  1. Starting to hit home that as a 50 year STH when my time comes to choose I will have to consider that I will be 71 for the home opener in 2026.

My PSL fee will be for a shorter time than those of you in your 30's or 40's or even your 50's. Doesn't seem fair I get the same price as younger.

I know the resale option and the passing on to my kids but those options may not be viable. So for my 50 years of fandom and probably $20,000 The Bills will be able to resell my PSL when I get too old make the 300 mile round trip or just die.

Perhaps if the Bills finally win a SB before that happens maybe it will all have been worth it.

  2. Well Shaw, like you I have changed. Don't go back to 1960 but started at age 7 in 1963. Only game on TV, NBC and the old AFL. Kemp, McDole, Stratton. Golden Wheels and the like. When I was 11 I delivered The Bradford Era newspaper and they had a promotion, If I got 3 new subscribers to the daily paper I would win a trip to a Bills game at the Rockpile  They provided a bus, chaperones and a meal. I bought the 3 subscriptions myself, I wasn't missing the trip. I was hooked. When I turned 17, I got my 1st full time job and bought season tickets and have been there ever since only missing 3 games in that span. Lucky enough to have been to 3 of the 4 Super Bowls.

Like you I lived and died with every win and loss. In the last few years I am enjoying the games, the losses still sting but I get over it quicker. My kids and some of my grandkids not so much. Living in the middle of Steelers country it is not easy suffering with the wide right comments or the "we got six."

Told my kids on the ride home Sunday night that when I was younger a loss like that was like a friend dying, a younger friend, Now after all these years and all these type of losses it still feels like a friend died but I expect old friends to die, we won't live forever, so enjoy the ride and mount up for the next chapter.

Finally on the season tickets, there were years when the Bills really struggled to win games and they were done by Halloween, I remember telling my wife, more than once at the end of the season "that's it I'm done, I can't do this anymore, They're killin me, they're kilin me. The invoice for the next year would come around April and I was like a cocaine addict, I pretend to sniff the invoice and say," just one more time." 50 years and hundreds of thousands of dollars and thousands of traveling miles I'm still waiting. I will move to the new stadium but I am running out of time

in another post we can discuss how the games, the fans and the whole experience has changed over the years. In my opinion not so much for the better. You do a great job. Thanks for posting.

  3. Been around here a long time, 60 years and a 48 yr season ticket holder.

Just want the younger fans, like my kids and grandkids, who have not seen the best of times to enjoy the moments like today.

I remember the 1st championship game over 30 years ago, the Bills won, I cried, big fat snowflake tears. Those happiness tears were only matched by the the birth of my kids.

People that aren't real fans of a team just don't get it. Mafia gets it.

I will be leaving for the long drive to the Stadium soon, I will do all I can to try and be calm, cool and collected but I am already amped, I can tell by my pacemaker.

May all of us, young, old, former players, current players and anybody else who has had enough of Tay, Trav, Pat, Btit and the Chiefs come together today.

They're killin me Whitey, They're killin me!

    GO BILLS!

  4. Still hoping for the Ravens to lose just because they let the Steelers in by not playing any starters.

Of course Aikman just gave the yearly excuse as to why Ravens are a little sluggish. Had week off, maybe a little rusty, slow start. Of course 2 weeks ago it was they deserve the rest, get fresh legs, MVP doesn't need the reps, he'll be ready.

Year after year at playoff time it's the same stuff.

I want the AFC Championship game in Buffalo. I want al of you younger fans to experience what it was like in the 90's You think its crazy now, just wait. PLEASE let it happen!

Going back to the old AFL days at the Rockpile, one of my 1st games.

BUCK BUCHANON, OTIS TAYLOR, JAN STENERUD, WILLIE LANIER, QB LEN DAWSON AND COACH HANK STRAM.

A few that jump out at me.

Interesting to note that Marty Schottenheimer was on that 1968 Bills team.

He then coached the Chiefs for 10 years in the 90's.

He had left the Browns who just couldn't get over the hump.(2-4 in playoffs) I was never worried when his teams played the Bills in a playoff game as I had long before called him Marty Choke-en-himer. He was 3-7 in playoffs with the Chiefs.

Years have passed, I am older and I have more respect for him. Actually, him as a coach is a lot like being a Bills fan, just can't get to the Promise land. I still have a chance his is gone.

Nobody serious said that Allen is a turnover 'machine'. I think Bills fans add that word to get themselves more upset.

Allen having turnover issues is a valid criticism.

Also, many pundits are picking the Bills to win this weekend also to get to the Super Bowl.

Stop looking for reasons to get mad, enjoy the 6 game win streak and huge home playoff game against a great rival.  Doesn't get much better than this.

