All the same nonsense we heard when Josh Allen was drafted…

Thank you! I too have not heard this level of dissatisfaction with a draft pick since the "wrong Josh" was picked.

No one knows how any of these drafted players will translate to the NFL - just need to let it play out & hope that Mcbeane made a wise choice & that Keon becomes the WR that we need (sooner rather than later). What we had the last couple years was not enough to get us over the top. I'm glad that we did not just try to run it back again. I look forward to seeing what happens.

Nope. Hype them up MORE. Love it. Twice the pride double the fall

The Jets have done what they always do. Make a bunch of headline grabbing off season moves. Remember all the hype when they signed Lev Bell and hired Adam Gase? Their offense has holes at OL. Two talented RBs coming off major surgery. Wilson is excellent. Then they have Aaron with his head in the clouds saying how "much this is like a dream" and Saleh trying his hardest to be hard arsed.

Their defense is good. I'll give them that. Matches up against Buffalo well. And, though they are GOOD it's not as great of a defense as they want to think. They aren't the '85 Bears.  The tumble in "JetLife Stadium" will be swift and unforgiving this year IMO.

The Jets are sickeningly overhyped - no doubt. Proof positive that the NYC/NJ media will hype absolutely anything is that this guy was hyped by them:

Looking forward to the impending Jets collapse. I still think that the Jets will finish last in the AFC East this year - that's right - I think that even the Pats* will win more games than the Jets when all is said and done. I hope to enjoy hearing all the wailing & complaining when it happens.

  3. I must go back a bit further in history for my #1 choice - Dan Manucci! We were completely dead in the water if Joe Ferguson had to be out of the lineup in the early 80's with this guy as our #2.

Seriously though - Fitz must be the best back-up option in more recent years - with Frank Reich being the obvious best back-up QB in team history.

  4. At first, I felt pretty good about Bills fans being ranked as the smartest fan base.

However - I then saw that Jets fans are ranked #30 - I'm sorry, but I cannot take any rankings seriously if Jets fans are ranked anywhere else except #32. There is no way that any fan base can be less knowledgeable than Jets fans!

  5. I greatly appreciate the work that the US Postal Service does. It remains a mystery to me how it is a cottage industry for some people to complain about the Postal Service.

Imagine being able to walk into a building in Western New York & hand some paper to someone behind a counter and say to them - "Send this to Alaska for me" and they say - "Yes Sir - that will be 63 cents & we'll have it there in a couple of days". I think that it is amazing that such a low-cost service is available to everyone, from anywhere, in the United States - yet people complain about the price of stamps! The issue is that the Americans have been spoiled by the Postal Service & have lost appreciation for it.

On the other hand - the Postal Service will need to transition from the "letter" business to the "package" business as our economy continues to evolve. I believe that this transition is already in progress. I hope that the Postal Service, in some form that serves our country, will exist for generations to come.

  6. This is kind of random but -- in the early 1980's I met Ron Jessie in the grocery store. Spoke for just a few minutes. Jessie had an extremely impressive afro - wish that I was lucky enough to have hair like that. Years later I was surprised to hear someone tell me that the old Rick Springfield son "Jessie's Girl" had a connection to Ron Jessie - how strange is that. I know that you can't believe everything from Wikipedia but:

  7. I admit that I am a homer & I expect that the Bills will make the playoff this year. However - for any NFL team it is way more likely to miss the playoffs entirely than winning a conference championship or a Super Bowl. A key injury or two can take down any franchise's season. Winning a Conference title or a Super Bowl requires a lot of things to go just right for a team. After about fifty years of being a Bills fans I am hoping that this is finally the year that Jupiter aligns with Mars for the team & the team goes all the way. A guy has to dream a little...

The Chiefs might need some help on the DL - I'm sure that they wouldn't have any issue with signing this guy.

I may have been wrong about the Chiefs - perhaps the Bengals are a better situation for him. Joe Mixon may need a roommate. Mixon would be a great influence on this young man - he would never hit a woman or a child (allegedly). The hypocrisy in the NFL sometimes shows no bounds ...

Glad they had the good sense to use the Labatt's Blue Light logo instead of Bud Light with that red helmet - probably want to avoid Anheuser- Busch brands all together about now.🙂

I liked the red helmets - hope they can be used as a throwback this year,

Maybe I like them because I associate them with memories of the team wearing them in Super Bowls .... not so much because they look good.

  10. Oh boy - there are so many odd things floated at this "dead" time of the year for real NFL news - this sure seems to fall under the category of "nonsense".

