What are you talking about?

About the Bills? Year one they shed the dead weight in 3 players (Watkins, Darby, and Dareus) while adding draftpicks(along with adding KB, Matthews, and Gaines). Clearly not the gutting we saw this past offseason due to letting players walk along with the untimely losses of two key starters on the OL. They then kept the rest of the team intact in 2017 and rode the wave of the inspired defensive play, along with a timely Andy Dalton TD pass, into the playoffs. It was not the overhaul you see in a rebuild like you saw in 2018 after they evaluated what they had in 2017. 2017 was e v a l and 2018 began the rebuild.

The point is the Bills will dominate next year. You can expect a wining record just like the Rams did in Goff's second year. You need to lighten up and enjoy the process.

  2. Following Week 16, we currently are tied for the seventh pick with Tampa Bay in the 2019 NFL Draft at 5-10. The Jets draft third at 4-11. We would have drafted fifth had the Jets managed not to blow at 15 point lead to the Packers last week. I cannot believe their level of incompetence. It takes "talent" to blow a lead of that magnitude. Not even the Bills could do that. Ugh.

Here is the current draft order:

Comprehension fail. This offseason is when they went all in on the rebuild. Last year was shedding the dead weight to get draft picks and clear cap for 2019 by taking the hit this year.

Wrong! Shredding the dead weight = rebuild year 1.

And if you are not on the bandwagon, feel free to defect and support another team. Thing are looking great for the future, but all you do in your posts is p*ss and moan.

The only truly significant losses were two offensive lineman. Not quite sure why they regressed so much. You'd think with a better QB and a year in McDermott's defensive system, they'd improve enough in other areas to make up for those losses and even build on that modicum of success.

We replaced a veteran QB with a rookie, lost three offensive lineman, and our RB is a year older, in his 30's.

What sounds more pleasurable to you?  Trip back to Lucas Oil Field and get a little pay back for the embarrassment Luck put on the defense this season?  Or slide on down to Nissan Stadium to do battle with the “How do they even have close to a playoff team” Tennessee Titans?

much rather play Mariota over Luck anyday.

No, the Bills still could finish in 4th and the Jets 3rd, meaning we would play at Jacksonville next year.

I feel a little sad since I visit there every year & will never see a Raiders game in Oakland again.

Too bad they ran the team into the ground their last season there.

The worst part is nobody knows where they'll play next year.  It will either be a year in San Antonio or they'll play in the 40,000 seat Sam Boyd stadium in Las Vegas for a year.

They may play in Oakland next year. They said nothing was off the table. They may also play in the SF Giants park, SF 49ers stadium, Reno, or Las Vegas at the UNLV stadium.

Because Darnold plays defense?? Explain how he sucked today.

A good QB would have kept up with Green Bay. Allen wold have. Would you trade Allen for Darnold, straight up? I didn't think so.

How the ***** did you figure that after watching that game?

Darnolds been terrific for two week straight now.

He still sucks. He is a fumble machine and the Jets will pose no threat to the Bills in the future.

2 - Defensive Line - These guys get the brunt of my anger today.  They aren't rookies and they are very well paid.  This was the focus of the offseason and they have no excuse for the pathetic performance today.  If I told you that Brady was hurt/aging and couldn't pass the ball well, you all would piss yourself with excitement.  But what do we do?  We let them run all over us.  They blew us up down the middle, pushed through holes, and overall embarrassed us.  Murphy and Lawson were useless on the outside.  When they did blitz, they were able to get pressure sometimes, but that was their only positive contribution.

    Time for Kyle to retire.

    Here are moves I make:

    Dec 31st

Fire coaches Castillo & Crossman, Happy New Year

Yeah Happy New Year for everyone but those two. I'd at least wait until the 2nd.

  10. And the Sabres ranked 8 out of 123.

    Movement: Even

buf.png?w=110&h=110&transparent=trueThe fact that the Bills are this high despite making the playoffs last season shows just how miserable it has been in Buffalo. Before last season's wild-card loss to the Jaguars, the previous time the Bills had made the playoffs was 1999, and that was the longest drought in the NFL. What happened when the Bills made the playoffs in '99? A little trick play called the "Music City Miracle."

Buffalo has not won a playoff game since 1995, the fourth-longest such streak in the NFL. When the Bills did win playoff games in the early 1990s, they lost in the Super Bowl four consecutive years (including once on a last-second missed field goal) and saw a 30 for 30 piece crafted to account for that misery. And, oh yeah, they've had to watch the rival Patriots win constantly for nearly 20 years.

This ESPN index took all 123 pro sports franchises in the four major sports, and concluded which were the most miserable.

I am a little miffed. We are definitely no longer a miserable city since we had a dominant 2017 season and made the playoffs, almost beating the Jaguars, who alsmost beat the Patriots in the AFC Championship game. And there were many teams on the list who now have longer post-season droughts ranked below us. They also failed to give us credit for having Josh Allen, one of the top two or three players drafted this year, and who all agree will lead us to numerous playoff victories in the next 20 years.  And they failed to give us credit for a dominant 2004 season, where we finished just out of the playoffs at 9-7, but were ranked as one of the greatest teams of all time not to have made the playoffs after extensive statistical analyses.

They rip us apart for things that happened in the 90's, lol. ESPN is grasping for straws.

A friend and I had this conversation to which we really didn’t come to a conclusion.  So I decided to post a thread here.

Jimbo obviously was a more solid player year in and year out.  Mark was more of a one year wonder HOWEVER he did get that Super Bowl ring and MVP.

Interestingly enough both these guys had some equal bad luck after retirement.  They both lost sons way too early.  Jim battled cancer but Mark dealt with depression to the point he wanted to commit suicide.

    Anyway what do you think?

Which player has a bust in Canton? That is your answer.

I suspect the reason they kept him was for veteran leadership during the rebuild. I further suspect they believe (and I agree) that a veteran presence is needed on both sides of the ball.

Charles Clay could have provided that function for the offense. Besides, we need draft picks more than veteran leadership, which is hard to quantify.

  13. At 3-5, this is the first losing season on the road for the Patriots since 2009 and only the second in the BB/Brady era:

    2016 - 8-0 - Super Bowl Champions
    2007 - 8-0 - AFC Champions
    2017 - 7-1 - AFC Champions
    2006 - 7-1
    2011 - 6-2 - AFC Champions
    2004 - 6-2 - Super Bowl Champions
    2003 - 6-2 - Super Bowl Champions
    2014 - 5-3 - Super Bowl Champions
    2012 - 6-2
    2010 - 6-2
    2001 - 5-3  - Super Bowl Champions
    2015 - 5-3
    2005 - 5-3
    2013 - 4-4
    2002 - 4-4
    2018 - 3-5
    2009 - 2-6

Back in 2009, Russ Grimm and Brian Schottenheimer turned down the opportunity to interview for the Bills vacant head coach position.

In reference to Schottenheimer only, for the most part, the son or younger brother in sports sucks compared to the older one:

Marty Schottenheimer was better than Brian.

Peyton Manning is better than Eli.

Bum Phillips was better than Wade.

Wayne Gretzky was better than Keith.

Phil Niekro was better than Joe.

Joe Klecko was better than Dan.

Jim Kelly is better than Chad.

Lonzo Ball is better than LaMelo and LiAngelo.

Derek Carr being better than David, and Lane Kiffin being better than Monte are the rare exceptions. Also Stephen Curry being better than Dell Curry.
