First, you have to be miserable to be a Jets fan, it’s a requirement for admission. Lol

Second I expect the Bills to blow the doors off of the Jets week 1. I see 4 INT with 1 returned for a pick 6.  The Bills shock the Jets and run all over them for almost 300 yards between cook, and Harris with Allen scrambling for like 40 yards.  Final score?

    Bills 27

    Jets 10

Rodgers hardly throws four interceptions in some whole seasons.  The Jets played the Bills even last year with Wilson and White starting for them.  Their D is for real.   I don't see a blowout for the Bills, but I'm a Jets fan so I would think that.

Darnold has played “fairly well” against Buffalo? In 3 career games, he averaged 5.4 YPA and has 3 TDs with 2 INTs. In those games, the Jets’ offense has produced 27, 8, and 13 points. And that includes a game against the backups in week 17 last year.

I mean, he hasn’t 💩 himself, but I would say he’s been mediocre at best.

2-1, if I remember correctly, with an impressive fourth quarter comeback in Buffalo in his rookie year.  And that was with an historically bad OL.  We'll see what happens.

  3. I think that many of you guys are overconfident.  Many of you think the real question is whether the Bills will run up the score or not.   I think you may be disappointed.  The Bills may have a deeper roster but Darnold has played fairly well against the Bills and Allen is still error prone.  So if Darnold makes less errors than Allen, the Jets have a good chance to win.  And that's what I'm hoping will happen.

Jets fans weren't too thrilled about Winters.

How does Winters REALLY grade out?

Don't know about grades but I can tell you that he was very well-regarded by his teammates for his toughness and playing through injuries.  Unfortunately, it has been several years since he hasn't been hindered by injuries.  He was flat out bad last year, but if he recovers from his injuries he is a starting level guard.

If you include the Browns years yes. But he did go 10-5 with Matt Cassell in 2008 and 4-0 without Brady when he was suspended for deflate gate.

Why wouldn't we?  Does that mean we shouldn't include Gase's time in Miami?

I would say that Adams and Bell are their 2 players better than our players at the same position. Although Adams is better than Hyde and Poyer, but the combination Hyde and Poyer are better than Adams and Maye duo. It is crazy, I would not take any of their other positions over ours. Also.... Allen>Darnold

With the Jets finally building a line I think it will become apparent this year that Darnold is the better player.  We shall see.

The Bills have the better roster because they have hit on more draft picks. McCagnan and Idzik had about a 10 percent hit rate.

There are no fans worse than Jets fans. I live near MetLife stadium now and go to the Bills at Jets game every season with the local Bills Backer groups.  We sat behind this little weasel that wouldn’t shut up while the jets had the lead. He got really upset and started with the homophobic and other offensive slurs once the tide turned and barely got out of the stadium without a beating.  His embarrassed friends held a few people back while he took off for the exits.

Not sure you should judge all Jets fans off of that dude.

To be honest, I'm not really taking anything away from Darnold, nothing at all. But I think he's in the worst spot when it comes to building around him. Bell was an obvious mistake, not sure why that happened. That's not a knock on Darnold, but between Bell and the Gase hire, it's hard to say he's the better QB right now simply because of his potential. I will say I was concerned when McCarthy was mentioned for a HC candidate there.

I can't argue about much of this.  I am torn about Gase because to fire him would give Darnold something like his fourth OC in four years.  But Gase has definitely not figured out how to emphasize Darnold's strengths and I am concerned about this slowing down his development.  Darnold is an improvisational guy.  He is best when rolling out and throwing on the run.  But Gase is cooaching him like he's a 36 year old Peyton Manning.

Do you think you have the best coach in the division, too? One who really knows what he's doing?

No.  That's the problem.  But Williams has been a very good DC for us so far.

He beat the 90 mil dead cap Bills by 4 points, and then barely scraped a one score victory against our 2nd and 3rd stringers, with essentially zero of our first stringers playing, and certainly nobody CARING. That doesn't really make me fear Sam Darnold haha and sheds some light on how disingenuous it is to say he's "undefeated in Buffalo"

Now, I do like Sam Darnold as a QB and a person. But the Jets are not scary right now. That could change, especially given your new GM seems to know what he's doing.

I was trying to be funny.  The Bills have a better and deeper roster.  But I wasn't kidding when I said I'd rather have Darnold.  Only time will tell.

Bills were -3 in turnovers that game, but if I remember correctly the Jets “fumbled” on a wide receiver lateral on the last play of the game deep in their own half of the field, so practically Buffalo played a -4 turnover game.

There were 12 games last year with a turnover differential of 4 or more, and the team in the negative lost all 12 of those games. Average margin of victory was over 19 points.

it funny Jets fans try to find the silver lining in that game, when the fact is they were unable to do what literally every other team (even Jacksonville!) that was spotted four turnovers was able to do: handily beat their opponent.

(and the Jets defense scored 8 points! Has a team ever lost with a +4 turnover margin and 8 defensive points scored???)

The Jets had one of the worst offensive lines in the history of the game.  They have worked on it over the off-season but we will see if it is enough.

It must really suck to be a jet fan......the pats are on their way down finally......the bills have made the playoffs 2 out of the last 3 years and are trending up....Miami seems to have gotten a clue and just drafted their qb finally

Then you have the jets.....who will probably be good for around 2 wins for everybody in the AFC East

I'm a happy Jets fan because I think we have the best QB in the division and we're under new management that actually knows what it is doing.  I think things are looking promising.

  11. By the way, this "home town discount" thing is a fiction and a huge pet peeve of mine.  He is being paid millions off the books (through his TB12 company) for years now.  The NFL knows this but does nothing about it because of the PR drubbing they took when they took on the golden boy on Deflategate.  I would be shocked if he is not getting what all the top guys are making, only this structure is allowing the Pats to cheat the salary cap.
