I did, but I parlayed it with Najee to score the games first TD plus cowboys and chiefs to win. That 4 leg parlay is +4,000 on DraftKings right now. $50 gets me almost $2,100.

It didn’t go over well when I suggested I’d rather lose last week and play all road games due to weather. I’m good going to balmy Miami with josh. Problem is all the other opponents are going to be nasty weather games so maybe we survive this week and then get better weather at home next week.

Yeah, I think it's mostly this week that is the problem, but when it comes to bad weather for the remaining AFC teams, we get the worst of it for sure. If we lose this one, I am seriously going to wonder and worry about how this changes the team dynamic. Will they even want to try for home field anymore? Will some of the players not want to play for The Bills because of this? I mean, it sucks. It could derail us, and if you work really hard for something and it backfires, it's going to have some sort of impact on you.

Where do you go from being a team that could, at the very least, give The Ravens a run for the money but bounced out for fluky reasons out of your control? If we lose, I am terrified of the consequences. It might not be locker room bickering, but aggravation for playing in this market 😑

If the weather is bad enough and there’s a state of emergency on Sunday, maybe just move the game to Monday at 1 PM, rather than move it to a different city altogether?

    I wish.

Is it wrong that I wish Hochul would call it already?

There was a game i recall a few years ago vs Philly. It wasn’t snowing and freezing but it was cold and very windy w some rain. Carson Wentz completed a ton of short dump off passes and the Eagles killed us.  I recall thinking after that game how the Bills and McDermott were so poorly prepared to play in the wind and the eagles had a masterclass lesson in how to use a passing game in the wind here.  Hopefully McD and Brady watched the film this week of all the wind games.

I actually almost mentioned that one too. It was 2019. The weather was sloppy and once the Eagles started piling it on, The Bills looked like they wanted to just get off the field.

Doesn’t feel like home field advantage with our unicorn passer and fumble prone speedy twitch RB1 and gale forced winds

Right? I feel like we might have been better off just going back to Miami this week. This SUCKS! There is no other way around it. The sheer amount of Bills fans I see excited about this is so puzzling to me. WHY? This does nothing for us. If we lose our passing game, how is that exciting? I had people get mad at me on another site for even suggesting it might get moved. If our season comes to a crashing halt on Sunday, it won't be because the better team won, it will be because the weather made it impossible.

We could say the same thing retroactively about the Skylar Thompson Miami game last season, ... that we nearly lost.

    Anyone seen this ...

I am so conflicted on The Bills potentially moving the game to Cleveland. I know right now it's a rumor, but I believe if the weather event is upgraded to blizzard or a safety hazard it might? Anyway, I want our offense to be able to shine, but one plus would be Mason not being able to air it out to Pickens or Dionte, something I have noticed him doing the past few games I have watched. Plus, our D is a little banged up. I think our D is at a possible advantage, but our offense not so much.

We had the perfect playoff game at sub zero temperatures.  We won 32-29 against the Fish last year where Allen threw for 305 yards and 4 TD's (he played best when the snow started falling heavily in the 4th quarter).  I can buy the wind argument but not the cold/snow.

That game was amazing. It was very cold, but there was no wind.

I feel like The Bills tend to be sloppy in snow, but then again, snow is sloppy. I am hoping they can come out like The Bengals did in the divisional last year, but again, I don't think wind was a huge factor in that game.

We haven't seen *****, people in the sports media have been looking and taking anything they can find to spin a narrative if you want to lap it up go ahead.

This will be my last comment on this, because it's going in circles. I am not lapping up a narrative! I sensed and commented about this LAST February after the AFCCG when he started liking posts that were building Joe Burrow up to tear Josh down. That is when I started to notice. The media wasn't even commenting on it at the time. Stefon did his little press run during the SB and again showed no love to Josh, where in years past he did. Again, I started to notice this stuff before the press and narratives from the press started to surface.

Agreed, but it's almost exclusively due to the opponent and both team's perceived strengths and weaknesses. If we had the same weather forecast and were playing Miami or Houston everyone would be feeling pretty good I'm guessing. The weather in Buffalo can be a blessing or curse

I would be feeling a hell of a lot better if it was a warm weather team. I think the Texans would be in shock. I don't think Pittsburgh has as crazy weather, but they are a tough team, with their defense and run game. I am not saying I think this will be a day in the park for them either, but I do think it evens the playing field, and this game will come down to mistakes and who makes the least.

