  1. don't really know what to say. shocking doesn't do it justice.

of all the disappointments (mario, fitz, no pass rush, safety play), dareus' sucktitude might be the worst. compounding that problem is the fact that there are a few hall-of-fame type of talents drafted right after him. would certainly be par for the !@#$ing course if we swung and missed again in the top 5 of a draft. he NEEDS to pick it up and play to his "potential" or we're in worse shape than we think.

  2. You take the RB cuz if you're guaranteed 2 1/2 yards on every 4th down, then all the sudden you're playing every possession at 1st and 7 1/2 instead of 1st and 10. All you do is spread the field and run 8 yrd routes with a couple guys on every down and if you just complete 33% of your passes you're guaranteed to move the chains every time.

And with your running production already locked in and the ball usually coming out in less than 2.5 seconds you wouldn't have to spend many valuable resources on your OLine; you could build yourself a pretty fierce defense to compliment your unstoppable offense. And if you played your cards right you'd have even more resources to spend on extra flexible cheerleaders.

I don't know about you dummies but I'd spend every Sunday night celebrating my 55-20 win with my highly paid cheerleader squad.

technically, this is the only right answer now that i think about it. 3 yards on 1st, 2nd, or 3rd down guarantees to move the chains. No brainer.

  3. Who the hell do you think you are, bashing posters for their views? A pen in your hand is NOT mightier than the sword, scribe. Obviously, your 'insights' don't serve you well because, yes, your cohorts jumped all over VY's Dream Team comment to the point where even the lowly Bills were stoked to measure themselves against the media-hyped Super squad. Every team the Eagles faced brought their A-game. Here's another reality check for you: Young has all but ruined a pro football career through carelessness and belligerence to authority figures. Then he walked out on his team and reportedly -probably by you- tried to commit suicide. Yet another failure on his part. Neither you or I are in his head, so we don't know specifically what his intentions are or where he's 'at'. But we know he considers himself a starter and that, coupled with consistent immaturity, has many Bills fans wary. IMO, giving the 'backup QB' face time with the press is a questionable choice.

    Lighten up.

    holy irony batman

  4. Byrd. 13 INTs in 3 seasons. Yet, has lack of ball skills.

If the following things happen, we could have a top 5 defense as soon as this season.

    - Sheppard locks down the MLB spot and shows he's a solid NFLer.

    - Morrison plays like he did a few years back OR one of our rookie OLB comes in and lights it up.

    - Gilmore is ready to play at a high level from day 1, and maintains a pro bowl type level

i'll temper my expectations though, and say we finish somewhere between 10-15. there's just no way everything will go perfectly from the get go. there's always injuries, and a few players that don't live up to expectations. the talent is there though, that's for sure. you have at least 5 players who can play at an elite level, and that's not including our ultra talented young CBs. we just NEED anything from the LBing core.

  5. Young nor no one else will get a shot with Nix as GM. We could have had Dalton, Nix didn't feel he was worth a pick in the 2nd, look what Dalton meant to Cinci. Sorry Buddy you screwed the pooch on that one.

Bottom line here, they are so set and egotistical they won't give anyone else a chance. They have decided to do or die wiht Fits. What is going to be disappointing is we build this great team and that one person /Position keeps us from winning the big one.

I actually agree with your original point, but think you're jumping the gun with Dalton by claiming Buddy made a mistake. Dalton looks promising, but at this point, he's an unknown. Often in sports rookies can surprise due to a type of sneak attack. The opposition doesn't have any film, doesn't know what to expect, and before you know it, you've underestimated the guy and lost the game. Same goes for Tebow vs. Pittsburgh. That was more about Denver's suddenly aggressive playcalling, and less about Tebow.
