  1. Hi Mafia:

I'm coming with my two boys (one is Giants fan, my fault) from NJ this weekend for their very first NFL game. I was an UB international student in the 90s. The last Bills home game I attended the QB was Rob Johnson. So please bear with me since I haven't been there for a long time.

First, can we enter the stadium with water bottles(with water)? I've checked the Bills site which doesn't say yes or nay. Also, any suggestions on the parking? We will be heading east after the game. Last, which tailgate party shouldn't we miss?

Thank you in advance and any info would help.

    Jeff

  2. I LOVE Duff's - sorry guys. I think they are still the best. Gabe's Gate too. I'm a little older now, so I have dialed down the heat - I go for mild-medium now - just right for me. Although I no longer go to the Sheridan Patio - too many "tourists" and UB Students - there isn't an hour during the day where you'd see a lull there. Those college kids eat non-stop and at all hours during the day. Always busy. So we go to the one on Dick Rd near George Urban Blvd - cleaner, brighter and a lot more space - not to mention we can always get a seat if we go before 6pm.

There's a bar called Raintree in Tonawanda. Is it still there? We, yes UB students, used to go there for Thursday night special, great wings!

  3. The answer is whatever shuts down the opponent best on that given day or play. 5-2 might get Williams, Carrington and Troup onfield at the same time, and that might be right for a given situation. You run what you need to.

DW is a 4-3. I'm wondering if he picked Buffalo because of the players we have. It's going to be interesting!

Re: Fitz, did anyone else see what happened when Fitz ran it head-first to the one yard line and got drilled? He got up and said something that made everyone crack up (perhaps, "Who's next?" or "Why the f- did I just do that?"). Anyhow, his teammates love him and play hard for him - that cannot be understated.

I saw the hit and was thinking if that was TE, he would be out with concussion!

  5. About 2 years ago directv sent me a small card with a "special" 800# for being a loyal customer. I never wait with that number and I know if they can ID your phone number and you are a long term customer they bump you ahead of others in queue.

I will not even share my special number with family.

I'm with Directv since 1998! I guess it's not long enough.

  6. I didn't have any issues yesterday but I did have a problem with one of the earlier games in the year. The funny thing was, I wasn't getting HD for the Bills game but I did for all the other games. I called DirecTV about it and they had no clue.

All I did was unplug my receiver and restarted it and everything was fine after that. Sometimes it's just your equipment and not the overall system.

I couldn't get through to the tech support (waited on the phone for 30 min). I tried the sales and finally talked to someone. She said they have issues with HD channels and give me $50 to calm me down!

  7. Can you go more into detail about that parking situation? I google mapped the 3831 Sheldon Rd and theres nothing out there. Just stores and stuff. Is this a parking lot or parking deck that i just pay to get into? I was gonna park in the stadium lot, but not so sure anymore.

That means you park on someone's front lawn or back yard. As you get closer to the stadium, you'll see signs for cheaper parking! Enjoy your trip, I missed those days!
