The Bills aren’t terrible. They just aren’t anywhere near as good as they were hyped up to be. After ten games that’’s clear now. Last night the Chargers looked like the Bills want to look, with a no name support cast around a young stud QB. And yet, the Chargers almost blew it and have the same record as our Bills. Things are going to have break the Bills way to make the playoffs. I don’t see this roster beating the Patriots or the Buccaneers.

Disagree here. The Chargers have as good of a supporting cast around Herbert as there is in the league. Maybe even better than ours when you consider their offensive line. Keenan Allen has consistently been one of the best receivers in the league and Mike Williams is very good. Jared Cook is a decent TE and Ekeler is hands down better than any RB we have. He is at least a top 10 back and one of the best pass catching backs in the league. Their offensive line is probably top 5.

Allen is saying what you’d expect a Franchise QB to say, but he knows.. as do we… that the Defense, OL & RB situation is holding us back - not him.

I’m a big praise in public and critique in private guy, but maybe McDermott should make it known some guys need to be better so Allen doesn’t have to keep taking unwarranted blame.

The Defense, OL and RB's are holding us back but at the same time, I would also expect Josh to raise his game to cover up some of those deficiencies. Josh is capable of doing that and has done it in the past but he needs to do it more consistently. This issue is not going to get better considering that Josh will be taking up a huge chunk of the salary cap. IMO, he is a top 5 player in this league and he needs to show it more often than he has this year.

Herbert is eerily similar to Allen from what I've seen tonight so far. Makes some great decisions and throws, but then comes back with a horrible/dangerous play or two. Seems to have that hero ball mentality, but maybe not as prominent as Josh can be.

Kind of disagree here. I think Herbert does a great job of staying within the offense and taking what the defense gives him. I watch plenty of his games. Not a lot of hero ball from him.

    Uhm, no:

    1. Kyler Murray - 2,276 passing yards / 72.7% comp% / 20 total TD's / 7 total TO's / 285 ypg / 110.4 RTG

    2. Tom Brady -  2,275 passing yards / 67.0% comp % / 22 total TD's / 3 total TO's / 325 ypg /  108.2 RTG (today's game not included yet, so add another 300+ & 4 TD's)

    3. Matt Stafford - 2,477 passing yards / 68.9% comp%/ 22 total TD's / 4 total TO's / 310 ypg / 116.7 RTG

    4. Aaron Rodgers - 1,894 passing yards / 67.1% comp%/ 19 total TD's / 3 total TO's / 237 ypg / 105.7 RTG

    5. Josh Allen - 1,972 passing yards / 65.4% comp% / 20 total TD's / 4 total TO's / 287 ypg / 103.6 RTG

Allen is not throwing enough TD's in the top 3.

Assuming this is your order, you can make the argument for Murray, Stafford and Brady to be ahead of Allen but why would Rodgers be ahead of him?

Lets not also forget that Josh has sat out for 2 4th quarters because of the blowouts.

allen is still playing elite but there is no way, no how he is an MVP favorite. He’s still in the convo for sure. Murray’s better. Lamar is hotter over the past two weeks. Brady is still being Brady, unfortunately. Allen’s somewhere around 4th or 5th (forgot about Rodgers.)

I would agree that Josh is probably in the range of 2-4 in terms of MVP favorite and there are several whom can make that claim being Murray, Lamar, Herbert and probably Henry. I disagree that Murray is better. If you look at their numbers, they are on par with Murray having better completion%, passer rating and a few other categories and Josh having slightly more touchdowns and less interceptions and fumbles. What separates them currently is the win/loss record.

As for Lamar, I don't think he is playing better, I think  because his team is winning and Josh just lost, so your viewpoint is slightly skewed IMO.

Spikes was a great LB in his day, but I don't think he was fast enough to play today.  Every player except QBs, linemen, Ks and Ps have to be really fast.  The day of the big powerful thumper at LB is pretty much over.

I disagree. What made Takeo great was that he was not only a thumper but also a great sideline to sideline linebacker as well. He would put this defense over the top.

No, what is happening in this thread is that you and some others are calling Allen and Herbert “clones” — it’s been said more than once.  Herbert has a lot of ability and had an excellent rookie year.  He’s not Allen.  Period.

To be fair here, Herbert is extremely athletic, just like Allen. They are relatively the same height and size. The athleticism, separate from arm talent is on par. What separates Josh from Herbert is his leadership, competitiveness and of course arm talent.

Well…. PFF just ranked him all the way down at #40 in their countdown of top players heading into next year. They also only put Diggs at #45 while AJ Brown is at 38… so at least we have that bit of normalcy still 😂. Schlereth and Cowherd have some thoughts on that right here at the 3:20 mark

Colin Cowherd has changed his tune quite a bit regarding Josh. When the top 100 came out and Josh was at 88 I think, he ridiculed him for being so high now it’s the opposite. Nice to see those in the media giving Josh his respect.

Simms putting Josh number 2 isn’t as much of a hot take as it’s a confirmation to many Bills fan that Josh is really as good as we think he is. Can’t wait to see how he has improved this off-season.
