  1. My biggest hope at this point would be to stay where they are, take Cooper DeJean, who would be outstanding value there, and then trade our 2nd, 2nd round pick along with a few of our day 3 pics to move back into the 36-45 range and there we take the best receiver on our board remaining.

So you refuse to see the potential for it to work out ok for the Bills and even be a gain because you perceive the risk to make the chiefs better too great but you also refuse to consider how the Chiefs would have gotten the player they wanted anyway.

    Ok.

I don't refuse to see any of that.  Sure, Worthy might be a bust. It's certainly possible.  But at the very least, let's be real about this.  With 4.21 speed if all he does is fly down the field on go routes all season, he will move over a safety and open things up even more for everyone else, including Kelce.  furthermore, I absolutely think KC would have gotten their man regardless if we would have declined to trade with them.  I just hate that we intentionally agreed to trade with the 3 time winning Super Bowl QB and his Kool-aid head coach, Andy Reid.

Look man, I'm not trying to be a jerk or to pick a fight with you.  Let's just agree to disagree.  I hope I am proven wrong and Beane unleashes an amazing plan that starts to unfold today and Buffalo takes over the AFC for years to come!!

OK. Fair enough. In my opinion it’s not a rule but a consideration. I again would implore you to wait and see what the team does today before you finalize this opinion.

I'll do my best and I hope you are right.  Maybe Beane has a master plan that is about to unfold and it will shock everyone and set us up for great future success.  That is always the hope!

There is no such rule! And the fact that you don’t care what you might gain from such a trade is really a bad taking my opinion. It seems like so many posters think Worthy will step on the field and be all world. Beane may actually pulling a fast one here. I’m fine with the trade and I don’t care that Kansas City got Worthy. He is way too boom or bust for me.Why don’t you wait and see what happens today before you render an opinion?

I guess because I'm a fan of the team and one of the benefits about being a fan is that I'm allowed to make an opinion or forecast based on my own homework and or my own discretion.  I just hate the optics of willingly agreeing to a trade with KC.  If that doesn't bother you, then great, that's your opinion.  I'm not going to knock you for it.  We can agree to disagree.  I just have a really bad taste in my mouth right now and It's obvious I'm not alone here.

Why? Because it hurts your feelings? You haven't given a single other reason, nor have you explained how the Chiefs don't end up with Worthy.

Unless you suggest we took Worthy despite not wanting him? That does not sound like a great strategy.

What are you even talking about right now?  I DON'T CARE how the Chiefs don't end up with Worthy, if in some alternative reality they didn't pick him.  I don't care who they picked up at that spot.  Why are you focusing on the player they selected?  I'm not.  All I am saying is you DON'T trade with your biggest rival.  Who else does that?  If you don't think there are a lot of Buffalo Bills players who  feel surprised/angry/shocked that we traded with KC, I don't know what to tell you.  It's a horrible look for the franchise right now and it continues to align with the narrative that KC is the bully on the block and we can't do/won't do a damn thing about it.

Explain how the Chiefs don't get a WR at 32? The Bills clearly didnt want Worthy. They extorted a pick out of the Chiefs for the privilege of moving up for him.

If the Bills dont trade and take a WR, the chiefs get Worthy.

If the Bills dont trade and take a CB, the chiefs get Worthy.

If the Bills trade with another team and that team takes Worthy - Chiefs pick one of the other WR options at 32

The chiefs dont have a great history of picking WRs either so some people nominating this guy Hill 2.0 is crazy. I remember when Skye Moore was selected this place was annoyed as well.

That's not the point.  You don't trade with your BIGGEST rival.  I don't care what you gain from it.  Andy Reid and Mahomes will continue to be our dad and grandad until they both retire, unless we grow some balls and do something about it.

Are people hating on Cooper DeJean because they don’t want a defensive player? Even if he is clearly the best available in a pretty thin safety class?

I don't think anyone is hating on him.  He is a very good player.  I think people, including myself, don't view his position as the biggest need right now, though yes it is a need.

I plan on not living in the past.

How is not feeling super positive about this draft based on recent history between Buffalo and KC "living in the past"?  How confident do you feel about the current regime and their ability and or desire to give Allen the weapons he needs/deserves to contend with KC and the Bengals going forward?

I do not live like that. You want to be the best you simply beat the best. I'm  sure Beane explored other options but KC may have been the only option.

I love Allen as our QB and I don't  stew at all about that trade. Allen's not the reason we haven't gotten over the hump

Allen is the main reason we have remained competitive these last 5 years.  It's because of him and in spite of the blunders made by Beane and the front office.  Say what you want to or feel how you feel, but to me it's obvious our coaching staff and management is lightyears behind KC's.  As long as that is the case, we will always be chasing them.

    EXACTLY what this is.

    Fear based loser mentality.

It's also REALITY.  How can you possibly look at what has transpired between the Bills and the Chiefs going back to the 2017 draft and not feel the same?

