  1. Happened to catch one of the Simoncasts, middle of last week. (Before the twenty-minute "ENOUGH ALREADY!" rant to open last Friday's show.)

One of his frequent callers, "Butch", was about five minutes into another why-we-have-to-trade-TH soliloquoy. I guess Howard had finally had enough, because he picked a media guide up off the desk and started smacking himself in the head with it, while Butch continued unabated....

Wonder if that actually helped. I might have to try it sometime. But after hearing some of the brilliant JP-Troy Vincent thoughts of the last few days (one guy actually called in to suggest we trade Vincent to San Diego for Doug Flutie), I might be more inclined to use a hardcover book instead.

  2. Jack, I've been meaning to ask you about Sirius. Starting to think of going that direction myself, got a few questions...

-Why did you pick Sirius over XM?

-How was your reception when you were down here in Olean ? And overall, I guess - find any dead-air zones anywhere, and does inclement weather affect reception the way it can sat. TV dishes?

-Do you have the home dock? If so, how's the sound inside? (I'm toying with the idea of seeing if one would function where I work - factory, lots of structural steel, etc., that does in most regular radio signals.... not sure how it would affect a satellite feed.)

Anyone else with either Sirius or XM, feel free to chime in here as well...

  3. Bump this up....

...and I agree. Far as I know, if they put him on IR, he can't practice with the team at ALL this season. Yeah, that extra roster spot would be nice to have available, but looking at the long-term view, I'd rather have my QB-of-the-future be able to start getting reps ASAP than worry about keeping a bottom-of-the-roster guy around.

  4. Problem is, Pepe is from Puerto Rico.  Why is he playing for Argentina?

    :D

Nope, Pepe's definitely Argentinian. When Patricio Prato (another Argentine, now playing in Italy) was here at SBU, he talked about having known Sanchez back home.... Times Herald did a write-up on the two of them before one of the SBU-Temple games...
