  1. I remember exactly where I was for that game - in a Dallas hospital room post surgery for my daughter.  Was supposed to be at the game but then she got ill.  Thankfully her prognosis had improved by that date, and she recovered completely.  The nurses were definitely giving me the business at the end.  The good prognosis helped me from feeling too bummed out.

Snatching defeat from the jaws of victory ... something like Hank Bullough might have said.

    Really great post.Thorough...almost.

I still worry about JA---he was showing poor instincts on countless drives.Which is more than just a few 'mistakes' that you can add up.Its the fundamentals of how he plays. He was thinking too much out there and panicking etc etc etc.Lets not pretend that JA and therefore the entire Bills organization is out of the woods.Remember a guy named Colin Kaepernik??? The great athlete with the great arm and tremendous running ability?? There is still the risk that JA could turn into that if he is not properly mentored. being great for 1/3 of a game and lost for 2/3 of the game  consistently isnt good enough.

The Kaepernick comparison seems right on the money today (not the drama of course which likely derailed a decent 10 year career).  Fingers crossed for more than that.

Would you really want a pre Madonna receiver yelling at Rosen to throw him the ball every play though?

    I don't.

Especially because he really isn't that good anymore as I think age and Injuries have caught up to him

Madonna is sort of old.  Wouldn't Dez be more post madonna?

I haven't been excited for a Super Bowl since the last time the Bills played in one.

Some years, I don't watch Super Bowls.  Once the Bills season is over, I'm ready to move on to other interests.

Besides seeing a few minutes on a couple of them (as the game is on everywhere you go), the last super bowl I watched was in 1988 as my boss was a big packer fan (they lost to Denver).  This one will be the 20th year missed.   I will watch again once the Bills make it back ... if I'm around that is!

  5. Bot 4 extras for the opener this am. Seats in the 100-level mid way up (in sections 116, 129, 107, 138) were available this morning and were still available when I checked back this afternoon. Other price levels were available as well. Should be plenty available tomorrow, hopefully no server issues for you all.

  6. I have my crack at tickets tomorrow AM. What are we looking at in terms of availability for the opener?

I ended up going back for 2 more today. Looks like they are running low on the $75 seats - they show three seat locations when you pick a price level and only one of the three was at that level today, they other two were at the $68 price. Aside from that you should be fine.

  7. Did you buy them online or did you call?

Bought on-line. Got right in at 9am (site did not allow any earlier access). No notorious web problems, though I don't think there are a lot of available buyers on this first day. In fact I checked a hour or so later and similar seats were still available to where I bought.

  8. Available early for 1960-79 season ticket holders and club seat holders. May 19th for post 79 season ticket holders.

Got a couple for the home opener section 107 (30 rows up). Looks like a lot of locations/tickets available (about the same as last year, more plentiful than 2 years ago). First year I remember premium (club seats) being sold in this fashion. Most club seats were lower 6 rows (uncovered)

  9. Its pretty sad that you can't take children to football games

I have been to mlb games in multiple stadiums, along with NHL games and all are great family atmospheres where you can enjoy the game and not have to worry about drunken idiots puking on you, fights breaking out around you, or hearing idiots screaming profanities and vulgar insults around just because their team is losing, or because a fan from another team is sitting near by.

With the NFL, the fans seem to have the attitude of it being their right to do those things and get excessively drunk because "thats part of the experience" and if you don't like it, don't take your kids or go to the "family section" of the stadium

This is all going to eventually lead to the removal of private tailgating before games by the NFL, and into controled/regulated NFL/team sponsored tailgating areas where you will be buying beer like you would in the stadium and eating from concession stands

You are definitely on to something here regarding tailgating.

I like to take the Bills Season ticketholder survey each year (despite its horrible construction) because there are usually questions that give you a clue as to what the brass is thinking. I especially took note as to how the survey mentioned the "priviledge of tailgating". I responded in my free form section that I did not regard tailgating as a priviledge and consider it a very important part of the game day experience. But the choice of words seemed interesting.
