  1. I saw no fewer than 10 different posters in the shout box and gameday thread declare that the game was over (in philly's favor) while the Bills were LEADING by a touchdown in the 4th quarter.

Don't get me wrong. I'm of the "hope for the best, prepare for the worst" mindset at times too, but if you can't be optimistic with the lead at home, then why are you watching?

LOL I had the Shout Box open on my ipad while watching the game and it's really laughable how negative some people can be. I remember I had a guy who sat right behind me on the 50 at the Ralph and for 15 years I never heard one positive comment come out of his mouth (I'm not exaggerating). It's almost as if he was trying to will the team to make mistakes so he could complain. Even his friends would tell him to shut up! I always wondered what daily life in his household was like, and felt badly for anyone who had to live with him. I had this same feeling reading many of the comments in the Shout Box during the game.

I'm certain the vast majority of Bills fans are enjoying the great plays and wins even while experiencing the mistakes and losses, and while they may not be the most vocal on the message boards it's probably because they're out experiencing life with people who actually want to be around them. :-)

  2. Not a lot of respect for Reed on ESPN.com. In the sentence listing those who didn't make it, all had a hyperlink to more info except Reed. And they couldn't even spell his name right:

    -----

The finalists who did not get in were Curtis Martin, Dermontti Dawson, Cortez Kennedy, Andre Reid and Willie Roaf.

  3. It's a holiday weekend here so instead of Bangkok speed Internet which allows me to watch games on my Slingbox, I"m in the mountains of Khao Yai "watching" the game via ESPN's text-based updates using my cell phone to drive my iPad through a personal router, and I only have 2 bars! And even so I find myself anxiously awaiting the outcome of every play. Take the sequence following the fumble for instance, all I could do was wonder why they didn't pound it in. Ugh, always a die-hard fan no matter where I am. With only 32% left on my iPad not sure I'll know how it turns out.

  4. What're you doing in Bangkok? I lived there for five years. Haven't been back in about four, but want to go back.

    Hi Dr. F,

Moved here almost a year ago after falling in love with a Thai fashion model WooHoo!! Now working for the new Siam Kempinski Hotel Bangkok! Come back for a visit, we'll have a tailgate!!!!

    Andy

  5. Good luck with listening to the game...Ive tried to listen from all over Asia including Thailand. Some times things work out well but its tough to hear a complete season there.

Thx, so far so good, the Slingbox working perfectly so watching on TV 8 in Rochester. I tend to get better internet connection late at night here, so things in my favor!

  6. Hey I live in Bangkok!! How are you planning on watching games? Now that there is 2 of us here, we need to start a Bill backers here. I just saw a guy on a scooter a few days ago with a bills motorcyc helmet, cracked me up.

LOLOL would love to see that helmet!!

I have a slingbox set up in Rochester which allows me to watch the games live here (or taped if I want). Unfortunately only one computer at a time can watch a slingbox or else I'd be happy to give you access. Every once in a while the Bills make it onto the weekly game shown here on TrueVision, but last season when I first moved here I hadn't gotten a TV yet!

I'll send you my email, keep in touch. We can have tailgates this year!

  7. Oak Tree,

Not sure of the purpose of your rant, maybe you just didn't bother to read my initial message (or the rest of the thread)? I wasn't making a "statement" as you seem to suggest. I moved to the other side of the world and can no longer use my seats.

-- Note: [i edited out this paragraph, really no need to be so sarcastic toward someone I don't know (at least I hope I don't know)] --

LOL One thing I won't miss about Sundays is a small but impossible to miss legion of ________ .... well, you fill in the blank Oak Tree. -- [but I decided to leave this paragraph in LOL} --

good for you and bye bye,you wont be missed.

you guys crack me up like you giving up your seats means jack s-it.

to bad your going to miss out on a new season under a new staff i hope we make the playoffs then I'm sure you will really feel great. you show them like its makes a differance,LOL.

i have had my tickets since the Ralph opened and wouldn't give them up for the world, sec 134,row 28 on the 50.

how any season ticket holder could give up their tickets this year with a new staff is beyond me.

if they still suck this year then IMO you might consider giving up your seats. however with a new offensive minded coach known for scoring a lot of points and with a new defense you decide to give up you seats, great logic.

see ya dont want to be ya!

  8. Mac, I, for one, will miss your pictures from camp...your August postings were very much looked forward to.

Good luck in Thailand...hope you can find some white Zweigles!

Thanks! You can rely on my cousin Evillarry who posts sometimes from camp to have some beautiful photos. As for Zweigles, there's nothing like it on this side of the world. Anyone want to set up an export/import business with me? I'm game.

  9. I love Thai food....

LOL I love Thai food too! Thai food here isn't the same as it is in Western NY though.

Good conversation above. I prefer the front of the upper deck because it's the view I'm used to on TV and I guess after so many years I have a real good feel for the game from there. I never sat mid- to high-lower bowl so I can't comment on that view, but I've sat between 3rd row and 12th row field level and while I was closer to the excitement I lost a feel for the bigger picture of the game. To each his own!

I've never used stub hub, and could consider trying a couple times a year, but to manage it every game wasn't attractive.

If I was only going to have to worry about getting rid of a couple of games a season, or if it was in my plans to return home in the next couple years, I would have kept the tickets. But since neither of those is the case, it was time to let the tix go.

    Go Bills!!

  10. Just let my season tickets go after 24 years. Got them the day we signed Jim Kelly. Moved to Thailand, and can't find people to use the tickets. Watching the games live at 1AM and 4AM through my SlingBox from Bangkok. Go Bills!!!!!!!! Someone will be able to get 4 wonderful seats in Section 311 on the 50.
