I used to be certified with the Red Cross in First Aid and CPR and was a lifeguard for a couple years. I never hear of sugar for shock, but I could have been asleep in class. Everything else sounded dead nuts on though.

All of that said, the Sabres and the Bills are just an icing on the cake for me.
That is a perfect way of putting it.

looks like it is time to pull out your check book Time Warner.

Yeah, I saw that one too. After living down south for 10 years, I miss all of WNY. It's not just the professional sports teams; I miss the food, the people, the lack of traffic, the sports teams, lack of sprawl, family, friends, four distinct seasons, and so on. Hell, I even miss the little stuff, like the "NYS Inspection Station" sign that hung on the gas station I'd stop at on the way to work. I don't dislike the South per se, but I can think of 1000 reasons I'd rather be back home.
I could not agree more. If my wife asks me why I would want to move back and I say, "Because I miss the Bills." I guarantee that would be the last time we had that conversation. I would also not trade my time away from Buffalo for all the tea in China, but I would also love to move back up North. I have a new perpective on things having been away from the area for a bit and recommend that everybody jump ship, even if for a short time. The problem with Buffalo is that 99.9 percent of people who live there are from there. There are no new ideas or fresh blood coming into the region. Get out a bit, expeience some new stuff.

One of the main reasons I choose to stay in the area is the Bills.
I love the Bills as well, but if you are making life decisions based on the Bills you might want to re-evaluate some things.

We have a new offensive coordinator this year. I wouldn't sweat it.

Resolution, or picture detail, is the main reason why HDTV programs look so good. The standard-definition programming most of us watch today has at most 480 visible lines of detail, whereas HDTV has as many as 1,080. HDTV looks sharper and clearer than regular TV by a wide margin, especially on big-screen televisions. It actually comes in two different resolutions, called 1080i and 720p. One is not necessarily better than the other; 1080i has more lines and pixels, but 720p is a progressive-scan format that should deliver a smoother image that stays sharper during motion (for more on progressive scanning, see our primer). Another format is also becoming better known: 1080p, which combines the superior resolution of 1080i with the progressive-scan smoothness of 720p. True 1080p content is extremely scarce, however, and none of the major networks has announced 1080p broadcasts.
CNet has a lot of good info on the subject...

I have an older HDTV, probably 4 years old now and recently I started noticing a dark "shadowy" line going down the left side of the picture. It was extrememly visible when golf was on with the bright green grass on the screen. Anyway, my wife called me and told me that now there's just a black screen. She can hear the sound but no picture. Is it worth it to try to take it somewhere and get it fixed or should I just get a new one? It weighs a fu ton and I hate trying to move it anywhere since I can't myself and my wife's a little wimpy..
I want to get a new one, LCD type, at least 40 inches. My old one is 36 inch and not widescreen. Help anyone?
I too am looking to upgrade from my 36 regular to a flat screen HD type. I'll give you this advise, be careful with screen sizes on the new TVs as they can be deceiving. They are not as tall, but much longer. If you want soemthing comperable to a 36" regular, you need to go with a 46" LCD. Personally, I have been looking to go 50" plasma. Panasonic and Samsung (obviously Sony as well) are considered top in class. I have seen the 50" Panasonic for as low as $1999 on sale. Usually, the 50" Panasonic and Samsung are around $2400. With TVs, BIGGER is always better.

it's hard to imagine but they're so attached to that stupid hole in the roof that their new multi-billion dollar stadium will have one too!

The Bills are leaving?

If you build it, they will come.

You're asking the wrong question. The correct question to ask is "How many of you guys claiming this guy is a kitty have made a commitment to serve in the military only to abandon your fellow soldiers, wife and child to go running home -- with absolutely no notice to anyone but your mommy -- because you couldn't keep your commitment?"
That's where my issue is. I keep my commitments to my family and my country so yes, he's a !@#$ing coward kitty piece of schit.
I highly doubt he did not inform his wife what was going on and "abandon" his child. She was military as well and if she would have admitted to knowledge of him going awol there would have been repercussions for her. Just my 2 cents.

"Patrick Hart, who was in the Army 9½ years and served nearly a year in Kuwait in 2003."
Just curious...How many of you guys claiming this guy is a kitty have served overseas in the military for a year or have even been in the military?
I don't approve of his actions, but I do understand why he did what he did.

Somebody once stole the windshield wipers along with the wiper arms off of my truck and replaced them with their old ones which were obvously the wrong size. I didn't notice until I was driving home, used my squirts, and the blade arms started flopping around. $70 a piece for new blade arms and $10 a piece for the wipers. If I could have caught the clown that did it, I would have ruined his year and then some.

What Do The Sabres Need To Win it All?

If the Sabres developed some kind of harness he would wear that they could attach to one of his line mates so they could haul his carcass up and down the ice I might think about it.
