  1. Isn't Ellison leading, or at least at the top of the team in tackles this year? I also remember at least a couple of big short yardage stops that he was responsible for.

Ellison is by no means a star, but he has been at least serviceable this year.

Why would you trade him (when we are already thin as hell at LB) for Brady Quinn who can't remain a starting QB on one of the leagues worst teams?

    Ellison is brutal in coverage.

  2. I'm looking into getting some season tickets in the upper level. I want to be close to the aisle. Obviously seat 1 is on the aisle but I was wondering if anyone knows which seat number is closest to the aisle on the opposite side of the section? Thanks in advance for any help.

Seat 30 is on the other end of the aisle. I have two seasons tickets on the end of the row, seats 29 and 30.

  3. Yeah, he even went as far as to say that in 2-3 years, he thinks people will look back and call Ayers the best defensive player in the entire draft. I really like Mayock, so Ayers has become pretty intriguing.

But he's also concerned that Ayers might be just a one-year wonder. Mayock was pretty enamored with Tyson Jackson, DE from LSU. Any concerns with that guy?

  4. Yeah, I noticed that too. He said we basically were a product of our schedule. Last time I checked though, you can only beat the teams on your schedule. And didn't Denver play Oakland as well? Not sure who Tennessee played, but give me a break. Emmitt sucks as an analyst as well. The man can barely string together a coherent sentence. Not exactly analyst material, guess that's why he got demoted.

If you want a good laugh, search Emmitt Smith on YouTube. There are clips of his time on ESPN that are hilarious....they show his complete butchering of the English language.

  5. I liked the Bills '06 draft and don't agree with what most of the so called draft experts had to say. What I do agree with is teh miscalculation in the value of the picks that the Bills made in the first round. While I like the Whitner pick, I think they could have traded down and waited on McCargo. I know there was talk that Baltimore was interested in picking Whitner and the Giants had their sights on McCargo. What we don't know is how serious they were or if it was a smoke screen to distract us from other players they really wanted. The Bills certainly got good value where they picked Simpson and Youbouty, but I think they could have picked up an extra pick by trading down and still gotten Whitner.

  6. only a fool would think Nate is actually going to be in a Bills uniform next year

he will most likely sign with the Skins for a boat load of money

Don't be so sure of that...remember back in the Polian/Butler/Marv era, they stressed re-signing their own...to a detriment down the road when they had to let long time vets like Bruce, Andre, and Thurman go as cap casualties. At that point, those guys were beyond their prime. When Bruce was in his prime and signed an offer sheet with Denver, Wilson matched it. I'm not saying that Nate is in the same class as Bruce, but he's still an upper echelon corner in the league.

  7. TD's picks are a big part of the young core of this team (Losman, Evans, McGahee, Schoebel, Crowell, Peters, McGee). I don't think TD deserves a bashing as much for picking good players, his main problem was not picking the right coach and his heavy handed approach to the job. He does deserve some props for what seems like a good young group of guys that are coming into their own now.

The current regime's first draft doesn't look too shabby. Not the "boom or bust" type of players that TD favored, but so far they look pretty solid. I agree with you on TD's heavy handed approach. Seems completely opposite of Marv's consensus approach.

  8. Maybe 20 years ago it was cool to have a Buffalo guy calling the games.  But please is it too much to ask your play by play guy to follow the game?

Criqui max'd out his St. Joe's education about 20 years ago. Give him a break.

  9. since every week, a couple of morons find some new hotshot QB that the Bills need or should have drafted, or is obviously better than ours, heres this weeks...

The Bills should have gotten a QB like THIS ONE. I mean c'mon. The guy put up huge numbers, and led his team to the game winning score in the final minute. Why cant our QB ever do that?

It takes 11 on offense that can convert on third downs and a D that can stop the run and big plays to succeed. That's all. As the saying goes, the QB gets too much credit for the win and too much blame for the loss. See what a little help from the O-line and play calling that utilizes JP's strengths will do for this team.

  10. Yeah, but it was the 3-6 Texans, who haven't done much in their existence. With the way the defense played in the second and third quarters, along with JP's terrible pick-6, I thought it was going to be another give-away loss. Plenty to build from and a huge confidence boost for the offense and JP. The defense tightened at the right time. The D's inability to stop the run and the big plays on the pass is still a major problem and made this game closer.

  11. "cancer" is not fair, since Chris was a hard working blue collar team player.  I think Chris like Troy Vincent is a veteran that couldn't be just benched at the season's start, but that we are better off without him playing.

And for Kelso's Helmet, your current lineup has Pennington cut completely?  I definitely want to improve this line, but I don't think that means that Gandy, Preston, and Pennington need to ALL be replaced at once.  Two of them are young with potential, and all three are playing new positions.  We have six more weeks to see which of them is our biggest weakspot, and which of them is the most solid.  I'm going to wait and withhold judgement, but I would love if one steps up and proves he deserves to play, one makes us feel we could go either way, and we can concentrate resource into one (or two) spots and not all three.

Gandy is a turnstile. Preston is weak against the pass. Maybe more game experience will help. He has verstility with this center experience and that's a huge plus. Still too early on Pennington, but he looked pretty good this week in pass protection. Looks raw out there...seems like he was using his hands well. Still a good depth player.
