I certainly hope that Allen was not involved in this pick.   That is not his job.   If the Bills picked Coleman because Allen wanted him then Beane definitely needs to be fired.  My guess is that the involvement by Allen was prefunctory, sort of like King Charles officially has to approve all legislation before it becomes law.

Coleman fits the high ceiling low floor profile of most early round Beane picks.  Except for the 40 time, he is a freakish athlete whose college stats are not super impressive.  Examples include Allen, Edmunds, Brown, Knox, Elam, and Rousseau.  They are betting on  that can teach him to separate in the pros. Hopefully they are right.

Allen already said he wanted him, and last year he wanted Kincaid. I have no issues with the QB of this team putting in input.

  2. When is Josh's contract up again? I would not be surprised if he asks for a trade when it's up. I would not blame him. Just wasting one of his prime years. By the time we get this team built back up to something again, he may be 30. Unreal.

I have not totally given up hope since Shakir, Cook and Kincaid were coming along nicely last season, but I can't sit here and say I am overall feeling good either.

I've had a long standing theory that Bills (and Sabres) ownership is more fragile than it appears.  It does not surprise me to see this announcement.

Terry is in his early 70s, Kim's status as owner is unknown, and none of the five kids are easy to spot heir apparent to running the menagerie of companies he has in his portfolio.

What you really don't want to see is Terry pass unexpectedly, and the ownership is transacted by the family to the highest bidder.  That's a nightmare Bon Jovi scenario.  The likelihood of the Bills being owned by someone like Terry with a deep appreciation of Buffalo and western New York is slim in that scenario.

    Good points.

I don't think Kim will ever regain ownership. It has been alluded to. I think the stroke took a huge toll on her. Honestly, maybe it's for the better, that is a highly stressful job and someone who went through what she did should probably not be in that position. I also think about Terry's age often.

If we had those answers it would be in the post but the process seems to be just starting

I hate this. I never know what the implications will be, or what the intentions are, and worrying about this team staying or going is exhausting at this point. I feel like I need to just let go in that area.

I know this does not mean that, it's just that I wonder when 25% turns into 50% and so on. I also wonder if this has to do with Kim's health.

The Pegulas currently own 100% of the Buffalo Bills football team.

They are selling 25% -- or one quarter -- ownership of the team.

This will leave them with 75% -- or three quarters -- ownership of the team.

They are doing this to make some money.

    Hope this helps.

I got all that, but whom are they selling the 25% to and does this interfere with the team staying or going? Already admitted to being an idiot about this stuff so I am just trying to understand it all.

  6. I am also lowkey terrified he may want to dip as well. Suddenly he seems to be turning into a scapegoat and I feel like people need to point their fingers somewhere, so why not him?

The off season stuff is wild to me. He always delivers during the season, and yes, I realize turnovers are a problem and it would be great if he could cut those down, but he's a risk taker. I don't think working out more in the off season is going to change his game that much. He puts his body through brutal punishment. He had a UCL injury in 2022 and instead of sitting out for four weeks, he got plasma injections and played through it. He leg could almost be severed off and he would still fight to stay on the field. He went into a blue tent a few times last season, with a shoulder injury, and still played through it. He puts his own body through a lot in the regular season. He is about to turn 28. If he wants to heal mentally and physically in the off season, I am not mad at it. On the surface maybe it looks like he doesn't care as much as other players out there, but that doesn't mean it's true. Life is short and he, like all the players, have limited time to spend time with loved ones, traveling, doing things they love before the season begins again.

Again, I am not saying he can't do more,or that he is above constructive criticism, but I think going after him is not the answer. He has pretty much been asked to put the team on his back since he got here and often does, but this year is going to be even harder. Considering what he puts his body through during the season and playoffs, he could grow to be a little resentful to this market if he is being nitpicked at over his off season regime.

And there you have it This was just released on YouTube. Proves everything. While Mahomes, Stroud, Wilson and others are working with their receivers Josh is golfing with Youtubers. There some interesting comments from him about his offseason.

I really don't care if Josh drinks 80 beers and rolls into camp at 300 lbs. Do any of you think HE is the reason we got booted from the playoffs? Bills were the 2 seed for three out of the last four seasons. Would The Bills be the 1 seed if he had a six pack and threw the ball to receivers in the off season more? Would we have won the 13 seconds game or the divisional against KC again back in January if he ate more organic food? What are we doing here? How Josh handles his off season has had very little impact of the actual season. It's like people are so desperate for a reason for coming up short.

Obviously it's good to have a healthier regime and all that stuff, but I personally don't believe it's why we have been bumped out of the playoffs before making a Super Bowl. He is the guy with the most pressure on him, on this team. The one who is supposed to carry this team and City to glory. That is a lot of pressure and probably takes a huge mental toll. If he wants to golf and relax, I am not going to fault him. If it seemed like it was impacting the team or their chances, maybe I would think differently, but I am not seeing it. He still balls out once the regular season hits.

