  1. As far as a workout warrior, I would prefer a guy who knows where the gym is as opposed to the buffet.

In most players I would agree but at DT I'd rather have a big ol fat ass holding the line vs the smaller gym rat that gets blown off the ball by the big tub of goo accross from him.

  2. All these posts calling of Marv to take Huff or Davis are driving me nuts. The only player that makes sense for us at #8 (if he's still there) is Ngata. You just don't pass on a chance to get a talented monster like this.

I guess some people have forgotten what happened to the defense when Donahoe let Fat Pat walk. Well I'll remind you. Our D fell from 2nd to one of the worst in the league. I'm not blaming it all on the loss of Williams but you know darn well that had a lot to do with it.

A big, nasty DT will make our entire defense better. Every other position on D benefits when that big ol DT blows up the middle. We saw it with Fat Pat and all the NFL talking heads on Sirius are saying that Haloti is one of those rare athletic big man that doesn't come around that often. As to the argument that he won't fit the cover 2 scheme I don't buy it. Adjust the scheme if you have to (good teams teams do this all the time to get their best players on the field). Don't know why Ourlads hates the guy but they seem to be alone in their assessment. I don't know much about Ourlads but maybe someone who does can opine on their accuracy evaluating talent.

If Marv takes another 1st round 'glitz' offensive player like Davis then I'll have to wonder why Mr. Wilson even bothered to fire Ol Whitey.

    OK, slam away.

  3. Ditto.  At least ICE could talk football, unlike some of the new kids on the block who are only concerned with their avatars, typing all in caps or creating meaningless polls, one after another.

Nothing like ICE hopping from one side of the fence to another. :D

    I miss Hogboy

  4. The game was properly officiated, including, as in most NFL games, some tight plays that produced disagreement about the calls made by the officials," NFL spokesman Greg Aiello said in a statement.

Just the fact that the NFL feels compelled to issue this "explanation" tells me that it's not just "the conspiracy theorists" on this board that believe that bad officiating effected the outcome.

Methinks they doth protest too much.

  5. torn achilles is a devastating injury that as far as i can tell usually ends a players or career or at least slows them considerably.  lawrence was slowed considerably and retired a year after coming back at the age of 33.  and yesterday we learned that former bills TE riemersma is retiring due to the injury too.  anyone have a good handle on usually happens, examples of careers it ended or shortened and examples of players that came all the way back?  i'd obviously love it for takeo to come back 100%, but i wonder if we're all being a bit dilusional by not focusing on the real potential for a new OLB to replace him.

2006 comeback player of the year...Takeo Spikes

  6. Is it just me, or does it seem there seems to be no rush in interviewing anyone for the job, except for Dick Jauron.  We get permission to talk to Sean Payton days ago, and then what?  He takes a job in NO while he's waiting for Levy to call??  Mangini?  Did anyone contact him?  Rivera is free to talk now...why no interview scheduled?  Haslett has been floating like a fart in the air for a week now!!

I want to believe in Levy and Wilson, but they gotta show me something.

Maybe the guy they want is not yet available i.e. LeBeau. After watching the way Pitt's D dealt with Manning & Co. I wouldn't be surprised.

  7. I agree.  The media, and fan base for thgat matter, have been downright abusive toward Mularkey.  They were the same with Williams, and I fear will be the same with anyone who comes here and doesnt win right off the bat.  You have A$$wipes like Sullivan in the media who are always trying to manipulate the bills into making certain moves.  Look at his last article pressing for Cotrell for DC.  He is a little twit that has an open forum to sling crap and make "Dawgged" suggestions.  Buffalo has a single media outlet in The Buffalo News and seldomly is anything uplifting generated from that rinky dink paper.  Mularkey was not my choice for coach at the time.  I wanted Weis, but that is beside the point.  My point is that Buffalo is going to have a hard time selling itself to the top available coaches, and that, my fellow Bills fans, is a real bummer!

Honestly, who wants a head coach who can't handle a little criticism. If MM's that fragile he's in the wrong business.

  8. I love LOTR as much as anyone on this board, but you guys have waaaaay too much free time on your hands.  0:)

    That said:

The Steelers should be the Black Riders

The Patriots should be the Nazgul.

Jim Kelly is Aragorn (reluctant to be in Buffalo at first, but became King).

    Takeo Spikes is Legolas.

London Fletcher is Gimli (because he's short for a linebacker).

I haven't figured out Gollum yet, but remember he wants a ring verrrrry badly, so I guess it could be anyone in the Bills front office.  :D

Lindell is Gollum. He's helping the team but still scares the hell outa me.

  9. Other than his first year, what were his reasons for sucking the rest of the time???  Also, good coaches get the team to rally from adversity.  The hurricane is a big thing to deal with, but they mailed the season in half-way through the second game of the season.  Lack of effort goes righ back to the coach...

How did Haslet's Saints do against Mularky's Bills this year?

  10. Then Mularkey has Holcomb start as maybe a compromise to Ralph Wilson granted Moulds request not to Play with JP losman for the remainder of the season because Holcomb gives Moulds the best chance to catch the ball. Plus with moulds and Ralphj seeing the writing on the wall that he will be playing his final two games in Buffalo, Moulds wants to showcase his skills to the prospective teams so he can get the money he wants.

    545013[/snapback]

You're kidding right? They benched J.P. because they think Holcomb gives them the best chance to save THEIR OWN jobs. These people don't give a rat's behind about letting Moulds "showcase his skills to other prospective teams".

  11. Had seats in the lower bowl for years but since my wife attended the games with me we got a couple seats in the Jim Kelly Club when they first came out. Not all club seats are under cover. Ours were in the front row and out in the open. The tradeoff was the extra leg room and well worth it (no big butts in your face as people moved back & forth to their seats). Wifey loved the heated seats when it got cold.

DEFINITELY a better atmosphere for women or kids. Would still have them if we hadn't moved south.

Kind of a pain to get out of the commitment so don't get them unless you plan to keep them through the length of the contract.
