Books make their money gambling against the public...not on vigs alone. They don't want 50/50 action, they want 75% action on one team ..they look at "squares" ( you and I) and say they will lose more than they win..and they take advantage of that. 

 

Another good example of that was the Pats-Atlanta Superbowl. i dont know what you guys were watching to think Peterman looked good in the preseason.   I saw half a dozen snaps against the browns and he'd almost turned it over twice.  No need to watch anymore.
