  1. you would be throwing your money out the window. while the bills are from the best team in the league, i do not see this game as being close. the bills should and will trounce the raiders this weekend. a smarter bet would be to take the bills and the 3. money inda bank!

After looking at all the games this week, does anyone else think that a solid bet would be Oak - 3?

Now before you jump all over me, I am talking purly financially and gambling wise. I would NEVER root against the bills, and I have never bet against them before.

The thing is (and in my crazy mind my reasoning would be) is that if i bet them, and they do end up losing (and I win my bet), at least the loss hurts a little less. And if i bet them and the Bills win, sure i lose $50, but the Bills win, so who cares.

That, and the fact that I think this would be a solid bet.

I really dont think I'll do it, and please don't respond saying Im not a Bills fan, blah, blah, crap.

I am a Bills fan, Im here every fugging day, Im just wondering if you looked at this and said "we're only getting 3?" like i did...

  2. time ususally does heal alot, and if you cannot get over something as "unimportant" as sports, then you have bigger issues(not saying you as in Rubes, just you in general)

I don't particularly care about baseball, never did. No skin off my back. Just interesting to see how hurt a lot of people were, and how many said they could never really cheer for baseball as a sport anymore. Time seems to have healed that wound.

  3. that would be cool to see, that whole underground thing!

My aunt, who now does freelance graphic design in rochester, started her career in Disney. Before moving to the graphic department there (you can imagine how hard it is to break into graphic design at a place like Disney) she drove the monorail to make ends meet. Anyway, she told me how the "behind the scenes stuff" at Disney is actually all under ground. When you are walking down the streets of magic kingdom, there is basically another entire city underground. Shops, changing rooms, restaurants, etc, for all the employees.

She said the strangest would be to go down there on a break and see the characters with the full costume on, except for the head. She said a good amount were midgets, and you would see them, in a donald duck (for example) suit, smoking a cigerette and bitching, not stop, about the kids. She said if any kid walked around down there, they would have nightmares for the rest of their lives.

I wish she had taken pictures back then...

  4. when i was a kid at disney, i remember i was posing with mickey mouse and i kept patting him on the head, he turned around and was ready to belt me. ya gotta remember that they are probably extremely hot in those costumes, the banging on the heads probably reverberates like crazy and dealing with people pulling them every which way. That has to be a hellacious job. now there is no excuse for molesting people, but charges were dropped.

HOLY CRUD!  I know its not cool making fun of others but cheeze and rice, did that guy get his head caught in a vice?  his head and face look squished!

  5. yeah no doubt, there is so much music out there that not everyone has to listen to the what every one else listens to. thats what makes rock and roll and music in general so cool. some day you may listen to randy newman and "discover" an appreciation for him, as I have done with a great number of bands and musical styles.

That's cool, but He's so far off my radar screen I guess I should reserve any comment...But to each his own Brother!!

  6. randy newman is awesome, don't let his short people and toy story works cloud your judgement(not that there is anything wrong with them), but his whole collection as a songwriter is awesome, he is not middle of the road type performer but he is up there in the singer/songwriter echelon, every bit if not more deserving than the likes of john prine, john hiatt and that genre of musicians.

Oh it's a joke alright, but it's certainly not funny to me...

They (the "HOF") make a mockery out of the words "Rock and Roll." Randy freaking Newman??? You've got to be kidding me...But there are worse examples I guess...

I did not reaize VH was eligible yet, then I went and looked at my VH 1 CD and it was a 1978 release. How in Gods name does VH not get in almost immediately? What...did Eddie not have enough influence on Rock Guitar? What a joke...And I'm not even going to get into the Sabbath thing because that is simply a travesty. Sabbath should have gone in directly behind Led Zep as far as I'm concerned. Their influence on Hard Rock was SO significant...just ask Chris Cornell...

Anyway, the other one that has had me despising this farce for years is of coarse KISS. I mean, like them or hate them, how in the hell can you not include KISS in the R&R Hall of Fame if for nothing else the massive following they maintained forever...

I can go into a LONG list of inducties who should have been embarassed to get in before Sabbath, KISS, and VH for God's sake....Ugh, this just pisses me off so much everytime I talk about it I can barely type....

  7. It all starts with on simple phrase.

"HI, my name is Foxboro mike, and i am a bledsoe basher!"

you seem to be well on your way!

I'm pretty sure that my opinion of Drew Bledsoe is pretty well-known on Two Bills Drive.  Is this an understatement?  :D

I started a thread critiquing Bledsoe this AM that was greeted with a lot of consternation and knashing of teeth.  My comments were meant to be light-hearted, to ignite a spirited debate on the board, and to tweak the Bledsoe apologists a little (hey, I'm being honest).  My goal wasn't to offend, I swear.  I love the good-natured back and forth and ripping on each other's teams, as well as the good, solid football talk.  :D Part of the fun of being a sports-fan is busting on the opposition, IMO.

Even I can see at this point that my opinions regarding Drew are tired and have run its course.

So, for those of you who despise my Drew-bashing (and me), here it is:  Consider my Drew-Bashing a thing of the past; I'm on Twelve-Step Statue recovery program.  I'm admit I've been excessive in my vocal critique of 'ol #11, and I pledge to not unnecessarily or gratuitously slander Bledsoe going forward in any way.  Any criticism of him will be valid, straightforward and as gentle as possible, I promise.

I hope you'll allow me these last words on the subject, if only to get it out of my system:

    Statue, Albatross, Cerebral, patpatpatshufflesack.

    My pledge starts... NOW.

I only hope the Dead Horse Beaters Club can forgive me.  ;)

McGahee's ACL became Foxboro Mike, I can do it againTo quote Rocky IV:  If I can change, you can change, anyone can change!!!" :P

Edit:  Whoops, need to change my signature too.

  8. HA HA HA!!! What a Loser!

Just kidding. Sorry to hear it and here's to getting back quickly!

:D And get FIRED?  Yep it happened this morning at 9 am. So I go to the Bills game, Catch some bug, They lose thanks to an ass reaming by the refs then get fired this morning.

Well the good thing is the "threes" has happened. Maybe it is good luck from here on out

  9. never mind, answered my own, and it was curbside propeht, not sidewalk

I know alot of you were having a great time in buffalo this weekend, but for the rest of us.....this weekend on austin city limits was a band fronted by a white guy playing guitar, singing a song and one of the recurring lyrics had something about a sidewalk prophet.  Anyone know who it was?  was it jason mraz?  i liked the song, any one know?  thanks in advance.

  11. Good One, I too hate that one! Knock on wood I have never had to be PENAL-ized but it has been close.

    This is an easy one.

The "Dick-Out" rule.  You know in golf when your playing from the Men's tees.  You get the big dog out, step up to the tee box, take a hack like Tiger, and sure as stevestojan........your ball goes 20 yds and doesn't make it past the women's tee.

This is where the "Dick Out" rule comes into play.  Section IV, rule 36B, paragraph 3.  When any male playing from the white tees fails to hit his drive farther than the ladies tee box, he must finish the hole with his dick out.

Fortunately I have never had to do this myself, although many of my golf partners have.
