I’ve traveled my entire life and travel for work. I enjoy the places I go and I lived in Massachusetts for 4 years. Many of my good friends are Boston sports fans and we get a long. I’ve never had a single solitary issue at a Red Sox/Celtics/Bruins game or any game at an opposing stadium in the country and I’ve been to over 60 different venues over the four major sports.

I spent the entire day tailgating with 40+ Patriots fans. There we absolutely zero issues, we had a great time. I’m conscious of the fact this was the 1% that ruined it... I know it happens everywhere in some capacity. I even stated that Buffalo has a bit of a reputation for stuff like this.

It’s not a coincidence that Patriots fans warned me about a toxic atmosphere not fans of other teams that had attended games at Gillette. I got separated from the 2 Pats fans I was sitting with at the game on my way out of the stadium and then I started having issues, that’s not a coincidence either. Of course someone who is a Boston sports fan isn’t going to have issues at Boston sports events.

Boston sports fans are some of the best in terms of passion - they love their teams . There’s also a reason folks from the Massachusetts/New England region are referred to as Massholes... they’re built differently than most and have a rough demeanor - which is fine. They embrace it... which is also fine.

Boston sports fans in the four major sports often rank within the top 5 most disliked fan bases in each of the four major sports. Part of it is due to their success, but that’s not the bulk of it. It’s the attitude and behavior and you are naive if you don’t think that’s the case. They have a reputation across the country of behaving this way, it’s the 1% that ruin it for everyone, but it’s not fake.

That's a good post. I'm native to SoCa. I've been living south of Boston for many years now (close to Gillette). I find Boston people a little harder to get close to but once you get to know them they make great friends. Second to none. In SoCo I can make 10 best friends in a day but they aren't worth a *****. I find Western NY to have solid people that I like but I'm the kind of guy that tries to make the best of every situation and if it's not good I just keep moving. People are pretty much the same everywhere for the most part. And almost all people are good. 1%ers are everywhere as well. Merry Christmas to you and you family.

  2. I find these threads hilarious. I've spent my whole life traveling and have enjoyed every place I've been. I've found people to be different regionally but almost all very accommodating and nice. Buffalo included. Any one that thinks a whole city, region or fanbase is despicable really needs to take a look at themselves. You're saying more about you than the people you are trying to insult.

30 year wait now due to the current team and staff.  Go a couple 5-11 seasons and that will all change.

While it definitely does not make things right I would imagine that most of the people there put 2 plus 2 together in that you were out of towners coming in what would be poor tourist weather a couple days ahead of a match up with the Bills.

Boston is filled with tourist year around. No one in Boston cares if your a Bills fan. I'm sorry everyone you met was nasty.

They were 5-11 the year before Brady took over and had 3 losing season in the 7 years prior. All sold out.  Football is a social gathering. A lot of the hardcore fans can't get in now so the crowds may even get better.

Yup! I totally made it all up.

I'm just sharing my experience. But you are definitely lying about the security and police. My friend and neighbor is head of security at the stadium. And as far as the Foxboro police and the State Police barrack in Foxboro right next to the stadium, both have a well earned reputation for no nonsense. So yes you made it up.

I was really using sarcasm to state how much of an a-hole he is vs giving a factual basis of his number of head injuries. Sorry. my sarcasm part of the brain is not fully functioning today and I didn't type that out well enough to make it clear.

Of course those 2 games are only reported concussions. I wouldn't be surprised if he and many other players have had unreported concussions.

Sorry I missed the sarcasm. I think he's a pretty good guy but not the sharpest tool in the shed. Concussions go with the territory. He's had 4 grade 1's that we know about, The SB one, the one that caused him to miss two games and two that he passed protocol and returned to the game.

  6. Fans are pretty much the same everywhere. I've never seen an opposing fan abused at Gillette and I've been to a lot of games. Friendly razing yes but also welcomed to join in food, drink and a day of fun. I'm not naïve to think it hasn't happened but it's pretty rare. And there is NO WAY that security and police turn a blind eye to any wrong doings on the grounds. That is total BS.  As for the fans? The Patriots were sold out for 6 consecutive seasons before BB and TB arrived. They'll still be there. There's a 30 year wait for season tickets.

I'm not sure what aspersions you're attempting to cast here.

What I will say is that it was handled properly. Obvious penalty was called, and the player was forced to go through the full protocol to be cleared.

Bush league? Yes. Anything more than a situation that arose and was properly addressed? No.

I would agree except for the bush league part. I thought it was heady :-) but very obvious.

It is true, I saw the post game interview this morning. as to why? Because he's an idiot that has had to many head injuries in the past and lacks the common sense to think of the potential consequences of his actions.

Edelman has missed two games in his career do to concussions. It was the same one that caused him to miss the two games. His head injury status is fairly clean.

No offense here: isn't there a disconnect between a guy faking an injury to get out of an obvious penalty and championing your team's toughness?

No offence taken. I'm referring to fans not players. This goes to knowing football. It was very obvious immediately what went down. If someone didn't know I would say they don't know much about football

I’ve noticed this condescending attitude with Pats fans. It is as if they feel that since the team they WATCH has won they somehow know more about football. I don’t understand why Mods let them post on here. What’s just as bad is we have a few posters here who are Pats fans in drag. Has a Pats fan ever started a thread on here? Are the allowed too?

I have to say reading this thread doesn't inspire a lot of confidence as to Bills fans knowing football. Also I thought you guys relished a reputation for toughness? I'm not seeing that either? Look at this thread...really?

  11. He was complimentary of the Bills. He hasn't throw a TD pass in Buffalo in his last 4-5 games I believe?  It's not his first or last bad game.. I do think he is possibly thinking about retirement for the 1st time though. His game hasn't slipped but mentally I think the grind is taking a toll. He has to be perfect in his play and speech or people come down hard.

For anyone that wants to spend a few minutes getting sick, read this:

You’d think the Bills were dominated after reading this.

That's not what I got out of it at all.

Apples and oranges, losers keep showing and talking about the clements hit, but it wasn’t  helmet to helmet and Brady wasn’t being held by another player. Good try though as usual you’re just wrong.

The hit was nothing more than a football play with zero intent to injure. Everybody outside of Buffalo and even half of Buffalo see it that way. It's a flag and nothing more.

    helmet.

You are clearly an idiot for posting that video.  Today we fully know the damage those hits are doing to people.  Those hits were perfectly legal in the game when it happened with Nate.  Purposely ignoring that fact shows you are a freaking idiot, or you are not being genuine.  Either way I don't care.  The whole Patriots organization is full of scumbags and they have the worst, most arrogant fans in the NFL.  Go lick AB's ballsack ya donkey.

You are wrong about the legality and also very immature

No offense, but you have  realize the difference between a hit like this in 2019 and a hit like this in the mid 00's.  You might as well post a clip from the 70's.

How about a helmet to helmet on Brady by Buffalo in 2015 or a cheap shot clean his clock after a play in 2014 ? Would those meet your approval? People said if "we ever did this to Brady" 3 times right off the bat. I sure there are more. So you"re saying Nates wasn't cheap because it was in the mid 2000's? interesting. In your opinion what year did cheap shots start?
