  1. Micheal Silver wrote an article for Yahoo sports saying that Darren McFadden is the best running back in the NFL. The guy he compares him to is Adrian Peterson. He never even mentions Freddy. Not to take anything away from those backs but come on. Give Fred his due. Did you see the blocking he did against the Pats? Lining up as a wide receiver and and icing the game in the fourth quarter? Running over, through, and around people? He went head to head with McFadden last week and owned him. Being a great running back mean more than running the ball. There isn't a better all around running back in the NFL than Fred Jackson!

  2. Any predictions. He made some good runs for first downs last week and held on to a deep pass that looked wide open. I would like to see a reverse.

OK, I changed my mind. A flea flicker to Fred

  3. I just had a thought that borders on tinfoil hat territory. Hear me out and tell me if I'm nuts.

Our first two games are against teams that are run freaking crazy. We line Merriman up as a DE and he plays most of the snaps in both games with his hand on the ground. He clearly was told to set the edge and I didn't even see him try to rush Campbell. The one time we absolutely need a sack was on the last play of the Raiders game. The guy beats a double team and if it wasn't for a blatant holding penalty(he was basically tackled in the backfield) he would of had a sack for sure.

In the preseason Merriman is virtually unblockable. Now all of a sudden we're being told that he's not ready to play a full game. That he's still trying to get to game shape, that he needs more time and a slower pace.

Is it possible that this entire situation is nothing more than a carefully orchestrated charade? Is it possible that Merriman has been playing possum? I've got to believe Gailey had this game circled on his calendar. Could this be an instance of brilliant gamesmanship?

I don't think Merriman has been holding back but you are right about the last play of the Raiders game. I think he will still be a force.

  4. I bet Freddy out runs McFadden in this game. Fred Jackson is a man with a chip his shoulders and I have a feeling he knows one way to prove his worth to the rest of the league is to out play McFaddin. I will never bet against Fred.

What do have to say now Raiderjoe? You need to bow down to Fred. Good game. Give it to the Jets next week:)

I will never bet against Fred!!

  5. This will be a tough game tomorrow but I think the deciding difference will be the home field advantage. Bills fans are hungry for this one. Most of us remember how cool it was to be at the stadium back when the Bills were a power house. Nice fall weather, a sold out crowd, and a team we can believe in will make tomorrow at the Ralph special. I wish I could afford the trip and the ticket. The Raiders don't have a clue what it is going to be like in our house tomorrow.

I still remember the Raiders playoff game where we ran all over them. I sat in the third row by the Raiders bench and someone threw a perfect snowball that bounced right off of Hostelers helmet at the end of the game. He was pissed and started to come into the stands:)It would be great to see the Raiders sent home with their tails between their legs again.

  6. Kyle Orton was Better qb than raiders QB. Did it really matter when you get dominated on both sides of the ball.

Thats okay if you believe that in your heart, i just hope you don't put any money on that. That a whole diffrent story.

Ok Raiderjoe, You have been having fun talking a good game on our site this week. I have enjoyed reading your post (except for the awful spelling and grammar errors). I will mail you five bucks if McFaddin has a better game than Fred. That's a subjective qualifier but I am a man of my word and will honor the spirit of the bet. You are a good fan of a good team but this week, on our field, our team, The Buffalo Bills, will win. I will PM you my address on Sunday:)

  7. This is a little crazy.

I think the Bills will win and I want a win badly. I really like Freddy and think he is one of the most underrated players (by the media) in the league, and I haven't nearly given up on Spiller yet.

However, McFadden right now is as good as they come. He is fully in his prime and he is an absolute beast. He's arguably playing as well, if not better, than any RB in the league.

Jackson is no doubt a good back, but you have to give the nod to McFadden. Not taking anything away from Fred, it's that McFadden is just that nasty.

If the Bills can lock down McFadden somehow, we win.

I bet Freddy out runs McFadden in this game. Fred Jackson is a man with a chip his shoulders and I have a feeling he knows one way to prove his worth to the rest of the league is to out play McFaddin. I will never bet against Fred.

  8. That third down and two play that he made was one of the best three yard runs I have ever seen. Fred is the man! He would not be denied. Three Chief's had him and he still made it. He delivered a bouquet of Flower's across the first down marker:)

  9. I noticed the same thing when I watched replays of last years games recently. I would add Donte this topic. Both were always in the neighborhood but rarely knocked on the door when it came to making plays. How we play against the run tomorrow will be a big indicator to how this season will go. If we can contain the run we have a chance to play with anyone, even "the team that will not be named".

