  1. For some Bills fans rooting for the Bills and being optimistic is not an optional alternative. I am a Bills Fan. I have been so since 1960 when my World War II vet dad let me know how the original All America Football Conference screwed the Bills (the 2nd most successful franchise in the league) and accepted the Browns, the 49'ers and the Colts into the NFL and dropped the Bills. I have been a die hard ever since. I will be an optimist every year. I will find the silver lining in every cloud. I will hope that this year is the year that it all comes together. I am convinced that this year that Merriman, Williams and Dareus will turn this season around. I was convinced that Monte Ledbetter would turn the season around in the late 60's. For those of you that want to lament that we have not made the playoff for ten years and that the franchise will not turn around until the owner dies, the management changes or karma blesses us, you are missing out on the wonderful feeling of optimism that begins every season. Am I fooling myself? Maybe. But the great thing is I wont know until we see how it plays out and until then I am an optimist. I am one of the crazies that spends a large portion of my disposable income on Bills tickets. Guess what, it is people like me that have kept the Bills in Buffalo. So, forgive me for hoping for the best. Sorry for not doing the woe is me routine. If us optimists leave, the Bills are the Los Angeles Clippers.

  2. i like donte. guy plays with passion and is a student of the game. he just seems to have a bit of an inflated sense of value (which he may be coming down on) and is a bit a a twitter drama queen. i don't think there is any question about his desire to win or that he is a team player. i'm just not sure if he reallt fits here with his personality and i wish him the best wherever he goes. i just think if he comes back it may be a bit awkward.

    Yeah

  3. Yeah

We keep a player: "We overpaid. No one else wanted him. Great, lets keep this 4-12 team intact. I swear I'm done with this team!"

We lose a player: "WTF is wrong with this front office? Ralph is cheap! Now we're worse than a 4-12 team! I swear I'm done with this team!"

We sign a free agent: "We overpaid. No one else wanted him. I saw him play once and I thought he sucked. I swear I'm done with this team!"

We lose out on a free agent: "WTF don't we have $39M in cap space? What are we saving it for? Friggin' Ralph is cheap! I swear I'm done with this team!"

  4. It's called not worrying about what you can't control. The Bills can't run its draft worried about what the Pats are going to do. What I really love is how no one EVER questions Belichick's draft record. Everyone is in awe at how he trades his draft picks but no one asks why on earth they drafted 2 RBs or why they took an OT who wasn't even a 1st RD prospect. As for the draft picks all they did is push the same picks forward. When you have their record then I guess you've earned every benefit of the doubt but I don't think they've done dick in this draft, Mallett or not.