FWIW he may have to work with his receivers a lot more this off season due to the sheer fact it will likely be rookies and players that aren't Diggs and Davis.

I'm going to make a general statement here....

Most of the younger guys on WGR (and I like them most of the time better than Schopp and Bulldog) tend to like and support players that are active on social media, ones that can be or have the potential to be more controversial...stuff like that.  Yes, they are into analytics and a lot of times have think rationally, but I swear sometimes they will give the benefit of the doubt, or slightly over-rate a player if they are simply a 'name' known around the league, or are someone who is a bit of a diva compared to someone else who just goes to work, plays football and goes home.

To each their own, but I prefer the latter. Sure, I'm on the message boards and check Twitter everyday, but I do so for some conversation and news, the posting for the sake of posting by athletes, the 'promoting their brand', just isn't for me. I get it some people like that, but I'd just as much rather not have that on the team I root for, all else being equal.

Yeah, I don't think Nate is doing the team or Josh any favors by bringing negative attention to him from a situation from well over a year ago. Seems very tacky and unprofessional to even go there. If something happened, it happened and can't be taken back. When people ask him what happened, he keeps responding with "read my article". So tacky. FWIW I "read his article" and it said nothing of what happened, just that something happened, which he has already stated on Twitter. We have been having a really funky off season, do we have to bring negative attention to the QB, all to stick up for a WR that has his own not so great reputation?

I’m not at all involved with these guys but, from what I know, there’s truth to what I believe to be Diggs’s sentiment that Josh had to get his act together in 2023.   That said, there’s also truth to the point that Diggs acted like a supreme a-hole this year.  In the end, it doesn’t matter.  Diggs is gone and on we go.

I get that, and can understand frustration if he felt Allen wasn't focused or his head was not in the game, but to carry that anger for over a year? To blame Allen for that game in which the whole team looked flat? Nate is going hard at Allen over this, and I feel like it's to make Diggs look good in comparison. We are all human and make mistakes, so I just don't think this justifies Digg's behavior this season.

I actually think it may take pressure off Allen.

-In the talk piece I linked with Shady et al, one of the hosts (Acho?) made a big point of the pressure it puts on a QB when you have a top receiver demanding the ball, that it can influence the play calling and the QB's decision making.  Shady disagreed.  But it's a point: Josh has said he's a bit of a "people pleaser".  Are some of the times when Josh was forcing the ball to Stef or to Gabe with poor results, influenced by his desire to "get them their bag"?  Did it influence play selection?  Was Diggs "don't listen to him" (referring to Dorsey) because Josh was trying to follow progressions and not look to Diggs first?

-Josh has said he doesn't like to "be an #######" and "call people out" about performance.  IF it's true that Diggs was "going off" on Josh not only on the sidelines but in the locker room and sometimes practice to the point where it was detrimental to the team, does it take confliction away from Josh if he doesn't have that in his face and need to make that decision?  Or was that "in his face" actually helping Josh?  Maybe it helped initially in 2020 and 2021, but now it's a weight on him?
-It's been notable to me when Josh has talked about new receivers coming in, he's repeatedly mentioned "works hard, doesn't complain".  Now Diggs has always been noted for working hard.  But maybe there's been a lot of complaining, and that's been Josh's indirect way of calling that out (and not getting through)

I don't think Diggs preferences on where he wanted to go were given any weight whatsoever.  Why would you think so?

I also don't think Diggs wanting out was given too much weight.  I think the "wanting" was on the side of the Bills brass and possibly Josh.

I do think there may have been a precipitating factor that made the Bills willing to move on at a fire sale price.  Maybe Allen asked Diggs to "get in the lab" with him and Diggs declined to do so.  Maybe the Bills gave Diggs a rehab or a conditioning program and it's been clear he hasn't been following it - Beane specifically mentioned "fashion" and "he's back working out now".  Coaches can't talk football to players, but they can call to check in or for social reasons, maybe there were 'relationship building' calls that were swatted down.

I personally think the Bills have been fishing for the right balance as well as the right talent in the WR room since Beasley and Brown then Sanders left.  In hindsight, I think moving on from Chad Hall and McKenzie last season while bringing in new WR in Hardy and Sherfield AND a new WR coach, may have been an attempt to change the energy in the room as well as to upgrade (the upgrade obviously failed).  Chad Hall was notably buddies with his WR and Diggs praised him to the skies.  If Diggs had a 'tude, maybe Hall wasn't willing to get in Diggs grill.  McKenzie was the guy who talked to Diggs on the phone after 13 seconds.  Maybe they felt he'd become a buddy and enabler of Diggs 'tude so "bye Felicia".

In film clips of '23 minicamp after Diggs showed up, that any time Diggs and Allen were talking the WR coach was RIGHT THERE, to the point that I remarked on it.

I do think that Allen could have "gone to the mat" to keep Diggs and that would have had a lot of weight, but I don't think he did.  McCoy and company pulled no punches and made no bones about Allen and Diggs relationship: "it's bad".

I think Morse is another guy where the Bills made a decision to move on a year early rather than a year late.