  10. Marcia* definitely doesn't like it rough...I still remember the 2006 game when she* saw London Fletcher and Chris Kelsay bearing down on her* on 3rd & 10 at the Bills own 20 and, seeing no open receivers, elected to just sit down on the turf and take a voluntary sack! (Unfortunately, freakin' Kelsay dove into her* anyway, giving NE* the automatic first down.)

The Bills will beat up on the Patsies* this season - twice - and *Marcia's gonna cry just looking up and seeing Williams, Dareus, and Merriman ready to thump her*. It might be the first time you see and NFL player penalized just for glaring at her*...

    'Emotional Roughing'

'Baltimore Ravens linebacker Terrell Suggs was flagged for emotionally roughing Patriots quarterback Tom Brady yesterday after a hit left the star quarterback feeling upset and unloved.

“I didn’t care for that! I didn’t care for that one bit!” snapped Brady, stomping his foot as he pulled himself up off the ground. Moments later, official Tom Winter threw a flag, penalizing Suggs and the Ravens for an infraction never before called in organized football.

“The new rules in place make our job very clear as officials,” said Winter, explaining his call. “We are to protect the quarterback, especially star quarterbacks, and especially this star quarterback...

Brady says Winter made the right call.

“I don’t think people understand how hard it is to be me. I’m coming back from a knee injury, my team is struggling, I have one child out of wedlock, another child on the way, very high-maintenance dogs to take care of, I’m expected to look stylish all the time and I have the stress of physically satisfying a woman millions of men around the world would love a shot at. And then when someone tackles me, well …” he said, tearing up. “It can be very, very hard, okay? It can be very hard on my psyche.”

Suggs said he had no intention of emotionally harming Brady, only sacking him and maybe creating a turnover...

    GO BILLSSS!!!!

    19 and 0 baby!!!!! B-)

That was brilliant. Now I can face Monday with a smile on my face.

  11. I like our QB's and hope we get real creative with them this year. We have three decent QB's, not great but good. I think we should throw to Parrish, Spiller and Chandler from the wildcat a few times a game. With our O-line we need to keep Defenses off balance. I was pleased that we drafted for defense and skipped on Mallett.

  12. I know a lot of people think that the Dolphins are much better than the Bills and might take the division this year. Bull! The Saban love fest reminds me of when J.J. went to Miami and the press went on and on about how great the fins were going to be. We all saw how that turned out.

I was at the Fish game at the Ralph last year. It was only close in the end because our dim wit coaches let the Fish back into the game. We beat Saban and his Dolphins with last years coaching staff and no TKO. Fast forward to the game in Miami. I know it hurts. By the end of the half we had buried the Dolphins. Again, bad coaching let the fish back into the game and we lost one that we never should have lost. We easily could have sweep the Fins last year with the worst Bills team in recent memory. We had better talent than the Fins last year even though our coaches lost their minds, our o-line couldn't get out of their own way and our QB's were put in no win situations.

I know they haven't played yet but I think we have improved this years team. How could you not improve. The Fins aren't better than the Bills. With a little luck and some better coaching we can sweep the dirty, sinkin, rotten, pathetic, fish this year. The Pats look more vunerable than they have looked in five years and the Jets have more question marks than the Bills. Have hope fellow Bills fans. I know its a long shot but we could be looking at a competive season for the first time in a long time. Go Bills!

  13. Marv is going to look like a genius getting a good QB so cheap.

Looking at you user name and when you signed up for this board I'm wondering if you don't have a close personal connection to Mr. Nalljava script:emoticon('') If you do, tell him I'm rooting for him. Four years on the bench behind a legend seems like the perfect way to develop a QB that surprizes everyone. All this team really lacks is a little talent and leadership at the QB position. We haven't had a QB that a defense was scared of since Beldsoe was first here (until defense realize they could paralyze him with a little pressure). I know o-line, o-line. I think a couple of smart plays by the QB would help our new line out alot.

Anyway my money is on Nall. I'm saving this qoute until he leads us to our first playoff game next fall. Then everyone on this board will realize I should be the Bills GM.
