Fair to criticize that moment. Who among us hasn’t? The distinction between my point and yours (to me) is the mistakes made at the end of that game (against one of the best offenses and QBs in the league no less) are not a reflection of their overall ability to coach up the DBs. They wouldn’t have been in that game if they couldn’t get the best out of the rest of the guys on the roster at the position after Tre went down. They were 13 seconds away from making the AFCCG with a 4th round, 7th round, and UDFA at corner. On the #1 ranked defense. No question they made mistakes to end that game, but overall pretty remarkable what they were able to do to coach those guys up and not go in the tank when Tre went down.

I can definitely get behind this. 😎👏🏾👍🏾

Expected, but disappointing. Young cats will have to step up. If it’s one thing I don’t worry about with this team, it’s McD, Frazier, and Butler’s ability to coach up the DBs. I’d rather have Tre for the stretch run than game 1 (even with the tough start to the season).

The same coaching staff that put us in Prevent Defense with 13 seconds left giving Cheetah & Zeus 20 yards to play with… I’m not losing confidence in this staff but I don’t have complete faith in them to not worry.

Wow! I figured the Bills would draft a CB but surprised they traded up for one. Dallas wasn’t taking a CB but maybe Beane got word of another team trading up.

Not just that The cowboys were the team that screwed us last year…they took Diggs right from under us…Beane wasn’t letting that happen to us again. He showed the world that Elam was high in his board tonight

It doesn’t matter how but before the season begins I would really like to see the Bills acquire a tough guy, an enforcer of some sort on defense. Jerry Hughes was almost that guy a couple of years back but he mellowed out a bit in the last couple of years. He committed too many costly penalties before and now he isn’t even on the team as of right now.

Not to pound a tired drum but the position that would be the best to have a tough guy at would be the MLB. As we all have realized for quite some time is Edmunds is not that guy. Even if it isn’t at that position I would still like to see that type of player somewheres on the defense. Our most physical players on the team right now imo is our Tackles. Dawkins and Brown will take care of Josh but we don’t have a very physical defense and I think that could be the missing aspect for this team to get to the next level. Last night I was thinking of Jack Lambert against the Cowboys when one of their guys were messing with the Steelers’ PK and Lambert just slammed the guy to the ground. THAT’S the kind of mentality that I would like for the Bills’ to possess. I wonder if there’s that kind of player in the draft that we could get.

Seriously? Did you not see the Von Miller signing??? 😄

Again confused, because it's not like we need to come up with "new money" to sign Poyer, actually extending him would likely create more cap room in 2022.

I think Beanes comment was about signing any new FAs, at least as of now.  They have decent wiggle room available, if they want to extend or convert a couple players salaries to bonus $s.  Beane is very methodical/calculated with his approach, so I trust he will budget accordingly.

I agree…I just think he would let Poyer deal play out…no need in shuffling the cap around if you don’t have to. The bottom line, Poyer is under contract this year…I think he’ll get him locked up before he hits free agency next year…

we’re pretty much saying the same thing…only difference your saying Beane can move things around to get it done this year. Whereas I think Beane will wait until next year where he doesn’t have to move things around.

Agree with 1st part, but you lost me on the extension/needing 1 yr deals to expire.  If we extend him, it would likely open more cap space this season...allowing us to potentially target a vet corner and/or draft class money.

Unless I'm misreading your post, it makes sense to extend now if we plan to anyways.

What I meant was Beane said we have no more money….so yes if we had it…then signing him will cheapin his contract but I think it’s better to wait the year because guy’s like Shaq Lawson, Crowder, OJ Howard, Ect…will free up some cash once they’re contracts run it’s course in a year. Also, we have enough for our draft picks and to fill the rest of the roster out for camp. But I don’t think there’s enough money to get some sort of long term deal done…at least that what I got from Beane interview

That's not really the same situation. We've invested heavily on the line the last few years and then bringing in V.Miller. There's simply not room for Jerry. We don't have nearly as much depth at Safety, and Poyer's play hasn't fallen off like Jerry. Loved Jerry here all these years, but he hasn't been scooped up yet for a reason.

Exactly! Poyer play hasn’t dropped off & I think he has another 4 more years in him to play at a high level.

  7. I see another extension coming for him, Poyer & Hyde are McDermott’s people! Like those 2 helped build that entire defensive vision for him, no way he let’s that go right now! He rode Kyle Williams until Kyle was ready to go, I think Poyer & Hyde as well will get that same respect type of treatment. I just think right now, they can’t give him an extension, gotta let some of these 1 year deals falls off after this year & get some of that money rolling back into the cap.

