i hope Duke is the guy and I really like Sills, but McKenzie has actually made plays in the NFL. To think he’s not involved is crazy just because we have Roberts
I don't think it's crazy considering the gauntlet of WRs recently signed, I see where you're coming from though.
It's always nice to have guys on the rosters who have made plays the league before.
However, it's obvious that they aren't satisfied with what we had last year, and bringing back DiMarco and McKenzie would be treadmilling the back end of our skill positions.

I don't see any value in bringing DiMarco back, and with the Roberts signing McKenzie is expendable.
Positionally speaking though, Sills and Williams are bringing something similar to the table making it a legitimate training camp battle.
The FB and the Gadget WR have their own competition elsewhere on the roster. -
David Sills vs Duke Williams is gonna be one of the sickest training camp battles this year IMO.
I think Duke wins because of experience.-

Not only that, in the TL;DR blurb at the end of the article he says:
"The final spot in this projection comes down to a sixth running back (Perry) or receiver (McKenzie), a fifth defensive end (Harold) or a fifth safety, with Neal being the choice"
Obviously, that would be six running backs? insane.
Personally, I think we run with 7 WR's next season
The main 5 (Robert Foster, John Brown, Cole Beasley, Andre Roberts and Zay) and a Gadget Option + Big Target (McKenzie or Vic Bolden) and (David Sills or Duke Williams)-

#2 is processing speed, which actually leads into technique problems. He has to process "is the WR running the route where and when I expect and is he open or am I gift-wrapping a pick-6?" I think this was his major issue. He was taking that extra fraction of a second to make that assessment and by the time he did, his throw was late and the WR had moved on. The late throw also leads to technique problems as protection breaks down
#3 is timing with specific WR and yes more reps and a guy who runs more consistent routes will help a lot

Nsekhe is listed as a guard on PFF and his rating is waaay higher than every other guard we have.

It would be strange if they capped it at 3 backs, considering last year they had 5 backs and 4 of them were less talented than Gore, Yeldon + Singletary.

I dunno why everyone here seems to have Long as the consensus RG,
He's more of a backup C/LG and hasn't played on the right side.
He also has a much worse PFF than our other guards.
In my mind, it would only make sense that if Mr. Nsekhe was our RT before the draft and Cody Ford was able to move from RG to RT, yet we are keeping him at RT,
Mr. Nsekhe would look to be the obvious best available RG on our current roster and not Spencer Long. -

You're new and I'll try to recap what I see as the 3 main results of peoples opinions on Star from all the threads.
1. Star isn't worth the money and is no good at what he does.
2. Star's stats don't reflect what he is paid to do and he is doing his job.
3. Star is getting paid a little more (debated as to how much more) than he is producing.
I'm in the 3rd group. That being said I'm hoping his play improves with a more established defense and improved
play by Edmunds. I think and it's only speculation on my part that Star was asked to protect the young MLB by
"staying home" in the middle more than he has in the past.

I was in group 1 earlier while looking at his stats and after discussing the bills run defence I concluded that I overlooked the fact that Edmunds could have still been making some rookie mistakes impacting the Run-D despite having a stellar rookie campaign.

I would say I'm in your "group 3" as of now, yet we will continue to monitor this topic.
It still concerns me that most major NFL publications are harsh towards him,
and even though his stats don't reflect what he is asked to do (eat blocks) you would expect at least a sack or 2 from the big man and a few more TFL's.
As far as the speculation, it doesn't take a mathematician to take a peek at Star's stat sheet and see the numbers get smaller each season.
Yet after watching some film and acknowledging some other possibilities,
I will reserve further judgements until we see this group in action.

They also accomplished this without much help from ST’s nor the offense. Imagine the stats if the Bills were ahead in games and teams had to pass more frequently in the attempt to catch up.

With that being said, just another reason to get hype for the 2019/2020 season + our new acquisitions!!

That said, let us see how the run defense does with Oliver in there. Hopefully Star will do enough to satisfy us all (in terms of Wins).
That's probably also why we saw Beane and McDermott draft, sign, and invite so much youth in the LB department. Looks like Star is off the hook for now.
