I hope this isn't another situation where Marrone sticks by him far longer than he should, ala Wade Phillips. Byrd was itching to play. from profootballtalk: Chicago Bears newly-minted linebacker Pisa Tinoisamoa is due to be paid $1 million this season under his one-year contract, according to Vaughn McClure of the Chicago Tribune. Tinoisamoa, who was scheduled to make $3.25 million with the St. Louis Rams in 2009 before he was cut from the roster during the offseason, is slated to compete with Nick Roach and Hunter Hillenmeyer for the starting job. For now, Roach is atop the depth chart. Tinoisamoa is glad for a change of scenery after winning just five games in the past two seasons. And he doesn’t seem to mind that he has to earn a starting position. ”Just the chance to be on a winning team is worth it to me,” Tinoisamoa said this week, according to Brad Biggs of the Chicago Sun-Times. ”I’ve been fortunate to get paid in this league, and that was good, but I still had to go home a loser. I’d give all the money back if I could win again. … ”There was opportunity to go to other teams, but it was like, ‘We’re going to give you the job.’ And for me, that was awkward because I know there were guys who had been working since the end of last season, coming into this year and all the time they put in, and they felt like they were the starter. Unreasonable optimism. We all fall for it. TO signed for 1 year amounts to a pathetic headline grabber that does little to improve the long-term health of this team. No effort to improve the DL,OL,TE. yeah, i know..some college punk is going to come in and save our franchise....can't wait. I would be appalled if the Bills offer anything more for this guy. It will work out similarly to the Rob Johnson deal. He is always playing against second stringers and is the product of a successful running system....he will be the next Lamont Jordan.

it's a business for god's sake...the NFL is hardly a honorable business...it is cut-throat and the Bills should be cut-throat. We cannot compete if we develop talent and let them walk away without compensation. Particularly, if we do things "on the cheap" as Ralph is prone to do. Clubs lie to players and players lie to clubs. Join the friggin' real world and play the game. Franchise clements. If another club wants to pay him big bucks, god bless. We get draft choices at least. The NFL has the franchise tag to give the clubs more power in negotiations with players, and to keep the playing field equal between teams...USE it for god's sake.

Seems like his personal rivalry with Vilma is the only thing that gets him really going. he might just be a 1800yrd rusher with that type of consistent urgency in his game. otherwise, i think we will need another talented young back to push him.

TKO looked like a pretender out there....again. i can honestly say he was less valuable than a sixth round draft choice- Ellison. earlier in the year, i was butchered for commenting that he needed to be cut, i stand by that assessment.

he was late getting to almost every hole yesterday. i honestly think we need to bench him. better crowell, fletcher and ellison or wire. has to be an upgrade. i know, he is injured, a leader, yada, yada, yada....he needs to go the way of Vincent and ride off into the sunset. he has all the explosion of your grandmother.

I also see highly overrated arm strength, poor field vision and horrible demeanor for qb. he is always alone on the sideline, pouting. not one teammate ever comes over to encourage or support him. he needs to go.

another year wasted trying to figure out if losman is a starting qb....if they don't let him try anything and cover him up all game, how are we supposed to know if he is the guy?! this is nuts. Mcnally has had several years to put it together. how many more years do you want to give him?

Sorry, but if Mcnally is such a genius, why are we tearing things up half-way thru the season??!?! this is a move of desperation. The fact that this is the move, as opposed to Qb switch, means losman isn't the primary problem in the eyes of the coaching staff. why wasn't the OL addressed in the offseason?! Reyes looks only marginally better than anderson. Fowler is a quicker, meeker Teague.

Ok, so to date- Reyes- benched, clearly a miss. not an upgrade. Tripplett- has done nothing. The worst FA pickup of the DL in the NFL. Price- not starting material. 3rd or 4th type. Losman- Brees on the market, draft leinhart or cutler. worse case scenario, is you have a SD situation. that seemed to work out ok for them. Bowen- bad luck. mcfarland- failed to get trade done. clements gone for nothing. OL- failure to do anything in FA. great start.....

it is nice to see a coherent offensive game plan. I have not had to say to myself, "wtf was that!" yet in preseason, which is a big change from last year. Defensively, we will get manhandled up front, but the philosophy seems sound and there are multiple Bills around the ballhandlers. all in all, i feel we are on the right path for a change. still, looking at a 5-11 season with the first half 1-7. we won't be in a position for Quinn but maybe Stanton from MSU. Losman will be up and down all year. we will be saying the same thing about him at the end of the year. He doesn't have the mental makeup for QB in the NFL.
