I think this is a great question.

Without being in the locker room with the guys, it's hard to say who might emerge as a leader this season.  We certainly need someone to step up with all the veteran leaders we've lost.

In the past, Allen has said he displays his leadership by his play on the field.  While leading by example is important, it's not the be-all/end-all of leadership.   We need players who get other players to commit to "the process," pay attention in the meeting rooms, and execute on the practice field as well as the game field.  I don't know if Josh has done a lot of that previously but he did say that he'll take a bigger role this year.

I agree with most of your assessments.  And in another thread, I advocated for Hyde's return for the very same reason: his leadership.  If he wasn't 40 years old, I'd want Kyle Williams back too.

Shedding the older players wasn't about control or leadership. It was about older players starting to get injured and this crew not able to beat KC. Beane had to come with a new approach.

More I think about it less I like it.  It is a PR Russ Brandon type move.  He is athletic but not special at the size.  Kind of oddly proportioned for football.   Oliver and Donald sized but does he have that kind of quickness.

I think he will be able to move OT's around with his hands and techniques.

I have no idea how they can solve it. But it is a problem that needs to be looked at. People with common sense don't text and drive but there are many people out there without common sense.

Ive heard some cars have technology to detect if the driver is looking down and not at the road and it alerts the driver somehow to look up. Maybe that kind technology is the correct direction to pursue.

  5. I like McD for the most part. The 13 second game I put on Frazier more than McD. My issues with McD is hanging on to Tyler Bass. The guy average to below average and has cost us some games. I hope he finds us a better kicker. Also we should have kept Matt Ariaza. That will bite us in butt this year.

I agree, spandex mafia is out of control. I have had so many negative experiences from cyclists.

Are we going to have a good year? Do you thinking losing Poyer/Diggs will hurt us badly? Thoughts on our SOS ?

The short answer on having a good year is Yes! I'm glad our first game is against the Cardinals. It will give us a good tune up game before meeting AFC opponents. We couldn't try to continue with the same players, it wasn't working for whatever the reason. It's time to start fresh with new WR's
