  1. Every year this is the same thing. I’d excuse some poor play if I at least thought he was putting in the effort in the off season to maximize his body.

It’s obvious he can’t get away with it and it will cost us.

Been listening to Joe Moreno of LockedOn Bills who has been saying he wouldn’t be surprised if Bates starts at RG this year. Joe has also shared that he has a relationship with Kromer, the Oline coach.

Interesting. I’d be a little disappointed with that but Bates does have 20 odd NFL starts under his and is a 4 year vet. I have to think Torrence can change their mind with continued solid play when the pads come on

Why you bringing up trauma like this, I was on a road trip in my hotel room with a friend s few doors down the hall and when he did not hear me yell he literally texted me to see if I was ok, he was concerned I had a stroke or something from that play.

I was on vacation in Cuba and that game put such a damper on the vacation…we had the game in the bag…

It's probably the most memorable int I have ever seen watching 50+ years of Bills football.  He literally came out of nowhere.

That INT was phenomenal. Especially the situation.

Maybe because it was live and I had an exceptional view of it but I remember Jairus Byrd making an incredibly athletic interception against the Fish one year. Don’t remember the year. Obviously not as meaningful as we sucked but I’ll never forget that play he made. Out of this world athletic

But it's not really an extravagant contract for the position and shortly it will be even more modest in terms of where it ranks league wide.

That’s fair. Like I said, I’m a fan of Ed. If he can remain healthy they contract will be a good one

What is your definition of production?  I think Oliver was a better investment than Edmunds would have been and I liked Edmunds.

I am not defending the contract as I don’t pay that much attention because positional value changes quickly, but I think Oliver has been disruptive on several occasions.

The contract was precisely what I had the issue with. I like Ed and I think he’s a solid player but it’s all about opportunity cost and where else that money could go.

In a vacuum I think Ed is good but it’s about allocation of resources.

I’m also not saying it was necessarily a wrong decision, just that it is a gamble. I am hoping it pays off.

when I see that kind of money though I am looking for more impact. I don’t see his production as a commensurate with the contract. I think a lot of this is based on health. If Ed can be healthy the contract could prove a good one. He is however undersized for the position and has been injured fairly regularly
