And to think, many Bills fans said that Matt Milano was a bigger priority to resign than Daryl Williams.
We can all agree now that Daryl Williams is FA priority #1, right?
Right??

I thought Rivers was fine. He airmailed those last two passes on the sideline I guess because he didn't like the coverage and didn't want to make a risky throw. Probably like him to make the risky throws their to try to get a completion. But by that point of the game the Colts were in a pretty rough spot without the ability to complete anything in bounds. So take away those two plays Rivers was great including in the 4th quarter to bring his team back. He had a 91 QBR. Much better than his 94 passer rating. His receivers had some big time drops. Was really the only way our defense could stop them on 3rd down is if their receivers didn't make the play.
That's all Colts O-Line and Frank Reich's offensive scheme. They controlled the game. Rivers played his role of System QB, made wide open throws with all day to throw, but left about 17 points off the scoreboard when it mattered most.
Classic Philip Rivers. He does just enough to find a way to come up just short. It's what he does.
2 weeks ago, this guy blew a 24-7 lead to Pittsburgh, preventing them from winning the division.
It's just what Philip Rivers does.

Well...you are in the minority thinking Rivers choked. That’s all I’m gonna say...
I was also in the minority saying Josh Allen was the best player in the 2018 Draft, before the draft.
How did that turn out?
Just now, Green Lightning said:And your choking continues. Doubling down on dumb is no way to go through life son.
Take the L and move on.
Rivers left 17 points off the scoreboard.
17 points.
He choked.

Well...I “simply” was...
You just cherry picked a few negatives. What about all the good throws and no turnovers? Rivers played well.
And that fourth down throw hit Pittman in both hands. It was a very good throw off his back foot. I’d argue that Rivers looked as good yesterday as he had all year. Kudos to him...
I cherrypicked the BIGGEST plays of the game where Rivers left 17 points off the scoreboard?
That is the WHOLE point. Doh!

You choked, nobody is buying your lame posts.
This is classic Philip Rivers; he fools gullible people like yourself and others.
You're proving my point.
That was the most Philip Rivers loss ever.
He has an unbelievable knack for coming up short when it matters most.
In Week 16, he had a 24-7 lead against the Steelers and choked that game away as well.

Ha, you are very limited my friend. I will leave you and your failed hate posts for others to also dismiss.
Rivers choked.
This is a fact.
He cost the Colts 14-17 points.

I was wondering, because to say Rivers stunk and choked yesterday is completely ridiculous. He had a great game. All qbs miss throws every game.
Rivers' missed throws cost the Colts 14-17 points.
Big difference.

Two plays? Wow, by your standard every one choked yesterday. What, did Rivers insult your mom or something? He executed a near perfect game plan yesterday. If their kicker doesn't doink a gimme we'd have been in OT. Thank God for Josh, Diggs and Bass.
1st and 10 at the Bills 46 yard line.
Rivers needs 10 yards to get into FG range.
On 4 downs, Rivers did this:
1) -1 yard completion (terrible decision to even throw behind the LOS there)
2) Terrible pass incompletion
3) Terrible pass incompletion
4) Terrible pass incompletion
He choked.
If you followed Rivers for his entire career, you would know that he choked in the most classic Philip Rivers fashion.

Rivers choked. It's a fact.
He's done this his whole career.
He tricks and fools people like you.

The Colts have a very good, physical defense and they played, arguably, their best defensive game (and overall game) of the season. They had consistent QB pressured the entire game and Allen rarely threw from a clean pocket. He was evading a rush and extending plays almost every time he dropped back. IMO, the Bills do not win that game without Allen playing at an elite level. Outside of Rogers and Mahomes, I don't think any other QB could have done what Allen did in that game. Again, IMO.
Neither Rodgers nor Mahomes could have done what Josh did given that the Colts were controlling the game in the 1st half.
If either Rodgers or Mahomes was the Bills QB yesterday, Bills lose.
Josh Allen is the only QB that could have won that game for the Bills. The only one.

