It's a really fascinating idea. No doubt it would be unpopular from the perspective of the fan that physically goes to the games because they might not get to see their favorite player play. Would be really interesting from the team perspective...basically would give each individual player 2 or 3 bye weeks rather than 1 and then there would be the strategy of "Do we bench all our good players the same week and just hope our backups can pull it off so that we're at full strength for 16/18 games? Or do we bench some sporadically so that we're never at full strength but we're at pretty good strength all 18 games?

I don't really see this happening but it's a fascinating idea to consider.

How about this? Let's give each team at least two bye weeks, and not be greedy enough to expect full admission price for preseason games? That would be the smartest set of moves long-term

  2. I am excited for this year's Prem. I am not happy about my Spurs not buying a single player. I am happy that they didn't sell anyone and extended some key players.

I also can't wait to see the new stadium open up, if it doesn't get delayed any further.

Stop being a tight arse and support your local newspaper!

If an Aussie can pay the $3.00 then so can a Buffalo native.

FFS, you probably spend more on your morning bagel and coffee.

to be fair, the morning bagel and coffee gives more fulfillment than a Sully article usually does (except when he is eating crow for being massively wrong)

If you actually read my posts, I said these are the most polarizing players to the fan base in 2018.  Obviously the more recent players are more topical than guys who played during the 1970’s.  Seems like someone else is also not too bright

If I read the title, it says in franchise history. This means that during the time of their tenure in Buffalo, they were polarizing or afterwards there is reasonable debate about them.

For me in no particular order,

Kelly- Great QB, who didn't want to be here, drank like a fish, and beat women.

OJ- during career had one eye always on Hollywood, post career had one hand one on the knife.

    Ralph- because he was cheap.

RJ/Flutie- the debate lingered for a long time, one QB aged, the other just sucked

Tyrod- guy leads team to playoffs first time in almost 20 years, and is still traded to Cleveland.

It reminds me more of the '99 draft where 5 QB's were taken in the top 12 (Couch -1st pick , McNabb- 2nd, Akili Smith - 3rd, Culpepper 11th, McCown -12th).  There was no clear cut consensus number one at quarterback as Akili Smith was believed to have the best arm.  Ironically, the Browns had the first pick and many believed RIcky Williams to be a generational player (especially Ditka) like Barkley is at RB.

It's definitely possible that Darnold, Rosen, Mayfield, Allen, and Jackson go in the top half of the draft.  It's also probable you're going to get the same number of hits and busts at QB.

12th was Cade McNown, not to be confused with either of the McCowns

Could this years draft be similar to the 1984 QB draft that we have not had since?  There is a real possibility the top 6 QB's could all be successful (some more than others) but maybe this could be a duplicate type draft finally.  We need a new era of young QB's to start taking over for the older ones that are nearing their end!  I just get a feeling 4 or 5 may end up successful QB's in the league.  Hopefully we end up with one of them!

    Thoughts??  Go Bills!!

Do you mean the 83 draft w/ Elway, Marino, Kelly, Eason, Blackledge, and O'Brien?

I just said it. He can actually throw a ball tyrod cannot . Three of those ints were not pertermans fault. Didn’t you hear Bosa say “they aren’t even blocking me”.

You do realize that it is the same ****ty line that couldn't block against the Jests or the Saints.

I like Peterman as a developmental QB, but you have to be on crack if you think the he is actually better than Tyrod. Peterman's decision making skills were rough as he couldn't sense the pressure at all.

touch over 6x by population (53mill vs 320mill), which is the real factor in expenditure.

plus, EPL is for all intents and purposes the only pro sports league in England (I know, there's pro rugby but its like comparing the MLS to NFL).

combining the Big 4 in the US gets $31 billion spent on pro sports vs $5.3 billion on EPL

roughly per capita, England and the US spend the same on pro sports:

    US - 96.75

    UK - 100.00

Great analysis... The other big thing about EPL is that it is the most watched league around the world. I love watching the EPL games every weekend from August to May, and am delighted that my Tottenham Hotspur had their highest finish in 50 years. I imagine that more foreigners watch EPL than the NFL, which accounts for higher than expected revenues.

  9. its a messy law. NC is moving to become conceal carry no permit. It'll be great. The concealed part is due to people who have it non visible, say their car door or something.several friends must ride with it on the seat beside them or place it on the dash when pulled. But if its in the glove box or console its concealed. A no no without permit

Oh, and ohio isn't open carry.

    http://www.pbs.org/newshour/updates/ohios-open-carry-gun-law-ratchets-security-concerns-rnc/

Last year with the RNC in Cleveland, the police chief wanted open carry laws suspended during that time.

So, Ohio is a limited open carry state. It still makes no sense to me that you can walk down the street with a gun visible, but must have a permit to lock it in your glove compartment.

  10.

He's a modern day Marty Schottenheimer, IMO. Solid but not spectacular. Very good regular season coach who usually fields a good, competitive squad but can't get over the hump in the playoffs. Schotty lost 3 AFC Championship games, Reid lost 4 NFC Championship games. Both have over a .600 winning percentage in the regular season but both are under .500 in the playoffs. Reid has been a much better playoff coach than Schotty though.

That is a tad unfair to Reid as he did make it to the big game once to the lose to the Pats* with Donovan McNabb running the most pathetic attempt of a hurry up offense over the final ~ 5 minutes of game time.

  11. OJ Anderson could say it. Giants don't come close to winning without him against us.

A little bit of apples and oranges. Riggins and the hogs carried those skins teams, Anderson had a defense that was really damn good, and Simms during the regular season. Anderson blew up for that game, where Riggins and the line were the main reason the skins were a perennial contender.
