  1. Been saying it over and over: the league WANTS the perception of ‘bad officials.’ They WANT fans to think that. This perception allows them to keep steering games quite effectively under the guise of blown calls. These frickin guys are middle school principals and gym teachers at their ‘day’ jobs. You cannot have a working brain and believe the NFL isn’t 100% happy w the ref situation.

And they know we’ll never stop following ours and stop watching.

This is not a political question, this is strictly a Football and NFL question. So please no divisive politics.  We should be able to discuss here.

Was watching ESPN and the topic of the "Rooney Rule" came up. Steven A. Smith had some very strong words here in this video. Can someone please explain this rule to me??? Ima a little confused here. From what I understand is that any Head Coaching position that is available/open there has to be at least one minority Interviewed and considered for this position. Seems like this rule was met and adhered to in the signing this week. What exactly is the argument here? Do they now want to Force Owners and Management to Hire Minority Coaches? In essence tell owners who they should hire, pay and lead their team/business? I have never heard anything of this sort in Business

The Rooney Rule (still) isn’t working

The Rooney rule is dumb and unnecessary

NFL coaching and NFL players aren't comparable professions. The Rooney Rule doesn't force quotas or impose any undue burden on teams to simply do due diligence in interviewing one minority candidate for a head coaching opening. It doesn't seem even remotely comparable a situation.

    It’s unnecessary and embarrassing tbh

Duke didn't catch it because he's not an NFL caliber impact WR, he's an undrafted fringe roster worthy CFL free agent signing.

Beane needs to finish building this WR corp. The 2018 WR group was an embarrassment for any professional football team trying to win. Adding Brown and Beasley was a massive improvement but the remainder of the group is just as bad as 18 and has zero draft capital invested in it.

It's lunacy that Duke, who didn't even dress half the year and sparingly played got 10 targets and the largest script in the passing game in our playoff matchup. That's on coaching 100%. It's a slap in the face to Brown and Beasley too, those guys should be ripping.

You realize Josh didn’t have to target Duke right? What a dumb comment. Josh obviously has a connection w Duke timing and feel wise.

Except you are wrong.  The returner signaled NO RETURN prior to giving the ball up.  He established there would be NO RUN BACK via signal and gestured to the ref to give him the ball.  There were no players within the immediate vicinity of him.  The refs have the ability to make the determination if the player had chosen to give themself up, which they clearly did and was accurate.  Refs have the ability to rule that a player has chosen to give themselves up versus being touched down by contact.

It was absolutely the correct call to remove the TD.  Its not the first time this season a player was ruled to have "given himself up" either.

Except the fact refs have the ability to make that determination, and like many rules, its often a judgement call.

Here is what you and others are missing...refs are allowed to make a judgement call on whether a runner has given himself up.  He signaled no return and tried to hand the ball to the ref.  Pretty clear as day that he gave himself up, and refs concurred.  Case closed.

So you don’t even acknowledge that the ref actually shook his head NO at the Texan player—gave him a heads up that he DID NOT follow any available rule to give himself up. You are wrong and don’t have the humility within you to admit that. Pride and ego at its finest.

Bills fan since 84 here, I've seen enough to realise and know this deep down inside my soul. Countless non calls and rediculous calls by the refs against us that come in key situations and kill drives and momentum ever since I can remember, at the very least since the music City miracle. Basically any coach that comes here realises that the team will have to be SO dominant to win that it's unreal. The same goes for players in the league. Imo the players and the rest of the league are legit told when it's going to be their year to have a real shot. Imo the only real parity is the draft and free agency but I wouldn't be surprised if that's all being controlled too to a certain extent. To me the NFL has become a soap opera and I'm sick of it.  I'm not even going to speak on how unreal and terribly rigged our game was against us saturday.

Rant over thanks for the read I hope I'm wrong ?

You’re not. It’s a very scripted league. The refs ‘being bad at their jobs’ is the excuse the nfl has been and will continue to foster bc it allows them so much leeway in steering outcomes. The refs for the Bills Texans are also like middle school teachers and principals etc. If you can’t see the intention on behalf of the NFL you’re just in denial.

OP, there's a place for you at Area 51 ......

Stupid comment. We really have the dumbest population of all time.

The on cue reactions of arrogant idiots attacking and making fun of the OP is hilarious. You guys are trained seals and you don’t even know it. SO conditioned to react the way you do.

Can we please put the Duke Williams nonsense to bed now? He had a chance to catch a perfectly placed jump ball in the end zone yesterday and failed.

He is a #4 WR at best.

Actually last night was more proof that pro Duke people were right. You guys just won’t admit you’re wrong and also act like Duke is a problem of some kind that held other player back.

Well, there you have it folks, it has become Main Stream obvious, Duke Williams should be active and used in our offense, this has been very obvious to many off us here and in the greater Bills world for quite some time now. Now maybe, just maybe those who have not seen the forest through the trees might just notice the shrubbery....

    Go Bills!!!

People usually respond when a perceived authority tells them what to think. So yeah, a lot of the lemmings here will likely change their minds now. More so when DW continues to produce and make big plays

Sure NFL, we believe you want competent officiating. Part time refs what a complete joke.

They do this bc it helps them steer outcomes under the guise of ‘poor officiating.’ And we take it as plausible bc we’re like, well he’s not even full time so I can see why he sucks at his job. The NFL: “Awe shucks what are gonna do, he had a tough week as an elementary school principal!”

This is is the truth and no it’s not a ‘conspiracy theory.’

    Last year's highlights...

Forgot about much of this including RayRay muffing the punt in the first quarter.

Wow! The fact that we were not only in this game but also should have won even w josh getting hurt is mind blowing. Between the refs w multiple game changing calls against us, bad bounces, about 5 sacks that Watson somehow escaped, Josh getting injured, wow.

If this team shows up to play Saturday we could blow them the F*** out. And I never really get a feeling like that. With this one I do.

I think the loss to the pats was in all 3 phases of the game. Not just on offense. If our rushing defense held, or some of the short passing game was prevented, or we didn't have so may long fields and given the Pat's* so many short ones, we would have won that game.

I also think that if the Bills have won the game things would have happened differently today. The Pat's* may have had more incentive with the Division and the Bye week in play still and may have had more focus after a loss to the Bills. Conversely the Bill's playing today with the division title on the line may have had serious injuries to various starters. It's a whole what if game that seems silly.

I'm happy where the Bill's are, in the play offs, about to play the Texans next week, which is probably their best match up. I'm also happy with the Pat's* losing and missing out on a Bye week as they need that for any hope of getting healthy and making a run for another super bowl.

I'll enjoy that instead of what if's and blame game for a Bill's team that outside of western New York was seen as an after thought this year.

I mean a first round bye is a lot of incentive
