2010 - That a guy who had one good season in D1 after 2 OK seasons in JUCO, a 7th round pick with terrible route running skills, who after 2 seasons in Buffalo where he dressed for 16 games (only 5 in his second year) and recorded a whopping 12 catches for a 112 yards should be named the starter over former 2nd round pick and cut that season James Hardy.
-
Wish him the best - he was a class act here.
Nice signing for them - he should be penciled in at starter in the slot.

He's been brought here to be a wide receiver. He's had 9 fumbles in less than 100 touches. Every one of them came as a returner. He's not going to be playing special teams unless it's an emergency.
Why would they bring in a guy who was a pro bowl and all pro returner to not play special teams but line him up at WR where he hasn't exactly set the world on fire?
-
Nathan Peterman is available - could get him on the cheap. He was great with Pittsburgh and has beaten out the likes of TJ Yates, Cardale Jones, AJ McCarron plus has started over Josh Allen and replaced Derek Carr, Trevor Siemian and Justin Fields.
Let's rock with Peterman!!!

Actually....HE IS! Imagine that 🙄Based on?
Over 4 seasons played in 40 out of 66 possible games, started only 4, caught all of 64 balls for 793 yards, 8.9 avg and a whole 4 TDs? That averages out to 10 games per season, 1 start, 1.6 catches and 19.8 per game and 1 TD a year?
McKenzie, who is 2" taller, over the same time frame played in 61 out of 66 possible games, started 25 of them, caught 119 balls for 1137 yards, 9.6 avg, 11 TDs.
He's a returner who plays some WR
-
He is not a WR - he's a returner on par with Keisean Nixon who reset the returner market by signing a 1 year deal for $6 million. The Face of the Franchise - Lil' Dirty isn't going anywhere!!!!

This has be an early April Fools joke.
Averaged 0.5 catches and 3.25 yards per game last year
Over 4 seasons played in 40 out of 66 possible games, started only 4, caught all of 64 balls for 793 yards, 8.9 avg and a whole 4 TDs? That averages out to 10 games per season, 1 start, 1.6 catches and 19.8 yards per games and a whole TD a year? Plus 15 carries for 123 yards and 0 TDs and 9 fumbles?
Sign a 5'6" unproductive player for 2 years $13.5 million max with $5 million guaranteed? An average of $6.75 per year? What a waste of resources!!!
McKenzie, who is 2" taller, over the same time frame played in 61 out of 66 possible games, started 25 of them, caught 119 balls for 1137 yards, 9.6 avg, 11 TDs. Running 36 times for 160 yards 2 TDs and 2 Fumbles. Not to mention he's in the 2nd year of a 2 year $4.4 million deal - that had only $1.25 million guaranteed. This year has a base of $1.75 million plus workout and roster bonuses worth $467,647
If this signing is real... WOW!! UGH!!!

I'm confused by this in that Yates is reporting it created roughly $32 million in cap space. Since that tweet the only Bills move was to resign Dodson to a 1 year deal.
The NFL network said just a couple of hours ago, when discussing their free agents and the holes they have, that the Bills have just over $7 million in cap space available.
Is it what Yates tweeted or what the NFL Network stated?
Anyone have any idea on why the wide difference between the two figures? Could it be that their restructures don't take effect until tomorrow?

When did he say he had 21 firsts? I must have missed that.
I may have misunderstood the number but still he did say Elam was the last player on their board with a 1st round grade. I would guess those two weren't give a 2st round grade. Maybe their were others.
-
In his press conference Beane said a lot of things you'd expect him to say and didn't say anything at all with his answers to some questions.
One thing he said that struck me was they had 21 players with 1st round grades and then added Elam was the last player they had on their board in that group.
Well the Bills traded up to 23 to take him so that would mean 2 players (and Breece Hall) taken before him weren't given a 1st round grade by the Bills.
Who do you think they were? My guesses at Pickett and Quay Walker

Give me CB Derion Kendrick from UGA - probably a 5th or 6th round selection. If not for some character issues that caused him to be dismissed from Clemson and a slow 40 time of 4.75 he would have been considered one of the top CBs in this draft.