He carved us up and coverted a ridiculous amout of 3rd & 4th and longs. With no time outs and seconds left sideline throws were his only option, and we covered them. His receivers dropped key passes and even the missed TD toss hit his receiver's hands. What game were you watching?
The game where Philip Rivers choked the game away, as he usually does in big games.
The missed TD toss was an overthrown ball.
He threw behind Pittman right before the missed FG. Would have been a 1st down and likely TD.
-
Rivers cost the Colts 14 points yesterday. Missed throw on 4th and Goal, missed throw on 3rd and 7 before the shanked FG.
Had 1st and 10 at the Bills 46 yard line, needing just 10 more yards for FG range...and he doesn't move them any closer.
-
36 minutes ago, whorlnut said:
That’s not what I saw at all...Rivers was really good.
Then you simply were not paying attention.
1) Overthrown pass on 4th and Goal. Cost them 7 points.
2) Threw behind the WR on the critical 3rd-and-7 before the shanked FG. Cost them 7 points.
3) 1st-and-10 at the Buffalo 46 yard line needing a FG to tie...Rivers fails to move the Offense into FG range.
Choke Artist.
4 minutes ago, GunnerBill said:I don't think Rivers choked yesterday. I think Reich and his skill players did. The Colts outcoached the Bills scheme wise but Sean outcoached Frank in game management.
The bolded isn't all on the D. Dreadful special teams played into that too.
You're wrong. Rivers choked. See my last post.
-
The Bills defense was completely bailed out by Philip Rivers being Philip Rivers in big games.
Ask Charger fans how Rivers does in the biggest spots.
Perennial choke artist.

Luckily for Buffalo, the Colts have a perennnial Choke Artist at the QB position. He cannot make the big throws to win big games. Seen it his entire career. He falls apart when it matters. Every single time.
This is why Eli Manning > Philip Rivers forever and always.

No we don't.
Second year in a row where Brown just doesn't show up in playoffs. Starting to really think he is gone next season.
Yup.
John Brown has become the biggest liability on the offense.
They're better off with John Brown not playing.

This is an obvious smokescreen. They're going QB.
Nice try Miami.

I pray Daboll goes to the Jets so Josh can kick his butt twice a year.

Josh Allen didn't get us into the playoffs last year with two weeks to spare.
I think if you go back and check out the box scores, you will find there were 11 players on the field pretty much at all times. That was the Buffalo Bills who did that, and frankly the defense was a lot more responsible for their success last year than the offense. The defense was edging on elite last year while the offense was pretty average.
For the eight billion and first time, wins are not a QB stat. They are a team stat.
False.
Allen indeed got the Bills to the playoffs last year. He was the leader of the football team. He led the team to the playoffs.
Wins/Losses are BOTH a team stat AND a QB stat (as well as HC stat)

I mean he's not wrong really this is just year 3 I would be surprised if with even more experience he doesn't continue to improve. That doesn't necessarily translate to way better seasons statistically though.
Josh had 29 total TDs last year, and 46 total TDs this year.
At this rate, he'll hit 60 TDs next year.
Better statistical seasons are coming for sure.

He does not, at all. Darnold has extremely Low Football IQ, is a slow processor, is a perpetual Turnover Machine, is horribly inaccurate, and is a horrible leader.
Darnold has no future in the NFL.
Stop being brainwashed by the "Let's All Protect Sam Darnold" media agenda.

He also said Darnold was really good so uhh...
That's a media agreed-upon thing.
"Do not speak bad about Darnold because he is such a nice guy"
Everyone in media circles has gotten this memo. No matter how awful Darnold plays, all of the media has mutually agreed to never criticize him.
Jordan Palmer is just playing along here like the rest of the media. He doesn't actually believe what he says about Darnold. Not one word.
However, what he said about Allen, he clearly does believe, and he should, because he is 1000% correct.

Not true. Elias counted it as a QB start. I thought and posted the same thing but was later corrected.
ProFootballReference has Allen down for 16 starts but a "QBrec" of 12-3 (instead of 13-3)

Minor note:
JA17 started the game at WR (not QB) and does NOT get credit for yesterday's Win.

Will Deshaun Watson get traded? Could he land in AFCE?

God, I sure do hope he does come to the AFC East.
Although he is a Losing Momentum QB who cannot play with tempo, (Watson is NEVER in control of a football game, and the vast majority of his fake stats come when trailing by 2+ possessions, he does add some excitement to the division and will no doubt get his butt kicked 2x a year by the great Josh Allen. I want Watson in the AFC East so Josh Allen can demolish him every year.