Yeah these two don't get along at all. 🙄

Yeah, like I haven't seen this! Or any of the other clips of them "getting along". I already stated their "work relationship" is doing better these days than their "personal friendship", but winning cures all and losing brings out other things. Again, if we lose, this week? Next week? Don't make it to the big dance? You will see. For me personally, I have seen enough to know how it will go.

Roll your eyes all you want, but after Stefon had to sit there and answer questions to the media about his brothers comments, his brother proceeded to do it again a few weeks later. They are close, super close, no doubt if Stefon disapproved of him saying those things, he would continue to do that. It speaks volumes. I am not sticking my head in the sand over this 🙄

Bengals divisional game memories.  Patriot wind game meories.  The belief that weather is the great equalizer if there's a talent difference.  The fact that the Steelers script to win is run the ball to control the clock and force/capitalize on Bills offensive mistakes (that is more likely in inclement weather).  I'd rather have ideal conditions to be honest but I agree that we may be a little too concerned about the weather.

For me personally, it's knowing how much the players hate it(which is understandable, I don't think any like it). Jordan Poyer HATES the cold. He gets miserable when October comes around. Josh has talked at length about how he loses feelings in his fingers and toes(I relate!! Might be a raynauds thing). We have not had too many snow games that I can recall in the JA era, but I am thinking of some of the sloppy weather games in the past and how they went.

2021 Ravens Divisional game-it wasn't the best. The wind was strong and made life difficult for the offense. I think Josh had some almost passes to Diggs, but they sailed. Taron Johnson's pick six was a game changer.

2021 game against Colts. It was windy and a lot of sleet. Bills could not get anything going on offense. I think Bass missed some field goals. We got blown out.

2021 Wind storm game-Little to no offense. When he finally started to throw the ball it was too late.

2021 Falcons game. Sloppy weather. Sloppy turnovers. Cole Beasley was our saving grace in this one. Josh had some great runs. Was a struggle up till that point.

The bad weather game against Cleveland was moved to Detroit, so no comment.

Divisional game against Bengals last year? Sloppy. Poor footing on The Bills side.

So yeah, hard for me to get excited about this game that will have even worse inclements.

The Bills have done better in bad weather games, like rain ones against Philly and Dallas, so I am hoping maybe this time around the heavy snow won't hinder them too badly, but it's hard to get my hopes up with their history.

I think Diggs is a difficult personality no matter what team he’s on. Even in 2020 and 2021 there were little things that let you know that people are uncomfortable around Diggs. Maddy Glab didn’t say anything that wasn’t true.

It’s also true that he is a big time competitor and the clock is ticking on his career, especially at an elite level. That’s why he freaked out during the Bengals game last year and training camp this year. You’ll notice there have been no outbursts since Dorsey was fired.

There are still bad feelings underneath the surface and yes they will come out if we lose unexpectedly. But at the end of the day you take the good with the bad.

Do we want an elite player with insatiable competitiveness to ALSO be an amazing person? We already have a one in million guy like that and we are lucky he’s our QB. We want two of them? Be real.

I love his competitiveness and how passionate he is. Those are things I appreciate about him, but I do agree that may be difficult, and I say this as someone who defended him left and right when he came here, especially to the Vikings fans who were like "just you wait". Well, last off season was pretty damn eye opening, and I never thought he would semi turn on Josh. The Maddy Glabb thing was also eye opening, but she got the brunt of it, and what made that whole situation even more eye opening was that it was caught on tape. It wasn't like it was something she just said for the world to hear, it was something(though reckless) she said in what she thought was private. So, I realize and semi accept that there is some good and some bad with him, but I hate what happens when things don't go his way. I don't think he and Josh survive another bout like that, and them not getting along on a personal level will continue to hinder their play together. People can get mad or annoyed all they want with me over these comments, but I am seeing the patterns with him and I don't want to be in denial about all of this.

I have no idea where in that PC you feel that "he and Josh aren't close" is coming from.  He specifically mentioned "your QB gets banged up" as an injury the Bills had sustained, so that reinforces that maybe Josh's shoulder has been worse than the team has let on, but he knows about it.  He was asked about his relationship with Josh evolving this year, he said not so much this year, he's been here 4 years, and when there's adversity that's when you get closer to people.  The obvious conclusion to be drawn from what he said is that he's gotten closer to some guys in the locker room (including Josh) during the adversity of injury this  season.