Gilmore would be a fantastic signing for right deal.  That would be great if we could sign CB 2 pre draft, fill all our holes.  And then go BPA all day!

It’s so interesting…because this thread is almost 50/50 …there’s some like yourself that would love the signing of it happen for the right price.
Other’s like myself, feel even at the right price he’s not worth bringing back. I just feel like if he came back, he’s a little salty the way he left & nobody wouldn’t really embrace him again. He will kill the mindset we have in that locker room… now if we can somehow trade for Bradberry from the Giants. I would love that even more!

Still a very good if declining talent with absolutely zero leadership or teammate skills. He's proven he's all about $ and talked trash about Buffalo on his way out. Yes, he played when we were a clownshow, but the shots were unwarranted. I'd 100% rather give up a mid-round pick to the Giants for Bradberry.

I would LOVE to have Bradberry here!!! 😎👍🏾

The only way he’s coming to Buffalo is if Bean gives him more $$$$ then any other team

that’s it , it’s all about money for him

I don’t think his demand is that high…price probably went down because nobody was interested. Now his price has lowered which is why we’re hearing teams may have some interest in him. He’s going to get a 1 yr $8M dollar deal ….something like that…just don’t see him getting a huge pay day honestly

I'm sure they'd love to get him.

I have drastic doubt they can afford him. Totally makes sense to kick the tires, though.

Thurm! My guy 😎 … I can see why they would be interested in him but as most people have said in this thread…Gilmore is a me guy for sure! I just don’t think he’s the type of player that goes with our culture. I don’t think he’ll truly buy in

The article shows zero evidence this has happened, it outright says "nothing in the works" and then says the Bills could be in on him because he was here before.

Understandable….just wanted some thoughts if it were to happen? How would you feel about him returning after the way he left?

  13. Hello all…haven’t posted in while. But this just popped up on my phone & I’m curious on what the fans think about Gilmore coming back here???

Me personally, I wouldn’t really like it being how he left us…I feel like he don’t deserve to be part of our special team hahahaha

like don’t come back now after we became great.

    Under reacting if anything

Definitely a lot of under reacting if anything…I’m still not over it & have no plans on watching the super bowl…after that loss…I needed a break from football!!! I’m catching up on some tv shows & playing some Spider-Man Miles Morales to take my mind off that 13 seconds 😄

Really was no need for it as there was plenty of time and every other kick Cincy made was through the endzone.

Know this was brought up on Sunday (and then merged with other gameday topics), but just was listening to the Bill Simmons podcast and that is how he referred to the squib kick as.....  A FU to Buffalo.

BTW it took up 5 seconds and returned to the 19 yards line.

    Yep not over it......😜

I’ll go a step further…I felt when Burrow called “HEADS” that was a huge shot to Josh Allen… he said it with so much conviction….Like Josh should have called heads. It was like the Bengals tried to do the opposite of whatever the Bills did a week prior 🤔🤔

It was the 8 man coverage imo like the previous poster mentioned…they spied mahomes too and kept him scrambling straight backwards.  Mahomes had absolutely all day to throw most plays but he seemed rattled by that unexpected look

I definitely agree! That was the amazing part, they gave him all day to throw…but when you rush 3 & drop 8 in coverage… the thing is….you gotta hard that coverage & the 3 rushing…can’t give up, they have to provide pressure. Belichick did something similar with Manning in the playoffs one year. Again, wished we thought of it.

  17. 3 hours ago, PetermansRedemption said:

8 man coverage. Mahomes was something like 5 for 17 with 57 yards and an INT against that coverage. The Bengals adjusted at halftime, something Frazier is seemingly allergic to.

Yea they rushed 3 & dropped everyone back in coverage so Mahomes could pick them apart & even if he had 7 seconds in the pocket, nobody was open, eventually that O-line is going to breakdown. Wished we would that did that instead of playing prevent D

I've had enough of Frazier I think.

The problem is he ain't gonna be hired anywhere, and we aren't going to fire him.

Yea after last week, his name got scratch off the lists.  We’re definitely stuck with him but it’s McDermott too…Remember this is his defense. I think Frazier just call the plays but Him & McDermott gameplan together.

I feel your pain my guy… the fact that people came into this thread to complain that you wanted to still express your frustration is beyond me?!?! This should be the place to do this! That was such a tough loss…who in their right mind is over it???
it’s going to sting….it’s going to burn! Hell I’m still not over it…I’m not even watching football today!
I think people just want to be “That person” to show that their over it…if you are good for you…go find another thread then. But if another Bills fan wants to express his emotions…then he should be able to & we as fans should be there to support…not tear him or her down because it still pains them!
