  1. Went on quite a bit about how much the loss of a versatile player like Smith hurts the Jets. Our gain, devision rivals loss. Music to my ears

    OK, A. It's "division" rival

    B. Why do you care what these ESPN jerk offs say? Most of these guys no nothing and the only reason you listen to them is because they are on TV.

The Bills are taking steps in the right direction, but here's the one thing they are missing: A franchise player!

  2. LINK:http://espn.go.com/blog/nflnation/post/_/id/23022/clayton-raiders-preparing-to-cut-russell

Now I know Russell was maybe the worst QB in the league for the Raiders, but he does have a cannon, and is young.

So with that in mind, any chance we (the bills) or you as a Bills fan, has interest is Russell?

Keep in mind, Russell did play for the Raiders. I am not making excuses for the young man, but it is hard to develope into a superstar, or even a good player when the Raiders draft you. No matter how good or talented you were supposed to be. (i.e. Huff, Gallary, McFadden, etc)

I am not under the dillusion that russell is the answer for the Bills, but if he were cheap and easily signed, would you remotely be interested?

    My answer: NO

PUT DOWN THE CRACK PIPE .... and just walk away!!!

  3. The cast just cut up the Bills for this hire. Anybody else watching? Some of the "highlights" :

-Wood Paige said Gailey is the "offensive version of Dick Jauron, a conservative, nice guy."

-Not the best choice and that Frazier would be the better choice. Blackistone said "it used to be you hired the hot defensive co-ordinator."

-Gailey is a good OC, bad HC. His so-called experience as a HC resulted in ho-hum results. His time at Dallas was shortlived and he did "okay." He was average at best at GT and most of his seasons were 7-win seasons.

I'm trying to have an open mind and be positive but right now I'm doing this:

Woody Paige is a moron, and that might actually be an insult to other morons. .... Gailey is not a big name or sexy pick, but if you do your homework you'll find he's put together a solid track record in the NFL. Two years in Dallas and two trips to the playoffs - better than anything the Bills have had since Wade was here. ... and remember Belichick wasn't exactly a mastermind in Cleveland now was he????

  4. The Bills are going to get stuck with a bottom of the barrel coach because the "real" candidates are scared off by:

    A. Ralph being old and the shaky future of team in terms of ownership.

    B. Ralph being cheap.

    C. Buffalo not an attractive place for free agents to go.

    D. Bad reputation from past coaches - Mularkey, Greggy Williams, etc. about how they were treated in the Buff.

While else would guys like Russ Grimm and Little Schotty snub being interviewed by the Bills??? There's only 32 NFL head coaching jobs, and if you are an assistant you should be thrilled to get AN INTERVIEW for a head job, not run from it.

  5. What he accomplished last season was doing enough to get him a 3-year $9M contract from the Lions this off-season. Although I don't know what he was offered by the Bills, so he may have lost money on the deal.

Read your post again - he went to the L-I-O-N-S. The freaking Lions will sign anyone right now. Johnson has been a slightly below average pro in his NFL tenure - that's it.

  6. This is likely the same situation as what happened with Bryant Johnson last year. The Bills probably offered a deal longer than 1-year (likely 3) for an average salary more than what he ended up accepting (say $1.5M a year, versus the $1M he'll make with the Bears), but below what he felt he deserved. But the player took the 1-year deal in order to "showcase" himself for a year and then hit the jackpot on the market the following year. Now it worked for Johnson, mostly because the Lions are, well, the Lions, and every team is looking for WR help. But Tinoisamoa is a cover-2 LB'er, in a league that is moving-away from that scheme. If he doesn't play lights-out and get the Bears to re-sign him, his NFL career is basically over. Time will tell if he made the right move.

Bryant Johnson accomplished what last season?

45 catches, 546 yards, 3 TDs ---- yup, wish he would have come to Buffalo, would have made a huge difference.

  7. Of course there's no way he could be talking about another NFL team, right? There's only freaking 32 teams in the league, but even though he fails to mention the Bills by name in the quote, it has to be them, right?

You're an idiot - go root for the Dolphins!!! We don't want you on our bandwagon.

  8. Adam Schefter has disappeared from NFL Network

What's up with Adam Schefter, alumnus of Bellmore Kennedy High and one of the NFL Network's most recognizable figures?

Schefter hasn't blogged on NFL.com since March 3, hasn't appeared on "Total Access" since March 6 and now is nowhere to be seen at the owners' meetings in California.

All Schefter would say about it Monday was this: "I’m under contract to NFL Network until the middle of August, and I’ve been very happy there and I’m hoping we can work things out."

Hmm. OK, so it appears there is a lack of an agreement on the financial terms of a contract extension. From what I have heard, this involves a quite substantial gap.

But why the mysterious disappearance from the network at the busiest time of the offseason?

The NFL Network's statement on this matter: "We are moving forward with the talented staff who will be on NFL Network and NFL.com during the 2009 season."