Top CBs and WRs were gone so I traded out of 25 for the 30th and 3rd next year.
Then I traded the 30th and 94th for the 32nd and 66th with the Lions.
Once again not real happy with who was there and happy with the Jets offer of the 35th and a 2nd next year for the 32nd and 89th.
My draft ended up
35th Breece Hall RB Iowa State
57th Tariq Woolen CB UTSA
66th Christian Watson WR North Dakota State
130th Troy Anderson LB Montana State
168th Otito Ogbonnia DT UCLA
185th Max Mitchell OT Louisiana
203 Jalen Wydermyer TE Texas A&M
231 Derion Kendrick CB Georgia
Side note - if not for off the field issues and a slow 40 time IMO Kendrick would be considered a top 5 CB in this draft.

Going by the draft pick value chart that's what it would take.
The 1st this year is worth 720pts and the 3rd is worth 145pts. So 865pts.
The 1st next year if the make the AFC Championship game and lose is 640pts and the 5th would be 23 pts for a total of 663 pts.
Combine the 2 years and you get 1528 pts which worth 28pts more than the 1500 the 7th overall is worth.
If Sauce is a good as everyone thinks he is he can start right away. Play zone and help shut down players like Waddle, Hill, Parker and whoever else is added this offseason.

Bleacher Report listed their "dream signing" for each team and they apparently think a lot more of Harrison then the people on here who claim he played well in only 6 games during his tenure in Buffalo.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers: DL Harrison Phillips
John Amis/Associated Press
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers sit in an odd position of trying to win now while simultaneously going through a transition period.
The defensive front could be hit the hardest this offseason, as Ndamukong Suh, Jason Pierre-Paul, William Gholston and Steve McLendon are all free agents. The team already began to prepare for this moment by drafting Joe Tryon-Shoyinka in the first round last year and extending Vita Vea last season.
The group isn't complete, though.
Harrison Phillips improved each year he played with the Buffalo Bills, to the point where he became one of the league's better run defenders. He is a highly active defensive tackle who plays with excellent leverage and technique.Phillips may not bring the same qualities as Suh once did, thought the combination of him and Vea would form a brick wall along the interior, allowing linebackers Devin White and Lavonte David to run free.
I'd love for the Bills to find a way to keep him in Buffalo
BTW - Zimmerman? One splash play and now he's the new shiny object to some. He's not that good - he's depth at best - not a full time starter or even a regular rotational player.
Nick Bosa Trade Rumor (Unnamed AFC Team)
in The Stadium Wall
Posted
That's great in theory and all plus sentimental with the family thing but not happening.
Miami has $13.3 million in cap space.
The top 5 DEs:
Garrett $25 million
Crosby $23.5m
Henderickson $21m
Williams $21m
Miller $20m
If they were to pay him $10m so they still have a $3m cushion in case of emergencies he would be tied with Sam Hubbard and Foley Fatukasi for the 19th highest paid.
The only AFC teams that could realistically afford him are the Browns, Chiefs and Bengals.
The Chiefs could pair him with Karlaftis, their 1st round pick last year, who is entering year two of his rookie deal but then what do they do with this year's 1st round DE selection Anudike-Uzomah?
The Brownies have Garrett and his large price tag so adding Bosa would be dedicating a lot of the cap to one position. Plus they traded for Za'Darius Smith and signed him to a 4 year deal that has $10.5 million fully guaranteed this year.
As for the Bengals they have the aforementioned Hendrickson who they just signed to an extension that keeps him in Cinci through the 2025 season. On the other side that have Hubbard who is also inked though the 2025 season at an average of $10 million plus. Not to mention they still have Burrow's and Higgins' extensions to get done.
The next two teams in cap space are the Colts and Jets.