  10. 21 minutes ago, BillMafia716ix said:

Draft is very deep at WR whoever we select is going to be a good player and will benefit playing with 17. That’s why I don’t think Beane is being desperate. If he was, he would have traded up for BTJ or drafted one last night.

I think they are going to draft Cooper DeJean at 33 and then grab their WR at pick 60

if they do that, I see them trading their pick at 60 and a 4th, maybe a 4th and a 5th to move up closer to 40 or 45 for their wr.

  11. What if we pull the trigger and select Cooper Dejean, which we all know is a REAL possibility.  We would then have to trade back up into the 2nd round to have a chance at most of the receivers on that list and there is no guarantee the one/one's they want will still be available.  I just don't have a great feeling right now.  Hoping Beane has a master plan that will begin to unfold as the day goes on....

Far from a troll. Big-time Bills fan, here. If you don't like my posts, block me. Quit acting like a baby while asking others to back you up. That's some weak 💩. Stand on your own.

You sure sound like a troll, especially when you get all defensive.  I'm sorry if I upset you,  lil guy! :)

CJ Stroud seems like he's taking the job of being an NFL QB seriously. Maybe when the media fawns over him, he'll become a "celebrity QB", like Josh. I really hope Josh comes in as a mature QB this year. We need that more than a top wr. Mahomes proved that last year.

Your anti-Allen dribble is quickly becoming tiring.  How many times are you going to post the same thought over and over and over?  Anyone want to start a poll on banning this troll?

All this talk about "We need a young deep threat" in the 1st round.  Stop trying to control that which cannot be controlled. Our younger, speed threat is now on the team.

    Tyreek Hill, Age 30, 40 time: 4.29

    Curtis Samuel, Age 27, 40 time: 4.31

Fair comparison.  Look for Brady to use Samuel with a lot of motion and 15 yd slants which go for 30 - 40 yds.  Would you take Tyreek Hill as a suitable #2? Yes.  I give you a younger Tyreek Hill already on our team.

Will all due respect, Hill has a career average of 14.1 yards.  A true deep threat.  Samuel has a career average of 10.7 yards.  Much more in line with what you see out of a 'possession receiver'.  They are no where close to being the same player.

I am AMPED for Sunday and cannot wait for Josh to go out and display his game to the world. Finally put to rest the talk of "the bills should have drafted Mahomes". Gonna be EPCOT!

not THAT is what I'm talking about!!!  Let's gooooooooooooo!!

Forecasts literally change an hour before LOL. And that is ONE FORECAST you are referencing, I can show you dozens of others that give a different interpretation of what the weather will be. THAT is why its pointless. The weather nerds and worry warts should go start a weather thread instead of bogging down pregame threads. Was annoying as hell last week, just as annoying this week.

thats the last ill be saying about a pointless topic.

I don't want to continue to argue with you about the weather.  Yes, of course forecast's change from day to day but OBVIOUSLY the closer you get to the game, the less likely it is to change with any kind of relevancy.  This is a football forum where we have the right to discuss these types of things and shouldn't' have to deal with posters like you who call people out and get all bent out of shape about it.  If it bothers you that  much, why not just ignore these posts and look for something else?

We are all Bills fans with differing point of views and that is what makes it so great.  The ability to discuss these types of issues without losing our cool or decorum.  That said, Go Bills!!

Updated weather forecast shows it will be overcast during the game with only a 1% chance of any precip and temps in the low 30s with light 10 mph winds...definitely a win.

I would love for that to be the case!  But this is from the national weather service here which shows a 60% chance of rain showers:

Cloudy with occasional rain showers. Low 34F. Winds NE at 5 to 10 mph. Chance of rain 60%.

You would think a team from WNY would or should be built to play in bad weather. If not Terry better get that new domed/retractable roof stadium built ASAP.

I couldn't agree more.  We don't have the power running game and mauling o.line that The bills enjoyed with Thurman Thomas back in the early 90's.  That team actually seemed to play better in the rain and snow.  We are, at least for the moment, more of a spread you out and beat you with the pass team.  Much more of a finesse team than a power team.  I'd be fine with a dome.

yea thats my point, waste of dam time, we all heard how bad the weather was going and how much snow there would be alllllll last week and how the snow would give the edge to the Ravens. How did that work out? lol.

Worrying about something that changes constantly is DUMB. Both teams also have to play in it. Its pointless. Glad ya'll concern youselves with dumbsh!t. Its annoying to the rest of us.

How is it dumb?  Today is Thursday.  The game is played in 3 days.  The chance for a dramatic weather shift at this point is slim to none.  Regarding the rain, as has been pointed out many times now, the Bills played much worse in it that did the Chiefs.  I thought that was pretty obvious.  Of course the brace effected Allen but I just get the feeling KC plays better in inclement weather.  I hope I'm proven wrong.  We are fans.  We discuss things that impact the game and there is nothing besides injuries that impact the game more besides weather!!
