  1. It seems that Goodell was pretty happy with the evidence he had on the bounty case but the NFL won't share it. Now Vilma gets to see the evidence and see what the NFL had on him that merited a one-year suspension and the NFL will be obligated to share it with him. I wonder if this has more to do with the suspension than anything else.

How could the bounty statements have damaged his character any worse than the damage done by his being attached to the University of Miami football program!

  2. More like "Mired in trouble for the 2000's". I'm almost always Mr. Optimism when it comes to the Bills (I supported Rob Johnson!) but this season looks like it'll be very tough to watch.

Muggins -- No shame in that. I still have a "Bills Football" T-shirt that has "Johnson - 11" on the back. I wanted to throw it out but my friends make me wear it because I supported RJ over Flutie back in the 90's. I get sympathetic looks when I wear it to the gym.

  3. Yes. I love the Bills but I prefer watching them at home with sound in the confines of my own home and drinking my own homebrew. There is a Bills bar in my area that I liked going to for the 2007 season but if I couldn't make it to a game then I missed it because I couldn't tape it. I hope that NFLTicket runs the same deal for 2010 that they did for 2009.

  4. I believe that Smith was given some time when Boller was injured and he played well. He was going to be the starter in 2008 but came down with tonsilitis (or something like that) and lost a lot of weight. Before he got sick, Ray Lewis and the other starters all supported him going into the season as the starter. Flacco ended up the starter and the rest is history. I watched Smith a lot in college and always said that he would be, at minimum, a competent back-up. I think that he is not the long-term solution at QB but would certainly be a good stop-gap for the next 1-2 years while the Bills starighten out their offensive line. I liken him to a younger version of Doug Flutie.
