express your thoughts. But, in regard to all of this " He's an unproven backup", these college kids are more unproven. Is he great? Probably not, but he could be. But what we do know is that he's better than ANYONE we have on the roster and with him it's one less thing we need to address in the draft. For the right price, I'd love him, but anything that involves a 1st round pick or swapping picks is absurd, you can't trade away a PROVEN back like McGahee for a pair of 3rds and then trade for a guy like Turner for more than that. It's things like that that will make ESPN continue to rip the moves we make

  11. Whoa posted and left to come back to this, guess I started quite a stir. It's just what I was told, had no confirmation, so I asked, all of you guys flipping balls over these "rumor" threads need to relax, this is a message board, probably a good place to talk about stuff like this. Stop crying.

  12. Look I think Arizona's Chris Henry is a hell of a specimen, but despite all of his size and speed, he's done nothing in his college career that would make anyone think he'll be better than Willis, say what you want about his YPC watch the games, he didn't exactly have enormous holes to run through. Us Bills fans, pff, spoiled by Thurman's greatness? We've now run out of town two good RBs(Travis Henry, Willis) who at the time we all ripped apart as being overrated and blah blah. I really hope this deal works out

  13. Im sorry I'm not excited about this deal. Mark my words, Mcgahee will have a career year for Baltimore. And what did we get? A LOW 3rd rounder and a 7th rounder, and probably another low 3rd rounder next year? How can Wes Welker and Thomas Jones' fetch you a 2nd rounder but McGahee can't manage that? If we sign Corey Dillon i'll kill myself, you know things are bad if your almost hoping Chris Brown comes to play. And on top of this huge hole we now have at RB, we still need loads of help at CB, LB, DL, WR, TE......I love the Bills and always will but this is hard to swallow, I get the whole "Get 3 picks for a guy who wouldnt be here next year anyways" but who's to say that? McGahee said he would have liked to stay if the price was right, I swear, if we give some bum FA runner a contract somewhat to as much as Willis gets from the Ravens I'm done

  14. Crowell played MLB in college and it's still up in the air whether he'll make the move inside or not. The OLB class seems to be a little bit deeper in terms of players that we're looking for and need for the cover 2, so why not just wait on drafting a linebacker in the first(And Willis will ABSOLUTELY be there at 12) and pick up the DL/CB or trade down for more picks? It makes alot more sense. I like Willis and wouldn't mind drafting him with our 1st rounder, but no way at 12. I don't care how much we like him.

  15. I agree it's funny that everybody called Ralph out for being too frugal and saying he won't spend any money, and as soon as he does now we overpaid for everybody. Look around the NFL, the money being tossed around is sick, whatever we sign guys for, that's their going rate. End of story. Love the Dockery pick, he's young, and brings a new element to our line. As for Walker, look, I remember him coming out of Cal,l and the story was for a guy 6 foot 8 and 340 some odd pounds, he just doesn't play like it. Playing for the Raiders probably doesn't help, but, this guy has underchieved for the most part and giving him 5 years and 25 million worries me. Is he another Mike Williams? Minus the top 5 hype? Now we'll see what McNally can do, Marv has given him plenty to work with. I just hope Walker and do his part.
