Josh was top-20 last year and like football, was late in taking up golf and has been rapidly ascending. There's a lot of excellent celebrity golfers at this event but a top-15 or top-10 finish would be something.

When he retires from the NFL I could see Josh trying to become a professional golfer. He is a great athlete and loves the game. He plays all the time. He will have the money to hire a coach to help train him to improve his game. I wouldn't be surprised if he tries this.

I believe Ralph did meddle in that era. Ralph ended up firing Wade Phillips because Wade wouldn't obey him. Thank goodness Pegula does not meddle.

The zeitgeist against Flutie was he didn't  have a long game. I don't know if you can win a Super Bowl that way.

At least with the Bills he doesn't.

Oh...! If we're not careful, this thread could deteriorate into a Doug Flutie versus Rob Johnson debate. Those were some dark days.

Looking back at the MCM game wasn't it Ralph Wilson who wanted Rob Johnson to start instead of Flutie. Flutie had that "it" factor about him that he would find a way to win the game no matter what. That Bills team had a great defense. I wonder if they would have stayed with Flutie at QB could they have won the Super Bowl that year.

So, you’d be happy having one good year and 5 lousy years?  I’d prefer to enjoy all 6 seasons to some extent. To each their own. The Jets SB victory brings no joy today to anyone in their right mind, and that was an historic game.

Give me the Lombardi trophy 24-7-365 and I will live through some tough years while rebuilding. Now that doesn't mean I want to go through decades of crap football like Jets fans have. But if the Bills have to go through 5 tough seasons after winning the Super Bowl before becoming a good team again. Sign me up for that.

  5. For the last regular season at the current stadium the Bills should wear blue over white for all home games. Although for the preseason game against the Giants I would guess the Bills will go with the all-whites being that it will be hot out. All regular season and playoff games this year should be blue over white. It has been the primary home uniform in their history. Wear that in the final season at Highmark. Forget the all blues and reds this year. Bring it back next year if they want but not this year.

Ill put 89 up there as one of the best years. That entire RFK show from Philly is bananas. Although I didnt get on the bus, myself until 92 I got to 8 Grateful Dead-proper shows. What an event they always were.  And same..but to a little bit of a lesser extent, were all the shows from all the iterations of the band that came after 1995.  I like D+C a lot, even moreso with Lane on drums becuase...lets face it...Billy was kinda done.

I know D&C doesn't tour anymore but I could see them doing a yearly thing at "The Sphere" in Vegas. They seem to enjoy that and the graphics for those shows are insane.

It was in the neighborhood of 17 years at least after October as i knew it was hopeless by 11/1.  I always had hope and still watched all the games only because I’m a masochist.  Its probably why I get frustrated by some of the young fans who dont understand minus the SB years from 1988-2006, and maybe 2008-9 when we had the #1 defense in the nation, and flutie was fun to watch.

The early 80’s after 1982 when Knox keft was miserable until 88 when we were on the goal post for the 2nd version of fandemonium, was an absolute horrible.  I still have nightmares over guys like Kay Stephenson, the baffoon.

Why these young people whine about McD and Beane is laughable.  It’s like when you see the bratty kid in the grocery store throw repeated tantrums, and you just are witnessing weakness in parenting.  Blending firmness with a loveable side so they know you care deeply.

I think everyone or most everyone gives McDermott and Beane credit for turning around the franchise. Everyone has enjoyed the regular season as they have done a lot of winning over the past few years. But it is also fair they (mostly McDermott) take their share of the blame for the playoff failures. The Eagles moved on from Reid and he had more success there than McDermott has had in Buffalo and he didn't have a QB as talented as Allen in Philly either.

  8. I wonder what the answers would be on this board if this question of disinterest applied to the Sabres instead of the Bills. To an outsider like me (born on LI now live in NJ) Buffalo is known as a good hockey market but it has the reputation as a football mad city. I don't see interest in the Bills ever declining but the Sabres I am not so sure. But again, I am not from WNY, so I really don't know.

Cook is ranked 24th in yards after contact. That's a reason to move on along with some key drops.

Last year his stats were as follows

    Rushing - 207 carries, 1009 yards, 4.9 avg with 16 TD's

    Receiving - 32 receptions 258 yards 8.1 avg with 2 TD's

18 total TD's is something you can't dismiss. If we had a better receiving group then maybe it would be easier to move on from him, but we don't. He is the 2nd best player on offense. The Bills need him for a Super Bowl run.

I don't even have to read comments on that Twitter post to know it's littered with now do turnovers or doesn't mean anything without a championship

Fair or not the media will bring up no championships if he never wins one just like Marino. If Allen wants to join Brady, Mahomes, Montana, Manning then he needs to win the Lombardi at least once. Hopefully this is the year.

My guess is that a $12 million deal with $30 million guaranteed will get done by game 1.  He knows that this team is his best chance to get a SB, and the Bills know that he is the perfect RB for this offense.  If they wait a year, his price goes up.

I hope so because if they don't have him their chances for a Super Bowl take a major hit. The Bills WR's/TE's are average, and Allen can't do it by himself. Cook may not be in Barkley and Henry's league, but he is an excellent back who takes a lot of pressure off Allen.
