I got the response I was looking for. MARK MY WORDS in all caps sure got got people fired up.
For those who say Marshawn Lynch will be our pick if AP is not there, must not follow in the theory that Marv is drafting character. He is not a character guy, meanwhile AP is very much so. Those that are happy in their pants about kenny iron and michael bush....please! Have you seen highlights of these guys? They cant even make people miss on the college level, I cant imagine either being more then a situational back in the pros. Irons to small, Bush to slow. Hunt and brandon jackson are the only guys I see as having the potential to be and everyday back, but neither have the experience. Trading one pick to get the best RB to come out since LT isnt too much. We have holes....we arent going to fill them all this year. Quality before quantity people!
eeeeaaasssssyy there capt. hyperbole.
i like how people knock michael bush after watching his "highlights". watch some college football games and youd see how good he is and i f'ing hate louisville...lets go mountaineers. maybe we should just wait til steve slaton next year!

ahman isnt getting any younger and while there is quite a log jam there with their rb situation, that can be easily remedied with off season cuts. the night is still young. if peterson is there at twelve then i would have to change my tune and say snatch him up or trade down, preferably the latter. good post though.

1) Lynch WILL BE available at 12. If we want a RB, lynch is our guy. Peterson is not that much better than lynch anyway.
2) Peterson very well could be there at 12.
3) 2nd round RBs have had alot of success in the NFL
4) A trade up costs ALOT. We have too many holes to fill
i am going to preface this by saying that i want the bills to draft defense first and rb in the 2nd round.
1) To say that peterson is "not that much better than lynch" is naive. while injuries have severely hindered and possibly left a plagued legacy, peterson may still be considered one of the finest college backs in 10 years. i would actually listen to that argument.
2) There is no rational thought that brings me to the prediction that peterson will be there at 12. if not cleveland than surely houston, after the bush debacle last year, how does the texans organization not take AP?
3) so have 5th round OT's, whats that have to do with the price of tea in china?
4) agreed!

yeah, the giants would be best early considering the contingency of giants fans in the area, a la the steelers game, otherwise known as "bledsoe-gate".

best: in no particular order
1. cowboys
2. giants
3. colts
4. lions throwbacks
5. chargers throwbacks
worst: no particular order
1. dolphins
2. seahawks
3. vikings
4. buccaneers
5. cardinals

i feel like such a newb with my what? 10 posts....anyway. it was my grandfathers name and my middle name.

he did a lot of talking about "bleeding red white and blue" and then turned around and complained that he's never had a good QB and threw JP under the bus. he quit on the team. and when it came down to it, he bled green.
the texans colors are red and blue too

i think that you have to go d first. i just dont see how losing fletch and nate can be made up in later rounds. i do however believe that a very solid rb can still be aquired in the 2nd rd., i.e. bush or irons to pair w/a veteran like rhodes or brown. the fact that some random posters think that peterson "could fall" is a pipe dream, and i mean that you must be hitting the pipe to think he'll still be on the board. willis, hall or okoye would be a fabulous pick at 12 for me. we also have alot of options now in the 3rd, more d? a possession reciever? lots to think about.
LET'S GO 'CUSE!!!!!

i'd take:
hall-12 best corner on the board
bush-43 power rb w/speed who has crazy game
blades-61 fantastic lb who dominated
stanton-74 could be groomed into a frank reich
harris-107 lb depth doesnt suck

2nd and 5th is okay i guess. Its too bad the Raven's 2nd rd pick is so late (61st)
i would be very happy with the 2nd and 5th. if this is true, i will do a dance, right now.........

He is not coming to Buffalo as a back up
yeah, cause he knows that splitting time would NEVER work in todays nfl!! certainly not well enough to win a super bowl.

If you're playing for 2008, you don't spend roughly $75 mill on veteran linemen. You draft guys and let them develop for a year.
youre not gonna spend 75 million on two non-veteran linemen and its not like these guys are 30, theyre in their 20's. i dont think the bills are drafrting for only this year or only 2008, the front office is trying to build longevity, not a flash in the pan.
-
If you're building for 2008, which I don't think for a second we are, it's much easier to find a good RB that can step right in and play than it is a DT, LB or CB. There is also not a clear cut choice for an RB at 12.
you think it would be easier for lynch to acclimate to the pro game then say amobi okoye or patrick willis? cb i think is comperable given the difference is wr and te speed, but i think that LB and DT are more plug-n-play than RB. BTW, next years RB draft class w/my boy stevie slaton and mcfadden is going to be electrifying.

fletcher will never see that 25 mill., how much do you think he realistically has in the tank? maybe 3 years? i believe that walker has more upside and potential at his position than l-f-b. then question i think youre asking is if walker is worth 25 mill., and he got it so i guess he is.

i'd like us to 1st address the defense with either okoye, hall or branch and then with our second pick snatch up michael bush. its not gonna happen, but i think it would be great to have a guy like ahman green who can definately run in inclamite weather to tutor michael bush, would be a great 1-2 punch IMO.
We WILL be trading up...
