I wonder if he makes the team.  Cam doesn’t have the capacity for that team or system.

At best, I give it one full season and the Pats go full power run game

Knowing Belichick's strick intolerance for theatrics and deviating from The Patriot Way, I think this has greater potential to be "One and Done" than a long term prospect. Obviously Newton catching fire could cause Belichick to overlook some things, but as you said, he hasn't made the team or been named starting quarterback.

  2. 9/11/88 with my dad. I flew up to Buffalo from Florida to go on our yearly fishing trip to Canada. He met me at the airport on Saturday with 2 tickets to Sunday's game against My Yami. Bills won a yawner 9-6. I had been to the old Rockpile before when I was growing up, but this was really special. Turns out it would be the last time I would see my dad. He died suddenly 2 months later.

  3. Okay so, I was the one on here who got blasted for predicting a Bills win and putting a nice chunk of change on an +8.5 line that went up to 10.5. (couple pages back, just saying!) Lets remember , 95.9% of you guys said we had no possibility of competing in this game, but that's old news.

I'll say another thing, this team has some real blocks to build on, both defensively and offensively, lets not forget that we dominated this game, we controlled the clock, set the tempo, and did our damn thing with 7 starters out! I keep hearing we have ZERO depth, but how can we explain competing with a healthy Jets team, with 13 guys on I.R?

I understand the frustration and anger, and the lost promise of this season. I feel that pain, believe me, but if you cant see a difference in this Bills team under this regime compared to regimes over the last decade, your blind. I have a renewed faith in Gailey and like I been saying, Fitz's BIGGEST problem is CONSISTENCY, period. The guy made some big league throws today, and if he can just balance out a little bit, I see playoffs for the next few years, and I haven't made that statement in a good 7 years.

This team wants to !@#$ing win fellas, I have a connection and have met alot of them , and that vibe is all over their faces, its all about wins, and I dont remember when a Buffalo team had a vibe like that. That alone makes me feel great about the future of this team.

One more thing, a first for me, I live in the North Jersey area and for the first time in my life, I got told by numerous Jets fans that they respect the Bills and think they will be trouble for years to come. The comments I got were shocking, they felt like we dominated them as well. I'm a lil tipsy, but that game was a damn heartbreaker, I cannot even watch that drop by Stevie on the 20 yard line, who cares or knows if he would have scored, thats irrelevant, bottom line, 1st, 2nd,3rd,4th WR on any NFL team has to make that catch, it was perfect and just watching that replay a few times, I got sick to my stomach, and as far as the TD dance, i'll be 100% honest, I loved it, at the time, and it got me and my other friend real loud at the bar, but I hated what it did for our team.

    Just some food for thought

Oh and Aaron Williams is a PLAYER!!!

    2008.

Different year, same old story. Despite glaring weaknesses, Bills start the season by winning some games and becoming media darlings, then injuries start mounting, lack of depth becomes blatantly obvious, smoke and mirrors are exposed and the same old "team shows promise - just a few more pieces - if not for the injuries - just wait until next year" starts all over again.

In the words of the immortal Yogi Berra, "I'll believe it when I believe it."

Oh, and Stevie Johnson need to start concentrating on catching passes that hit him right in the hands before he ends up as another ex NFL player with "potential" who is selling used cars or life insurance.

  4. Remember the game is over if plax doesn't make an amazing one handed grab

What about the remainder of the 82 yard snowplow through Wretched George's defense on that drive? Remember that the game was won if Wretched George's defense gets just ONE 3 and out or maybe a 4 and out on that 82 yard romp through a wet Kleenex? The game was won and Wretched George's defense couldn't keep them from scoring any more than I can go out and yell at the sun to stop shining.

  5. Yup. Sanchez was in the midst of a TERRIBLE day throwing, and we still let their offense score 28 points. It's easy to point to a couple plays on offense because they were specifically heart-wrenching, but any semblance of a competent defense wouldn't have put the offense in a scenario where they needed 29.

Thank you. When your offense has given you the lead and your defense gives up an 82 yard game wining drive, you have found the culprit. Period.

  6. This time it looks different. If they had come out and continued to stink it up yesterday I would be nervous that it truly is all a mirage. But with a third of the starters either rookies or out of position they had the Jets beat if Johnson catches the ball right in his hands across the middle at the end.

Um....they had the game won until Wretched George's defense gave up an 82 yard snowplow of a drive for the Jets win. This loss belongs to Wretched George along with the other 17 losses in his wretched *&$!ing so-called career as DC for the Bills.

  7. I know the ACC isn't the toughest division in football but things must be real different at Clemson, cuz aside from about 2 or 3 runs which her got yards CJ cant hit the hole very fast or at all. Was it just me or did he run into the left tackle like 8 times. We to run more screens with him and more draws or dare i say a reverse, he cant pound between the tackles at 197 pounds.

CJ hits the hole like I hit the lottery.

  8. Another Sunday, another loss. The Bills find new ways to frustrate me every week lately, but with the same result. I understand we need more talent, and I think it will be 2012 at least before we are an upper tier team. That being said, I wish they would find a way to steal wins on days like today. If you looked at the stats and not the final score, you would think the Bills had won today.

