Terrance Pennington cut by the Falcons, along with Joey Harrington.
Willie Reid for the Steelers, some interesting names
-
Willie Reid of the Steelers.
-
Figured there will be a ton of "wow did you hear this guy got cut?" Or "Holy crayonz on a stick, <insert name here> was canned!"
So far, surprises have been
RB: Rudi Johnson
OT: Willie Anderson
OT: Joe Toledo
WR: Ashley Lelie
DT: Jesse Mahelona
QB: Tyler Palko (For Western PA people)
K: Taylor Mehlhaff (Early in camp was supposed to take over for Gramatica)
Also, the 9'ers waived J.J. Finley, someone who pre-draft was a wanted commodityat OBD.
Any other interesting things or reactions, might as well put 'em here!

Hey Falstaff, which episode or season is that Monarch line from? Haha I love it.

Per NFL.com

Interesting, that it says "Saint's" to do so above it... obviously a mistake, but should be interesting to see where he ends up. Houston?

Poor guy, liked him in a Bills uniform.
Just posting this since he's an ex-Bill, not the whole I've heard of him let's pick him up thing.
-
so he'll report on labor day? that's friggin ironic.
Good Call.
-
nfm?
And yeah, we did get Gaines off the street...

Dwight Schrute: Yes, I have decided to shun Andy Bernard Jason Peters for the next three years days... which I'm looking forward to. It's an Amish technique; it's like slapping someone with silence.
Dwight Schrute: I was shunned from the age of 4 until my 6th birthday, for not saving the excess oil from a can of tuna.
Beats, Bears, Battlestar Galactica.
God I love Dwight...
But I, too, agree not to mention his name until he's back.
It's like burying your head in sand to not see the image of Muhammed.

Don't they have to clear waivers first? There's no way they clear waivers.
Agreed. Reggie has shown too much this preseason that other teams would want, and Ellis, not so sure on him, but as a situational pass rusher, he'll be too good to pass up.
If anyone from this draft class, put Stevie J or Xavier Omon on the Practice Squad.

Am I the only person who thinks that Bryan Scott doesn't make the team?
He's been good, but to me, he's the surprise D cut.
-
Chris Ellison on the tackle.
-
It was only a matter of time...
I'm guessing JP backs, or, as they did last year, have Fred Jackson be there in case of emergency
-
Was I the only person who liked Pierson?
Thought he wasn't half bad on ST...

Due to my classes for the day being over and my obsession with the Bills, I'm watching footage of last years games, and I can honestly say this:
Along with Marion Barber III, I don't know of ANYONE in the NFL today that wants that 1 extra yard more. Beast Mode for a reason, I honestly think he puts his career on the line every play, it seems like he'd take an ACL tear over losing a yard. He seems to love the team, love the city, and whatever people think poorly about the guy I'd like to know, cause I think he's the cornerstone of this team.
Had to rant about that .
Go Bills.

If the Bills have a great season and are in the post-season, then there's a smile on my face.
As stated above. All odds are out the window when playoffs start.
Any given sunday.
God when will the damn season start...
-
Not necessarily because I'm a diehard pathetic fan, but you have to like when a learned, probable HoF coach says you'll be a good team this year. A guy whose job has been to study other teams his entire career (rather than run against them or hit them) and plan, he must see tough match ups on this team.
Living in Steeler country, I have a distaste for Pittsburgh, but have always respected his play calling, smarts, and leadership.
Big Jauron fan (almost said big Dick fan...), but wouldn't mind seeing the chin on the Bills sidelines!

This is the type of thread that should be posted everyweek, maybe if someone finds it they can inform SDS or Lori and have it posted up top?
Just a thought

hahaha, I'm definitely scared of that dynamic Jets OL. This is a tangent, but that comment made me think about something. Does anyone else get really annoyed when people talk about the jets and how good their offensive line is and use D'brickishaw as an example. I mean since he was a high pick and people know his name, and he's started every game the last couple years people assume he's good when the fact is the guy can't pass block to save his life. Schoebel, Jason Taylor, and Richard Seymour all abuse him twice a year. If he was a quarterback who was that high a pick and had performed as badly people would be talking about what a bust he is, but since no one pays attention to linemen people just assume he's good because they've heard of him.
I also love how people think that throwing a brand new left guard and right tackle in to a new system with a new quarterback automatically takes a team from being a projected 4-12 to 9-7, 10-6.
Ha... never heard of adding a new LG and RT with a new quarterback before...

When Reed went down, the second and third teamers moved up, so when Matt Baker had one less person to throw to, tada, CJ Hawthorne.
The guy was phenomenal in college, I hope he ends up with a team that'll be able to utilize him.
-
He's got the reverse of that Michael Jackson disease.
Childtouchinitis?
-
Apparently, according to Madden 09, he had a skin pigment change.
To those who haven't seen, he's the #1 FS Free Agent in the game, and he's black.
Good for him, though, I liked the guy, hope he does well.
-
I can honestly say that I don't think with Steven Jackson's new deal he's hurting for cash right now.

Boy I Love Losing Superbowls.
What's the difference between a dollar and the Buffalo Bills?
You can get 4 quarters out of a dollar.
What do you get when you lose 4 Super Bowls in a row?
The Buffalo Bills.
And the biggest joke of them all?
Canada.