I always thought their "bro-mance" was more of a media creation than a real off-the-field friendship.  Not that they don't have real respect for each other and liking, and not that Diggs didn't have warm fuzzy feelings when he racked up a league-leading 127 receptions for 1535 yds back in 2020.   But without a pandemic shutting things down, I don't think Diggs is a big video gamer.  He's not a golfer either.  You never saw pics of Diggs going to Sabres games or baseball or what have you with Josh, that would be like Davis Webb and Josh and Dawson Knox and sometimes Gabe Davis.  Diggs thing is fashion and also "playing" with the ladies, and I think he keeps that "under cover" (pun intended) during the season.    I just don't think he and Josh have a lot of interests in common or ever have had.  Doesn't mean they're not "locker room family" and don't have a solid professional football relationship.  I just never thought they were really 'besties' off the field.

I also really liked what I heard from Diggs about the rest of the receiver corps and how he roots for their success and he expects big things from them.  He came across as a mature, steady teammate with a positive vibe is what I got from it, little trace of the Diva and the petulant-appearing guy we saw at the end of last season.

Sometimes it's what he says, or doesn't say, or what he skates around. I remember him liking shady posts about Josh right after our season ended, and it was a lot of cryptic stuff after that. They did not speak in the off season. It was noted by some pundits. Josh flat out admitted they had a falling out but that they patched it up during training camp. Whatever it is still lingers, and I am not going to sit here and pretend or even allow myself to pretend things are awesome between the two. Stefs brother downright shades Josh while the season is still ongoing, and Stefon allows it. He(his brother) is essentially his mouthpiece and says what he might feel he can't right now. FWIW Gabe Davis's mother has been doing the same exact thing. Again, I know this will be met with some eyerolls and whatever, and I do love Stef the player and often the person, but I don't completely trust him. I have a feeling that is where Josh is at with him. I am fairly certain of how he will react on Social Media if our season ends, especially if it ends this Sunday. It won't be pretty, and his true colors will come out even louder as he is barely containing them right now. Maybe they are "locker room family" which is fine, but at one point I do believe they were very close. I don't sense that anymore.

Yeah, getting tired of the shade and digs he keeps making at his QB and possibly OC. Somehow some Bills fans that don't see through this will spin this as "see, he really does love Buffalo!!" If we lose this week, or next, or don't make it to the SB, mark my words, he will be very active on SM. It will be a long off season with him and his brother.

Winter Storm Watch in effect now from Saturday afternoon to Monday morning. Heavy lake effect snow with winds gusting as high as 65 mph. Travel will be difficult, may be impossible at times. Even if this game is playable, and fans can get to it safely (huge questions), it is sad that a playoff game will be impacted so negatively by the weather.

Awesome. Just keeps getting better and better 👎

  16. I knew the minute a "snow storm" was suggested a few days ago, that it would keep getting worse and worse each passing day, and it has. I am so sad, and so defeated by this, that I did not even ask my boss if I could go to work early on Sunday so I could get out early(something I usually do). I will see the 2nd half, but I just don't have the patience/mental stability/whatever for this. It has made me officially grumpy and angry at the world, because the terrible luck for this team continues. We won't be able to watch our star QB shine. I don't know if passing the ball will be an option at all. The game will be flukey AF and I can easily see us being on the wrong end of that, even though I know we are way more talented. I don't know if it's worth it to try for home field anymore. If we lose this one, I am thinking no! I almost wish we lost in Miami now and feel like we are now being punished.

Before anyone makes angry faces at me or eye rolling emojis, I don't think this game means a "loss" for us. I realize both teams have to play in this garbage. I just know it will hinder us in a lot of ways, and I hate that. I feel like the team worked really hard to get to where they are now and I hate that something like this could derail the team, especially since in the Josh era, this might be our last season with a lot of the guys on this team before a mini rebuild.

  17. I would trade with KC in a heartbeat!! We had weather like that for the WC Pats game, and look how we did? The wind is always the issue, and swirling snow is not going to help. I know extreme cold temps are dangerous, but you can prepare for that. I fear the weather we are getting might derail our team, and honestly, derail free agents from wanting to come here. If we lose, we literally do not have home field advantage.

