Two or three should be available.  The composition of the draft and their draft position should allow them to replace whatever they have to give up.

  2. I don't think Kareem Hunt will ever play another down in the NFL.  The video will live forever, and people will be told what to see by whoever is showing it to them.  When a victims advocacy group or a women's rights group is showing the video, people will see a man kicking a woman who is already down.  By the way, Danny's definition of kick is "to strike, thrust, or hit with ones foot."  There is no team in the NFL that will be willing to take the public backlash, lost season ticket holders, lost luxury box revenue, and lost sponsorship/advertising revenue associated with signing Hunt.  The actual cost of signing him might exceed $100 million.

Kim Pegula is not the reason that the Bills won't pursue Hunt.  I think less than 5% of GMs will even bring the idea before ownership (just those that are extremely secure, and those that are extremely desperate) and Beane is not one of them.  Ownership of any team will likely think less of any GM that does want to pursue Hunt, because it indicates that the GM just doesn't get the business side of the organization.

I think coaches can get away with expressing interest.  Their job is to win, and they see a player that might help them accomplish that.  I will be surprised if we hear any discussion above that though.

He will probably be the highest paid center when he signs his new contract.  He’s a top tier at his position.

I've seen him ranked between 10th and 13th in the league by various sites, but he'll be coming off a broken leg.  I'm guessing he'll get something in the 8 to 11 million/year range, but I would be mildly surprised if it was over 10 million/year.  The salary info below (for centers) is from overthecap.com.

  4. As the title says, here's a list of guys on practice squads that I thought were interesting relative to the perceived needs of the Bills.  There's nothing great, but its interesting to consider some of them.

Nico Siragusa (OG - Ravens, 24 years old) - Former 4th rd pick from SDSU.  Played in a run first offense with Rashaad Penny and Donnel Pumphrey.

J.C. Hassenauer (OC - Falcons, 24 years old) - Undrafted FA from Alabama.

Cyrus Jones (CB - Ravens, 24 years old) - Former 2nd rd pick from Alabama.

Dejon Allen (OT - Bears, 24 years old) - UDFA from Hawaii.

Tanner Gentry (WR - Bears, 24 years old) - UDFA from Wyoming. Primary receiver for Josh Allen in 2016.

James Stone (OC - Bears, 26 years old) - UDFA from Tennessee.

Christian Hackenberg (QB - Bengals, 23 years old) - Former 2nd rd pick from Penn State.

Brad Lundblade (OC - Bengals, 23 years old) - UDFA from Oklahoma State.

Kyle Kalis (OG - Browns, 24 years old) - UDFA from Michigan.

Jake Campos (OT - Cowboys, 23 years old) - UDFA from Iowa State.

Treston Decoud (CB/S - Cowboys, 25 years old) - Former 5th round pick from Oregon State.

Cody Wichmann (OG - Cowboys, 26 years old) - Former 6th rd pick from Fresno St. 18 career starts.

Carlos Henderson (WR - Broncos, 23 years old) - Former 3rd rd pick from LaTech.

Roderick Johnson (OG - Texans, 23 years old) - Former 5th rd pick.

D.J. White (CB - Colts, 25 years old) - Former 6th rd pick from GaTech.

Jamil Douglas (OG - Colts, 25 years old) - Former 4th rd pick from Arizona St.

Leonte Carroo  (WR - Dolphins, 24 years old) - Former 3rd rd pick from Rutgers.

Isaac Asiata (OG - Dolphins, 25 years old) - Former 5th rd pick from Utah.

James Ferentz (OC - Patriots, 29 years old) - From Iowa.  They're likely keeping him around for a reason.

Let's keep in mind a couple obvious things that even amplify the chart.  Wyoming had a very poor OL and sub par receivers last year.  Pretty hard to complete passes when you're running to escape the rush, and hard to see receivers with separation.  Especially in the confined area near the End Zone.  Doing it the way he did was truly noteworthy.

I'm not sure that Wyoming's OLine helps this chart very much.  In fact, the effect of the OLine might matter less in these stats.  Since it limits the analysis to teams that you can get into the red zone against, being overmatched by an Iowa, Oregon, or Nebraska defense should be mostly removed.

On the bright side, folks wanted to see evidence that he dominated lower level competition, and I think this stat provides some evidence of that.

Also he is a run threat inside the redzone. It's one of the main reasons he reminded me of Cam Newton.

I had been thinking that the graphic was presenting passing stats, but your comment makes me think that running plays might be also be included.

If so, the stat includes at least a rough measure of his combined passing and mobility, which seems tough to quantify.

    Pinky:  What's up guys?

BM:  Dude, you're too small to be a lineman, too slow to be a receiver, and too fat for me to cast you in my next Favre-stalking-photo.

SD:  I dropped my keys, but if I focus hard enough on this guy maybe no one will notice.

JA:  Dude, I'm your BFF as long you don't say "twitter."

JR:  You poor, pathetic, pudgy, loser.

LJ:  Say "what" again m***** f*****.