Put this loss squarely where it belongs, on George Edwards and his wretched defense. The Bills had the lead and Jets were on their own 18. 82 yards later, with a number of 3rd and longs, the Jets snow plowed Georges' aforementioned wretched defense for the winning TD, Sanchez's 4th of the day against George Edwards afore-aforementioned wretched defense.

  9. you think it's better to keep him and make stache the dc next year? It's probably gonna happen. Fire the bum now and let the other bum show us how worthless he is now, so we don't have to go through this again next year

Just for the record, I have been calling for Edwards to get canned since last season.

  10. Barbarian - but remember a scant 4 weeks ago when there was hope and things were so much better? Wasn't it a bit more of a joy ride and fun to follow? I have grown accustomed to expecting the worst, but the buzz of the first half of the season reminded me of what it was like to root for a winner. I was there for the best of times in the late 80's and 90's...but the past 10+ years had faded that feeling...the first half of this year was a reminder of much better times, that again, proved to be more of the smoke and mirrors kind resulting in the current malaise I suffer...

We hope you enjoyed your 5 games of buzziness. We now return you to your regularly scheduled malaise.

  11. +1

I believe in intangibles. I don't weight them as heavily as some, but I think a winning attitude, the spark, plays a role. The only thing I've ever objected to is that the media tends to forget Tebow's teammates (and that includes all the other impressive young men at UF).

    +2

Also motivation and a belief that you can win no matter what the odds or the score. Something the team had early in the season but has disappeared. Dropped passes, dropped interceptions, bone headed penalties, missed tackles and on and on and on.

  12. At this point, firing Edwards won't do much on the field of play. But you know what it will do? It will show the fans and the team as a whole that this **** won't be tolerated any further. It's the symbolism of his firing that'll hopefully reverberate throughout the franchise and fans. This defense is by far, the worst in the league..and it's simply unacceptable.

I'm sick and !@#$ing tired of this offense having to carry this team EVERY SINGLE GAME (minus the redskins game). Our offense has made serious strides this year but we're still not an elite offense - we can be good/really good some games and other be quite average/below average..we can't expect the offense to go and put up 30 points every week. But you give me a defense that ranks 15th or 16th in the league in yds allowed/pts allowed (aka an average defense), and I'll give you a team that is at least 7-4 or maybe even 8-3 at this point. That's water under the bridge at this point though..what really bothers me is taht we have seen little to no improvement in this defense as teh season goes on..look at the patriots, is the patriots defensive personnel much better than ours? their entire secondary is filled with scrubs and sure they got torched for a few weeks, but their COACHING STAFF turned **** around and put players in a position to succeed. that hasn't happened here in Buffalo..if anything, our defense is getting worse as teh season continues. I'm not crazy about demanding that someone lose their job, but Edwards just does not appear to be qualified enough to be a Defensive Coordinator in this league. thus, he must go.

If I remember correctly, the Bills master plan for crappy coaches is to keep them for 3 years, apparently with some sort of disturbed fascination for seeing exactly to what depths of utter coaching crappiness they can descend to, then let them go and replace them with yet another guinea pig.

Therefore and thusly, instead of the FO rationally firing him after his first wretched season, or this wretched season, we will probably have yet a third wretched season of watching a middle school defense get snow plowed 11 or 12 games.

  13. I think in the beginning of the season, Gailey was a COTY candidate, but now OUR Bills are on a downward spiral. Listen I know we have less talent than 30 other teams in the league right now, but I have not seen Chan adjust his game-plan to fool other defenses, and the George Edwards hiring should automatically put him on a very tiny hot seat. I was never really a fan of his due to his failure to have elite teams at GT (Usually had a Top 25 recruiting class year in/out) and failure to go deep in the playoffs with a stacked Dallas team (Aikman, Smith, and Irvin (1 year)). I'm not saying fire him this year, but next year if he gets of to a slow start a la Dick Jauron should we fire. I mean he is 60, so he could retire soon. So what do you guys think.

It's not the coach as much as it is who he has to coach. The word depth should be stricken from the Bills vocabulary because they have none. Once the starters went down one after another, this team became impotent.

  14. What then? Is this improvement? Will Nix/Gailey claim improvement?

Does George Edwards get canned? How can they possibly keep him?

    Questions and more questions?

I think they take a QB in the 2012 draft if possible, and just draft BAP, all the way.

How could they have kept Edwards after last season's defensive hurl fest? Especially when they signed Wannstedt? I think it's 50/50 they do the same damn thing with Edwards they did with him last year. It seems to take the FO an average of 3 years of wretched performance to get it through their ancient craniums that someone on the coaching staff needs to be fired.

What's funny is you picking out three more games the Bills will win this season.

I'm looking over the schedule and wondering the same thing.

  15. it appears to be a legit ad in the works

i am debating between the 3 new offerings from verizon, less so the razr, and am leaning towards the rezound based solely on the beats audio feature, but the nexus is supposed to be 'all that'....plus if true, $100 less than the other 2

I don't know if Verizon offers it, but i have a Moto Photon (Sprint) and phonedog.com rated it the best wireless radio in terms of reception and voice volume/clarity of any phone they've ever tested. I agree, it absolutely is the best phone I ever had- battery life is incredible. Too many smart phones lack 3 things; reception, phone call volume/clarity and battery life. Photon rocks at all 3. They ran it head to head with the Google Nexus and the Photon came out on top. Dual core and bigger screen, too.