This seems like a bit of hyperbole. I’ve seen the forecast from my trusted weather sources. Sat eve the temps plummet and it gets windy as hell (50 mph gusts). We are fortunate the game isn’t scheduled for Sat night. By Sunday at 1pm there’s a 30% chance of scattered snow but no real accumulation. Winds 20-30 but trending a little less towards the 4th Qtr, and no huge gust predictions.  Sunday night temps are in the low teens and that’s when 2-4 inches is expected.  Of course this could all change but 4 days out it’s coming into focus.

I was going by the Don Paul podcast someone linked here.

I think you just found the "out" if the Bills lose. It won't be McD's fault, the roster, player execution , etc... Rather it will be the weather.

    So hope this doesn't happen.

Pitt has been pounding the rock well lately. Harris and Warren have looked very good down the stretch.

Yeah, it could be Sean's get out of jail free card. It also just makes me sad, if we lose this and sense it was because of the weather(like the first Pats game of 2021) because then we have to wonder if working so hard to get "home field advantage" is worth it. I don't blame the crappy weather in the divisional game last year, but I don't think it helped. Do they keep trying for home field and hope there will be a year where the weather isn't god awful? Don't get me wrong, it's January, it's Buffalo. I get that, it's just that it's not going to be just bitterly cold, or just windy, or just snowy, it's all of the above. It's a lot.

That's the scary part for me. That's right in Pittsburgh's wheelhouse.

Yeah, I feel like, at the very least, it neuters The Bills more than it does them and puts them at borderline equal playing field. I think The Bills are no doubt more talented, but I feel like they have a better run game. I don't think we will see a lot of passing in this game. We cannot make any mistakes. No turnovers. It would be devastating I think. I doubt field goals will even be a thing.

If we lose this one, I am not sure I ever want homefield "advantage" again. I am almost wondering if we would have been better off losing in Miami and playing on the road. I hate saying that because I usually like the comfort of home, but our offense cannot air it out in this type of weather.

  21. 5 minutes ago, PBF81 said:

Well yeah, the regular season hasn't been the problem for sure.  No one has complained about our division wins or regular season record.  But our postseason performance hasn't even approached matching that, in any way, shape, or form.

Having said that we get first round (aka WC Round) wins is one thing, but our D has still underachieved in those games.  Last season vs. Miami (Thompson) for example put up their season offensive average plus a defensive TD with Skylar Thompson at the helm, including a 75-yard drive late in the 3rd to pull within a FG.  In '20 we allowed the Colts with Rivers to log their most offensive yards all season and within four points of their season average.  They nearly beat us.  In '19 and '17 we lost our WC games.  The only game that our D played well was vs. NE featuring Jones as a rookie, but we also got plenty of help from Allen and the offense putting the game away by the half with Allen having a career game.

So yeah, while we do get first round wins, it's hardly been because of our defense playing even average.

Completely with you there.  There's a lot of narrative hype re: Brady that simply isn't true.  Cook isn't resurgent, in fact, other than for the Dallas game he's playing worse than he ever has over any stretch.  Diggs' numbers have all but been halved and he's got one receiving TD under Brady vs. 7 under Dorsey.  Allen's averaging 1.4 passing TDs/game, down from 2.1 under Dorsey.  That's not to say that Dorsey was good, he wasn't.  It is to say that Brady's no better if not worse.

Our offense has averaged a pathetic 19.3 PPG over the past three games, none of which were against above-average defenses.

Yeah, be good to find out what happens.  The more research I've done however the more concerned I've gotten.  I originally thought this would be a blowout, now I'm not so sure.  If we play, offensively the way we have over the past three weeks we'll be lucky to win.  I don't see 20 points winning this game for us.  We're not playing Zappe, Stick, or a half-depleted Miami offense, we're playing one that's averaged 27 PPG and with a QB that's playing well above-average on a team with a very good coach.  We are playing a team that's playing a helluva lot better football now they have the rest of the season prior to Rudolph starting.  That will get them up for the game.  Also, and in fairness, we're talking about a QB that's never been given a reasonable chance to start for more than 6 games completed, now he has, and he's got a 120.3 Rating over those three games.  We are at home, so that helps.

Having said that, we are still the better team, simply not playing like it recently.  Hopefully we won't be arguing the reasons for it following the game.

They're talking whiteout conditions now. I don't see this as being some shootout. It's going to be a low scoring game and probably who ever makes the least mistakes, wins!
