Diggs was a great player but was coming close to becoming a cap nightmare and had been slowly getting more troublesome with off the field drama

His happy go lucky response to his drop against KC this year versus he demonstrative anger he at Allen for missing him last year against Cinci always rubbed me the wrong way seeing as Allen just moved on to the next play both times.

Isn't 31 mil in dead cap a cap nightmare ?

Definitely screams QB, but seems like at least one more move is needed, to assure they have a shot at one of the top guys. The question to me is, are any of the teams at the top, willing to pass on a QB and move down?

I'm shocked - Sam Darnold is not going to reincarnate himself as Baker Mayfield and lead the Vikings to glory ?

I think a team like the Browns could use him 😂

Justin Fields is going to be the QB all these teams without a high pick want imo.

Could be an option for the Raiders, Giants or Falcons

I won't be surprised to see the Bears keep Fields and draft MH2

Part of the reason why, is that it's contagious.  The more mass shootings that happen and the more they're publicized, makes it more likely to put the idea in the head of the next maniac.    If  there was no incidence or news of mass shootings in the USA for the next 10 years, the chances of one happening in year 11 would be a lot less than it happening next week, while news is fresh.  Ex.  Columbine helped lead to many more school shootings.

Also firearm technology has improved over the years, which is a factor in making the incidents more deadly

It's likely a combination of factors including mental illness, availability of firearms, social media, feelings of persecution or wanting to belong, revenge, no perception of the consequences, lack of respect for the sanctity of human life, politicization, etc. No easy solution.

A sneaky move for NE in the draft is take MHJ 3 and take whoever is left of Nix, Daniels, Penix at 35, or even move back into the late first a la Ravens with LJ.

Maye over Caleb is quite a take and I respect it. I hate Nix though. Has bust written all over him, imo. Reminds me a lot of Jake Locker. Maybe I’m biased from the early years of his 19 year college career but I see nothing special out of him. He’s not going to be a spectacular athlete at the next level and his arm talent is nothing special.

I wouldn't be surprised to see the Bears take MHJ at #1 and keep Fields or trade down a spot with Washington with the agreement they would take Caleb at #1.

  6. You can't fix crazy - just saw some old guy backed into a lady in a Wal-mart parking lot, got out to apologize, and the lady shot him in the face. Now facing murder charges. Deeper background checks and assault weapon bans may help but if the bad guys can't buy guns legally, they'll get them on the black market. Guns have been around for centuries but mass shootings have been on the rise for awhile. Why ?

Whoopty doo about Tre White. He's the same guy who got sliced and diced in his big chance in the 2021 AFC Championship game. And honestly, all that matters is what you get done. And he hasn't done DICK for the Buffalo Bills since the 2021 season. So once again, I'm sure he's a wonderful guy, and I'm sure he's working oh-so-hard to come back "better than ever" from his latest injury. But the facts are we traded the spot for the greatest football player of our generation to get a very good cornerback whose career basically lasted from 2017 through 2021. La-dee-*****in'-dah.

It's weird though. Once Reid got an all-world QB he started to win titles.

Once McDipshit got an all-world QB he started to win division titles and having beautiful teary exchanges with Sal Cappaccio when he wins one of them in Miami. You woulda thought the guy won the Super Bowl the way he was babbling to homer Sal. What a joke.

We need to demand more from these jokers.

Could be worse than McD not vetting QBs in time for the 2017 draft with Whaley and as a result not taking Mahomes. Josh could have easily been taken by Elway and we would have been stuck with the other Josh.

    I don't know.

Football is a quintessential team sport, unlike baseball or basketball. The QBs success is heavily dependent on his OL and skill players and the D, scheme, coaching and execution by other players.

This is why Dan Marino, one of the purest passing QBs I ever saw. He had Mark Clayton and Mark Duper, two first class WRs to throw to.  He reached the Super Bowl in his second year only to lose to the 49ers. He never returned to the Super Bowl.  Think about that: Dan Marino has zero Super Bowl rings.

And Marino is only one example. Some others: Jim Kelly, Warren Moon, Dan Fouts, Daryl Lamonica.

Exactly and why I think Mahomes as a Bill would also have zero rings. The Chiefs simply have a better coach, DC and marginally better players where it counts. Mahomes is a generational talent but so is Josh.

I am heartened by the fact John Elway was on his way to zero SB rings until he hit 37 so I firmly believe Josh will get his.

I agree with this. Mahomes is a better QB than Josh. Both can scramble and buy time. Both have cannons for arms.

But Mahomes is a more accurate passer even when he throws off balance.  He also seems to have a better view of the field. If there's an open man Mahomes will find him. Josh occasionally fails to see open receivers.

Some of this may be due to the fact that Mahomes had the benefit of top coaches at Texas Tech and KC while Josh's coaching at Wyoming was not at that level.

I write this as a Josh homer. I like him and am glad he's out QB.

    Thoughts?

So if we had drafted Mahomes in 2017, would we have a title by now ?

Just read where he has been arrested 6 times for DWI, 6!!!!  3 where I live is a felony, mandatory jail for a good amount of time and loss of license.  Wow, just when I thought I couldn't like the Mahomes family any less, here we are!  I think they have surpassed my Tom Brady hate, something I thought I would never say!  BTW hate is a strong term, "dislike" may be more appropriate

Couple of open container citations as well ... wonder how Brittany feels about grandpa being around her kids ?
