There will be a significant contribution from Isabella, Shorter, Hamler or Hollins. The first three have speed to stretch the field. Even if we found 80 catches of the 14 to 15 yd average in that group it would be hugely impactful . Hollins is the kind of insurance policy the Bills love in a veteran. Josh Allen could deliver Mack Hollins to the land of the living career-wise. These four receivers are the ones we are underestimating in our projections for this year. It just takes one to have a breakout year and make everybody forget about the second receiver “we should have drafted”. We don’t see these guys practice nor can we appreciate what the bills know and believe. I love surprises. We will see some in 24! Samuel, Shakier, Kincaid and Cook will catch a lot of balls. Davis and Knox will contribute significantly. The Bills’ offense will be top seven—-again. Happy Muthers Day!

Best wishes Murph. I have a good thought for your continuing recovery. The Bills need a big league voice again. When one thinks about the historical broadcast standards set by van miller, Ted Darling and Rick Jeannette in Buffalo sports, ownership needs to do a credible search. I think about someone like Jack Micheals who does Edmonton games. Tremendous on air presence and voice. Chris Brown is a fine studio guy but a play by play man, he is not. Hopefully the Bills were only waiting out of deference to Murph, but will take action now.

We cannot afford to lose a cornerback, let alone one who can still contribute. Burks will be a cut this year or next, or a trade for a 6th round pick to a team who ISN’T loaded at slot. We need some little guys yo. We are currently the land of the giants.

Short answer: It's not a great sign. Burks' first two pro seasons have been derailed by injuries, and he hasn't been particularly productive when he has been on the field. New Titans coach Brian Callahan raved during a radio interview after the NFL draft about how impressed he has been with Burks. But adding Boyd certainly puts a dent in Burks' share of reps.
Burks has two more years plus a fifth-year option on his rookie contract. With Boyd and Hopkins on short-term deals, there's value in keeping Burks around and trying to develop him. Maybe taking the pressure of having to be a No. 1 or No. 2 receiver off Burks allows him to flash his first-round potential. Maybe some improved injury luck allows him to emerge organically.
But the realistic conclusion is the Titans signed Boyd because they believed they needed immediate, proven consistency from their No. 3 receiver. Burks isn't that. He'll have an uphill climb to earn reps in base, three-receiver sets and factor into the Titans' offensive plans in any meaningful way.”
Looks like the one in danger here is Berks, which doesn’t help us. Titans threw around a lot of money to Ridley, Pollard, Sneed, Cushenberry and others. They look like a team that is all in, not one who will sell off assets in November. I like the possibilities our young wideouts offer versus Dhop who is getting to the end of the line. He is like some wedding dress posters wished we had bought three marriages ago. It’s over dudes, your boobs will not look good in that low cut design.

Knox is invisible, Kincaid has cement hands, Cook drops too many easy balls, and you have no idea what you’re getting from the rookie Coleman. You can’t compete for a championship when the Bills always address the WR position as they do. You can, however, compete for an early playoff exit which they consistently do.
I have to disagree Mr. Walnuts. The Kansas City Chiefs won the Super Bowl with a bunch of hockey pucks playing receiver. Kelce even had a bit of a down year. They beat the 49ers, who are loaded at receiver. They also defeated the Ravens who have two very good receivers and a solid TE. The Ravens lost because they tried to out pass the Chiefs instead of just being the best rushing team in the AFC. The Bills, seeing KC’s success are emulating the approach. What team with a twenty five million dollar receiver has won it all? The answer is none. A variety of targets schemed in the right way, with a good running attack is enough when JA17 is Quarterback. Hell I can’t wait to see our younger jumped up defense fly around. These are some exciting times mates!

Claypool is another inexpensive option for the Bills’ short and intermediate passing game development. He is a guy with a ton of wasted potential so far, if he pulls his head out of his dupah, then you’ve got a real contributor. He has an A+ QB so that will change things. Should he fail, we’ve lost nothing. Shorter and Shavers get to see what desperation looks like up close. Considering how our long passing game was so well defended last year, I like how things are shaping up with a mix of size and speed. Shakier will have a very good year, as will Samuel. We may see a revitalized Dawson Knox along with an even better Dalton Kincaid. I do not understand the handwringing about the Offense. We will run, we will pass. We still have Josh in the saddle. Joe Brady will put Corduroy back in style at OBD.

There were too many guys on that desk last season. Simms and Esiason, even Cower rarely had a chance to talk. I always thought Simms had good honest insight. I recall last year the 13 seconds game came up, and one guy after another talked about the bills not getting the ball back in OT. Simms correctly pointed out that the Bills poor defense concepts allowed KC to tie. In general, these shows could have smaller teams. Nobody gets to talk for more than 20 or 30 seconds on the networks. ESPN and NFL channel have more time and flexibility for larger teams but even they over do it.