But you're right about the leadership and Beane acknowledged as much.

You shouldn't be surprised.  Beane's MO is that he only restructures as needed to make moves.  So if Beane feels he can make a good trade for someone, he won't hesitate, but he also won't do it until just before he needs it.

I honestly think Beane and his scouts analysis of the WR quality will drive this.  It's notable that the 1st year contribution of last year's WR was:

    1. 5th round Puka Nacua

    2. 2nd round Rashee Rice

    3. 1st round Jordan Addison

Addison was the 4th WR taken in the 1st.

Rice was the 3rd WR taken in the 2nd, and the 7th WR overall.

If I'm counting right, Nacua was #20.  (Obviously there's a stroke of luck there.)

Keep in mind Allen was the 3rd QB drafted.  My point is that Beane and Co trust their personnel evaluation.  They'll move up if they think it's critical, but they're more likely to be strategic about it than others think, because there is that "crap shoot" element to the draft.

There has been a ton of talk about Diggs wanting out, and a lot of "I told you so!!" from sports pundits who knew this. Shady McCoy flat out said Diggs would be going to Houston, and Joe Mixon pretty much outed this whole situation with his tweet about how Diggs asked for the trade to Houston, and got his wish. I personally didn't even need to know about this stuff to figure it out. He has made it pretty clear he was unhappy, his brother was always vouching for him to get out of Buffalo. The writing was on the wall. I don't know how much say or not Josh had in it, but I don't think he was going to try and stop it, and on some level he may be relieved.

Guys...my friend and his famiily were on the same flight home with Josh today.  Apparently, he was able to be very sweet to their daughter (a huge fan) and took time from stuffing his face full of airport food to take a picture with her, sign an autograph and tell her how awesome it was to meet a Bills fan in Paris.

I've asked my friend if I can share the picture but be warned, he may seem grossly obese to some...

Was he stuffing his face with more frog legs?

I’m not jealous and I don’t hate him.  You’re using that as a straw man argument to deflect from the notion that Josh Allen could ever possibly do anything that was somehow less than perfect.  Newsflash:  We all can and we all do.  That includes Josh Allen, who I like a lot.

75% of what I wrote about Allen pointed out his positive traits.  I clearly stated that I want him to be the Bills QB.

Do I wish that he had paid more attention to football last off-season?  Yes.  Why? Because I’m a Bills fan and we were really only a few plays from a championship.  With a little more focus and preparation a lot of good things can happen in any endeavor.  They could have happened to the Bills.

Do I think him traveling the world with a Hollywood starlet and stuffing his face until his pants rip is an indication that he learned a lesson last year?  No.  Is it PROOF that he hasn’t?  No it’s not and I never said it was.

In September and through the season we’ll all learn together whether he has done what it takes to get the job done.  I hope he does.  Getting fat in March isn’t the end of the world but it also isn’t a positive thing.  Thinking and saying Allen can do no wrong and don’t look at the man behind the curtain….with the ripped pants, does not manifest itself into reality.  Reality is the only reality.

With all due respect, your posts are always the same. Last year you had Josh as a serial killer who had a missing gf, and when it's not that, it's "he's fat and stuffs his face" all the while being miserable about his fame, celebrity gf and lifestyle. It comes off as very jealous.

You really don't have to worry about Josh's weight and ripped pants. Here is a video of him in Hawaii last week working with kids. He looks just fine as far as his shape goes, so Josh, if you are reading this, have some extra frog legs!

This is one of the most ridiculous takes I've ever seen. And you gathered all of that grand intelligence from one story about a split pair of pants. Is this like Will Hunting looking at a painting on the wall in his psychiatrist's office? And the locker room comment is even more outrageous when you listen to anyone and everyone in that building.  Have you every heard ANYONE talk negatively about his work ethic in regards to football? Dumb, just dumb.

You act like JA should be football 24-7-365 for his entire career without any kind of life whatsoever outside of the game. Girlfriend? Nope. Only football. Eating out? Nope. Nutritionist making every meal, even living inside your fridge to hand you that 2:00am healthy snack. Oh yeah, and football. Traveling to various places across the world, with a girlfriend, and eating out while you're there. O-M-GEEEEEEE!!!!!!! Nope, Nope and NOPE!!!! Crucify him!!!!!

Tom Brady took all kinds of trips with his family, to various places, and showed up at a lot of these same events you're talking about (yes, all before he was retired). How many rings does that guy have? Mahomes does as well. In fact there are numerous athletes all at these same events, many of them champions, and they ALL have a life outside of their respective sport. There is a reason it's called the "off season" and it's the first week of March my guy.

I'm not sure if it's jealousy, envy, or maybe you're just not happy with where you're at, or what you're able to do. Whatever it is, I hope you can get past that. Or maybe find yourself a team with a QB who walks that chalk line with no personal life whatsoever. Well wishes and happy hunting.

    Ding ding ding.

On top of it all, not that, he has been looking slimmed down. I have seen numerous pics and videos so far from this offseason and he looks in great shape.
