Another Jetsy trade - getting rid of Leonard Williams for very little. He *always* dominated the LoS in Bills-Jets games. He was unbelievable today.

I'm not complaining. I think it's ironic how Leonard Williams changed jerseys at the same address and has become our best pass rusher. But that also means he's going to cost a lot to re-sign. It's amazing how poorly the Jets are run. They could screw up Lawrence if they get him.

Say what you want but defensively we stink and that "fluke" play🤐? Against a legit defense it would be a fluke. Against ours it's just another bad play. Josh and Co are the reason we win in spite of our D. Having said that offenses are putting up big numbers around the league as it's become an air assault league so maybe it's more that than our defense is real bad.

It is because the NFL promotes offense. They overprotect QBs to a fault. Penalize defenses too much when some of the calls are mystifying. And it puts defenders at the mercy. So it's basically fantasy football. It's not football.

  4. Sometimes, crazy things happen in games. That was a wild game between two very good teams. Look at how great that drive was by Allen after the Bills blew the lead. He's definitely a resilient QB who can deliver in the clutch. Some great catches by Beasley and then Diggs on that TD.

The Cards basically pulled off a miracle. It happens. Murray had like no room when he threw that. It was just a fluky play. Not sure why nobody tried to get in front and knock it down. White is a great cover guy. So yeah. Hopkins outleaped all three guys to catch it. A great play. But someone should've knocked it out.

I think the Bills will be fine. A tough way to lose for sure. But they are a legit threat to Chiefs and Steelers. I still feel they win the division. They'll bounce back. The bye week comes at a perfect time.

There's still a lot to like about them. They're never out of a game. Very good offense led by dual threat Allen and the amazing Diggs. Plus Brown and Beasley. I do wonder if being able to run it more with Singletary would help. Defense struggles to stop the run. But has guys out still.

They have a shot to do something in January.

With Allen hopefully continuing to grown and become our franchise QB, I think WR is definitely the biggest need (I would argue we have the biggest spot on the OL locked down with Dawkins).

with that in mind, I figured to start a thread lookin g specifically at the top WR’a that are eligible to enter the 2019 draft.

I know now it’s not a very lauded class, but there seem to be A LOT of guys that aren’t top-10 talents, but have about 2nd round grades.

Just a few I can rattle off the top of my head are...

    AJ Brown-Ole Miss

    N’Keal Harry- Ari. St.

    DK Metcalf- Ole Miss

    Anthony Johnson- UB

    Who does everyone like?

    Who dont you like?

Who fits what we want to do with Allen?

I just have a feeling that they’ll look to get Allen targets in the draft. Tight end can be looked at separately, but I see WR as one of the teams main targets in the draft this season.

I'll be honest. I didn't know much about the others listed. But I knew Metcalf was a stud from seeing him. I'm not surprised what a explosive receiver he is due to his unique combination of size, strength and speed. He's elite. What happened to the other guys?

    With 107...

Granted the next 2 teams on the list, the LA Rams with 105 and Tennessee Titans with 96 have only played 8 games, but we will still be in the top 3 even after they play their 9th game...pretty crazy considering we were 20th last year...

In fact, we have already ran more play action this year than all of last year(107 this year to 105 last year). We also have the most yards off play action by almost 100 yards over the Rams(975 to 891)...

Very interesting new wrinkle Daboll has added...

I have always been a fan of running play action. Especially if you have a good QB who can make a great fake and get defenses to bite. It also helps to have a mobile QB like Allen who is a dual threat as a passer and runner. He can extend plays. That can be tough on opponents. That's the league now. Kyler Murray, Russell Wilson, Tua, Lamar Jackson, even Bridgewater.

I would like to one day include Daniel Jones because he's a good runner. But he has to become more consistent and not turn the ball over. The jury is out.

  7. My good friend Rob told me about it on Sunday. It helped explain Allen's magnificent performance. What a great tribute 👏 to his grandma. She's very proud. It reminded me of a XC race I ran on a frigid November 7th day 28 years ago for my grandfather. I gave my best effort for him. Kudos to the loyal and outstanding Two Bills Mafia community on every donation. You are a true extended family. Buffalo has great and passionate fans who deserve the year they're having. Keep it going.

  8. The line is Bills by 17 right now. As bad as the Fins are, they are starting Fitzmagic. Or will he be turned into Fitztragic by the excellent Buffalo defense?

Seventeen is a lot to cover. If Buffalo can get plus three in takeaways, then I say it's possible. However, I think it'll probably be closer than previously expected.

Take Dolphins (+17) to cover the spread.

    Final Score Prediction

    Dolphins 13

    Bills 27

Total points btw is 40.5. ?

    That could be close.

The Bills have demonstrated an almost magical ability to trade up to take the wrong player, which is an indictment of how bad their scouting and personnel decision making have been over the decades -- and that seems to regardless of the regime.   Their more recent trade up faux pas include trading back into the 1st in 2004 to draft JP Losman when they could have taken Matt Schaub in the 2nd or even maybe the third and gotten a significantly better QB -- or they could have simply waited until 2005 to take Aaron Rodgers with their #18 pick.  Russ Brandon and Dick Jauron traded back into the first round in 2006 to take John McCargo who barely played because of injury issues so just about anybody else would have been a better pick.  In 2012 Buddy Nix traded up in the third round to take forgettable WR TJ Graham instead of taking QB Russell Wilson.  In 2014, the  Bills traded their 2014 and 2015 first round picks to draft WR Sammy Watkins rather than Odell Beckham Jr or Mike Evans.  Finally, Brandon and McDermott traded up in the 2nd round in 2017 to take Zay Jones rather than JuJu Smith-Schuster.  Hopefully, Beane breaks the pattern because he traded up twice in the first round of the 2018 draft to take Josh Allen and/or Tremaine Edmunds.

I think the Bills finally are headed in the right direction. They got their QB last year in the very athletic Josh Allen. Now, they wound up with a good defensive player and line help to protect Allen. Maybe they finally have a plan. It's a lot better than the circus in East Rutherford.

  10. I know a couple of buddies who couldn't wait to get rid of Peterman in the off-season. Then, he had a good showing in preseason. But it's only preseason. Maybe they should've just kept McCarron. He probably would've been a wiser choice as a veteran backup than a unproven second year guy best known for the awful five interception atrocity.

Unless they thought it was this Peterman!

  11. It's hard to run the football when you have no line. Plus not good receivers. To be honest, it doesn't even matter. You can possess talent at both RB and WR. But if you have a poor OL and a immobile quarterback like Eli (20 sacks), it's hard to do anything consistently. Barkley puts up big numbers every week while Beckham pouts like the selfserving player he is.

I don't think Shady forgot how to run. He was awesome for the Bills last year and helped carry them to the postseason. I feel bad for Allen. He's getting banged around. It's not the best way to start a career. I wouldn't bring him back until the elbow is 100 percent. Buffalo has a good defense. If they could fix the line play and wideouts, they could compete.
