Mark my words, we fire McD we won’t sniff the same amount of success for the rest of Josh’s career.

Im not going to throw away one of the winningest coaches this shite franchise has ever seen after a down season. No way.

As I heard on a podcast somewhere, McD is the modern day version of Matty Schottenheimer and/or Chuck Knox.  He will only get this team so far, but never to the very top.

  2. I don't think I saw it last night, but I've seen other games where McD is actively talking on the headset and covering his mouth with a playsheet while the team is on OFFENSE.  It suggests to me that he is more active in the play calling vs. just delegating to Dorsey.  I could be wrong, but I think his nature is to be very controlling.  That said, they should still move on from Dorsey....the sooner the better.

So let me get this straight.  We score with ease the opening drive and then slow down the tempo and style to experiment with schemes.  This might explain why the offense at beginning of games are moving the ball, only to become stagnant for 2 1/2 quarters with three and outs. Then in the fourth quarter we go uptempo because we r behind and then by magic start moving the ball again and start scoring. Got it.  Genius.  And silly me thought you continue to use what works for you until the opposing team has adapted. If not you continue to exploit those weaknesses. SMH. No wonder this offense looks so bipolar.  Must be tough as a player to find any sort of rhythm sometimes.

It's the McD way.....fix something that is NOT broken (up tempo successful first drive) with something that is not working (slow it down, complimentary mumbo jumbo) because he is smarter than anybody else.

Prior to this year, Sean McDermott has done the following in the first 3 rounds of the draft:

    2022:

    Round 1: Defense

Round 2: Offense - James Cook

    Round 3: Defense

    2021:

    Round 1: Defense

    Round 2: Defense

Round 3: Offense - Spencer Brown

    2020:

    Round 2: Defense

Round 3: Offense - Zack Moss

    2019:

    Round 1: Defense

Round 2: Offense - Cody Ford

Round 3: Offense - Devin Singletary

Round 3: Offense - Dawson Knox

    Big free agent dollars:

    DaQuan Jones

    Von Miller

    Expensive defensive re-signings:

    Jordan Poyer

    Micah Hyde

    Taron Johnson

    Ed Oliver

People might want to give McDermott a pass on injuries? Ok ... well the Bills spent a TON of draft capital on defense and a TON of free agent dollars on defense as well. For such a defensive genius, you'd think we wouldn't be ranked bottom in the league.

IMHO - this is the root of our current problems (besides coaching).  Our drafting has been HORRIBLE in terms of impact players on D.  Bad scouting?  Bad GM?  Bad McD judgment?  I don't know who is the driver behind all these  bad picks, but we have had to depend on FA signings to help cover our poor drafting.

We find new ways to beat ourselves. Whether it's Josh, Gabe, Knox, Kincaide. We just beat ourselves down over and over. The defense is overrated and overmatched right now and the offense and special teams aren't helping them.

Overmatched maybe (due to injuries), but I don't think it's overrated....there no delusion it is good at all