On the other hand - maybe they could trade Diggs straight up for Tyreek Hill - he seems like a real "Process" type & an all-around good guy too.

Training camp can't get here soon enough - until then I'll just try to enjoy Summer.

Step 1 is just accepting that Allen is not Mahomes, and therefore, he needs more talent around him on offense to keep up with the Chiefs.

The offensive line is an average, really all positions could be upgraded, but Center and Right Tackle would improve the team the most right now.

I've said before that the Bills need another Diggs level, and have thought this is a big reason why they haven't improved from 2020. Beane added Diggs and then stopped at WR.

A guy on CBS Sports radio a couple of weeks ago was going on and on about snowy weather and the Bills needing a power run game. I just don't buy that at all. Of course a Derrick Henry or prime Dalvin Cook would help the team, but are smart teams spending premium assets on running backs?

A few years back the media was all over Etienne to the Bills. Would we be much better off with him? He missed his entire rookie season, and had 1150 yards last year.

I may be just an old simpleton - but it seems to me that teams with dominate lines on both sides of the line of scrimmage & great QB play tend to win the title most often (though not always), We have the QB - if play on both the OL & DL is upgraded - the rest often falls into place. The upcoming season will succeed or fail based on how well the personnel decisions work out on both the lines - and of course on a certain amount of luck going our way - such as avoiding excessive (key) significant injuries.

Diggs and Hill sat next to each other in jail

Hill turns to Diggs "What you in for, mate?"

Diggs, "Didn't go to training one day. You?"

That's funny - brought Arlo Guthrie to my mind - for anyone old enough to remember/appreciate "Alice's Restaurant" your post brings a chuckle.

I can just imagine the conversation between Diggs & Hill on the Group W bench- at least Hill is not in for littering!

Thank you so much for this succinct summary of all the rumors regarding the Diggs/Allen soap opera. I really don't have the patience to search for all of it. If any of this is true - let's hope that Josh doesn't get completely out of control & go all Travis Henry on us ...

I was just thinking - I hope that Josh's family tree doesn't wind up looking something like this someday:

                                    HENRY FAMILY TREE

Father's Day weekend must be one of the most eventful few days of the year for the Henry family.

Ok for those joining late I will provide a recap of all information known from all sources.

Last year before the Bengals game Josh Allen cheated on his long time girlfriend with a barmaid. Knocked her up. Then had a confrontation with his ex at 3am the night before the Bengals playoff game leading to a poor performance (on the field not in the bedroom).

Diggs was angered by this because he's a competitive guy. Around the same time Allen allegedly slept with (and impregnated) one of Stef's friends wives. Then went on to have some down time with one of Stef's ex's.

MEANWHILE: Diggs feels like he has no say in the offense and wishes Ken Dorsey would stop being mean and get him the ball more. He's also cheesed off that the Bills didn't do enough to help him and take the pressure off him while also being offended that the Bills flirted with bringing in DHop...who Im sure didn't sign here because our QB can't keep his putter in his pants.

After the season everyone went their separate ways for 5 months. But they had conversations. Of course they also didn't speak at all. Stef did photo shoots. Allen was on the red carpet sleeping with movie stars and playing golf. Von was rehabbing and making statements of grandeur about Beane signing every player that made an all pro team since 1994.

Also happening at the same time Chad Hall took a lateral move to Jacksonville because he was passed over for promotion and Diggs didn't like that. Unconfirmed is if Hall took the position to keep his wife as far away from Allen's unchecked Talley whacker as possible.

It all boils over yesterday when Diggs reported to the team with the intent to practice...yet somehow left before practice. I believe McDermott said something about being "very concerned" that out out of control sex freak of a QB was targeting his wife next(citation needed).

Also, no one saw these issues coming. Except for Jerry Sullivan who was clued into the issues before they even happened by Ryan Fitzpatrick (he did go to Harvard). And 95% of the board has no clue what "cap" means in modern slang.

Thank you so much for this succinct summary of all the rumors regarding the Diggs/Allen soap opera. I really don't have the patience to search for all of it. If any of this is true - let's hope that Josh doesn't get completely out of control & go all Travis Henry on us ...

  15. A team's offensive coordinator is often public enemy number one with a certain group of fans. No one thinks that they can play QB like Josh Allen, but It seems that a vocal segment of any fan base believes that they could also call the perfect play for any game situation.  I remember when a vocal minority of fans thought that Brian Daboll was the source of any & all team issues.
