I considered it years ago since I work on the road, so if I can get to an airport, I could live anywhere.  Never got very far in looking, but I was thinking Saranac Lake area.  My requirements were simple, a decent grocery store, high speed Internet, and major shopping within an hour drive.

SL/LP area exactly fulfills those requirements. The airport can support wide body jets and Cape Air has regular connecting flights. There’s enough money in LP to support several grocery stores and restaurants.

  2. My wife and I live in central NY and have had a small cabin in the Saranac Lake/Lake Placid area for sixteen years. We get season passes at Iceface and XC ski in the Winter. During the Summer it’s all fun and games with hiking and paddling. Until recently our plan after retirement was build a house on the property. Instead we’ve bought a home on the Maine coast to retire to. Part of the reason is that later in life when we’re not as physically active and not doing outdoor activities we thought we might be to isolated. The pluses to the SL/LP area are the outdoor activities, we have developed friendships there, and my view as a visitor is that SL has a strong sense of community. The negatives are the poor economy and the cold Winters. For retirees (there are many in the region) the economy isn’t an issue. It really is cold there in Winter. People are used to it and it doesn’t dominate conversation until it hits at least -25 or so.

  3. Awesome show. I haven’t been to a Maiden show since the ’80s, this was everything I could have hope for. I still get that chill factor with their music. It’s pretty cool when 18,000 people know the lyrics to all the songs and can belt them out louder than Bruce’s amplified voice. They played for two hours - they’ve got serious respect for the fans.

  4. I’m an old dude that doesn’t do big ass concert events anymore. Except for one. The O’lady gave me a kitchen pass for the Maiden concert in Buffalo! I’ll be there. First saw them at Rich Stadium in ‘81 at Super Fest. Still my favorite band. Glad to see that they’ve a worldwide following, especially the generations after mine. Shows that there’s an intrinsic love of the music.

  5. Gotta bump the thread. Maiden’s music is the first that really grabbed me to the core. And that’s after listening to some ‘70s radio air-time filled with some pretty famous acts. Sorry Stones, Beatles, Zepp, etc. Maiden rules, even after all these years. First heard them because of the radio promos for Super Fest at Rich Stadium (‘81?). They played “Hallowed Be Thy Name”, and I was hooked.

What he is truly we may never know. But there's enough evidence out there to at least make the case that his priorities were not America first, but Iran first. That alone makes him suspect, if not treasonous, in my book.

As Mike Moore says in his book that was released today, there’s no statute of limitations on treason. Too much is coming out to not demand the application of law to his crimes. It will take time but in the end I believe he’ll be charged.

Ive decided to log out and not look again until Monday.

Now you’re starting to think clearly. To fully think clearly you’d log out until next year or later.

What do you think your account would look like if the cabal’s seditious acts were successful and H was president? Suppose it might be lower than the recent dip?