He looks explosive and athletic. Not dissimilar to Andre Reed. Used in combination with the Bills other options; a solid run game , Kincaid, Samuel and Shakier—-very useful. He will give us a fabulous goal line alternative to Josh running. When I look back at how the long game faltered during our 6-6 stretch last year, this is the Bills’ reaction. A mixture of twitchy and physical pass catchers will provide a powerful short and intermediate passing attack. At same time this group can be schemed long to keep the defense honest. The team while transitioning is still “going for it”; Bean said that too when Diggs was traded. It’s no less true that the Chiefs were going for it when they brought in rookie starters on defense two years ago. The nature of a transition : Change from one form, state, style, or place to another. This is not a reconstruction or rebuild. I feel no need to lose my mind. The team has a great line, qb, many weapons, excellent defensive coaches and lots of talent. I’m excited to see Keon Coleman, and Bishop jump in. Many of us are quick to give the other teams too much credit. It’s easier to win the draft day press conference than to field excellent players two years later. I like our draft a lot. We replenished all key positions. A veteran receiver by July is likely. It’s spring, time for tearing out the weeds and sick plants; raking out the beds. We plant anew, fertilize and watch the plants grow.

I started following the the Rams in 69 after watching “ The NFL Game of the Week” with Pat Summerall and Tom Brookshire one Saturday afternoon. The Rams were 9-0 at that point and my poor hometown Bills were likely 1-8. Summerall talked about how tough it was to take down “big Gabe”. He was big for QB’s at the time; 6-4 , 225 and could move in the pocket (think Big Ben). He had a very good career but didn’t win a championship. Rams lost to the eventual champion Packers in 67 and Joe Kapp led Vikings in 69. He even made a movie with John Wayne, Rock Hudson and fellow Ram Merlin Olsen. …the Undefeated. RIP big fella.

Here’s what will happen :
Bean will disappoint us and we will envy Kansas City’s draft. Then two years from now we will have solid starters who we love, and kc’s injury riddled trade up pick will be a non factor.

During the Bills’ 6-1 stretch Diggs caught 37 for 349 for one td; Davis 12 for 256 and two tds. That production is hardly irreplaceable. I firmly believe Curtis Samuel, a un-named veteran and an explosive rookie will have no problem re-creating the 2000 yards of production Diggs and Davis had in 23. Joe Brady will continue the diversification and growth of this offense. It will be to the bills advantage to be underestimated——and their opponents peril. Go Bills!

Moving up always gives one the chance to “win the draft” in the eyes of some expert. History has shown the cost is too high, and it fails to be the difference maker (see the falcons with no trophy and see the chiefs hoisting the trophy using a bunch of what-sis). I’d be satisfied with a staying at 28 or even moving down a tad. Moving down and dealing Minnesota’s 2025 number 2 could potentially get us a starting receiver, DT and safety in rounds 2 and 3. We could then grab another receiver in round 4 or 5, in addition to staying open to veterans on the market this summer. We need edge, cb and rb help as well. McConkey, Worthy should still be in play in late round 1, the others in later rounds. This list is from cbs sports.

Burks needs to go through waivers. Dude has not lived up to the beast mode receiver hype nor his salary. He is shaping up to be Kelvin Benjamin instead. Someone to take a flyer on?

Unfortunately Knox is a chronic ball dropper with the worst contract on the team:

The tight end is entering the second season of a four-year, $52 million extension that guarantees most of his money through 2024 but none thereafter. It's possible this agreement changes that, but if not, Knox's future with the team could come into question next offseason. His fantasy value has taken a big hit since the Bills drafted fellow tight end Dalton Kincaid in the first round of the 2023 NFL Draft.”
This is one for which Bean deserves distain. Terrible contract for a middling player. Talk about being in love with a draft pick. Dawson has had some amazing moments but for every great catch there is a drop at the worst time. The 12 man personnel should be back with two tight ends. After getting only 22 for 186 yards in 15 games, it is hard to see him catching a ton of balls. In 2025 he will be likely gone, playing for much much less elsewhere.

Poyer handled it with tact, credit to him for that. Of course he was part of the defensive collapse out there so he had to tread carefully. Tragically McDermott and his coaches were so afraid of giving up one big play, they simply allowed it in small pieces. Protecting the sidelines and leaving the middle open when kc had TO’s was as bad a blunder as not squibbing the kick. Tho I am not convinced that they thought the squib was the best course. Somewhere in his risk adverse mind McD worried the kick wouldn’t go deep enough. 13 was the worst Billsey loss ever. It’s on McDermott. What makes even worse to this day is Coach McD didn’t take responsibility, and he should have. “This loss is on me. I didn't properly guide the team during the last 13 seconds. “ Instead he talked gibberish like some corporate weasel. I threw out a bunch of bills gear after that night. What a bunch of screw up coaches .

I would like to see experimentation with Diggs in the slot at different points in the game. Use he and Kinkaid as funky chess pieces in the middle of the field. Pressure defenses further with our new speed on the outside Adonai Mitchell and Van Jefferson (my cheap FA pick).

I like the 90 we have currently. Help at corner will come post June 1 with a veteran signing. Hopefully someone younger than Booker Eggerson (love you Booker!) There seems to be a real discount of Casey Toohill had 5.5 sacks in limited last year. Even DeShawn Williams had 4.5 in 22 playing some end. I see the Bills as sneaky good in this area; assuming natural growth from AJ and Groot. Miller is pure bonus and who knows Solomon may be a surprise contributor. I am already 100% in with our receiver group. More and more I see Samuel going back outside where he was very successful OSU and early in his pro career. Psyched for the season. I was watching x-files the night before the schedule came out. The resulting smoking man fueled paranoia has me convinced the league is doing its best to get the Jets a division title. Our schedule is brutal. Luckily they have Rodgers and we—-the Josh.