Yes actually that has been said. I'm too old to know how to find the quote or the clip. If you are of a younger and more computer savvy check out the morning show on ESPN with "Evan, Canty and Michelle" from last Friday. They were laughing and giggling  and hoping the Bills would lose and the turn over machine Josh Allen would be to blame.

Evan, the Patriots fan was/is the worst.

Trust me, as 48 year season ticket holder nobody and I mean nobody is enjoying this win streak more than me. I've been around for the good the bad and the ugly. Back in the early days we didn't have social media, 24 hour sport talk with so many idiot talking heads just trying to get a click or a rise from fans. It is so successful because it works. As I said I try to ignore it but it is hard to get away from it. I will defend our Bills when these type of accusations Pi** me off. I try not to be like them, I'm not adding that word, I heard it with my own 68 year old ears.

Can I get AMEN… finally someone with the real numbers, and these are the real numbers. The fact is that Allen is indeed the best quarterback in the league, warts and all, the numbers just don’t lie. While every other team/pundit whines about why their quarterback can’t do it, Allen just does it. He has never had the quality supporting cast like others, yet every year here he is in the playoffs. He just does more with a lot less, without the whining and sideline meltdowns. Meanwhile, anytime there is a lull in the great Patrick Mahomes play, it is followed by excuses for that lull….his receivers, his coaches, he is just off today, he is injured, he is without Kelce….it’s just nonstop. And it is very eerily similar for Lamar Jackson. Allen is not a turnover machine, he is a winning machine that pundits/commentators/fans refuse to recognize because of their draft day narrative. Just about every other elite quarterback is given the benefit of media excuses, yet are still mentioned as one of the greats, Mahomes, Jackson, Love, Stroud, Herbert, Stafford…and whomever else their is. These guys are all mentioned in the same breath and if they have an off game or season, they are given an excuse. The media is the hardest on Josh, but he has the best stats of all of them. I mentioned it in another thread, but there is a breakdown on YouTube for their year MVP between Allen and Lamar Jackson. The stats that are used, which is everything, put Allen far and away the MVP over Jackson.

Thank you Sir. I wish I could have made my point as well as that. You DA Man!

I'm kinda on the injured list this week.  Still trying to get my voice back from Monday. Hoping to be at !00% by Sunday night.

Solve for #87 - he cannot take this game over

Please do not let this guy be open every time the Chiefs need a big play. His routes seem so simple and obvious I wonder how he always seems to be open.

  8. I try so hard not to listen or care what outsiders say about the Bills but this week has been hard for me to ignore the idiots and excuse makers as to why the Bills were able to beat the Steelers.

One narrative is, the Bills were supposed to beat Pitts because they had injuries to their best player. Correct me if I'm wrong but the Bills also are dealing with injuries. The Steelers would not have even been in the playoffs if they hadn't squeaked out a win against the 3rd stringers that the Ravens fielded the week before.

Mike Tomlin is a great coach. Is he really, So what if wins during the regular season, he's a loser in the post season of late. He so smart he made the decision to go with Mason Rudolph! well if he's so smart why did it take him 14 games on inept offense with Trubisky and Pickett before making the change to  the guy who had been on the team for the last 5 years or so.

Pitts got a break because they cancelled the game because of the pitts run game not being as good as the Bills. AHHH not so much.

They say, Josh Allen is a turn over machine he will cost the Bills.  He definitely has his share of picks but the dude is a player. I ain't getting rid of him for any other QB in the league.

I don't know if the Bills are going to the Super Bowl let alone win it but I know at 6-6 they were written off as underachievers. I thought it was close to over at 6-6 and I am the most optimistic Bills fan to ever live, they proved me wrong, shame on me.

See you all on Sunday, rain, snow, cold, wind Tay or no Tay. I so want this game, please be loud and proud!

  9. Must be a real pain to clean the snow out of a stadium that is all packed down after Mondays game

Adding to that is the fact that the snow is now littered with thousands of beer cans, pizza boxes, cups and whatever else is strewn around.

good luck to those that have and will volunteer to clean it up the best they can.

Finally, I thought the roads, parking lots and walk ways around the stadium were in great shape considering the the weather the 2 days before the game. I congratulate the Bills and anyone else who contributed to that almost impossible task of getting the game played.

My only complaint, the beer window and concession behind Section 135 was closed. Seems there were frozen pipes or something weather related. Didn't stop us from finding those victory beers.

    Go Bills!

  10. All day, all week in fact the experts on all the NFL talk shows keep talking about the football being so hard when the game is played in frigid temps. You know, its like catching a stone, kicking a cinder block too slick to handle. Tired of it,

So I ask, during rain games a ball boy has the job to keep drying and  rotating dry balls into the game for better handling. In fact the referees sometimes holds a towel over the ball until the offense breaks the huddle. In the year 2024 why not have the same ball boys rotate balls kept in a warming device so at least this part of the game isn't affected. They do bring in special balls for kicking, why keep them out in the cold.

Jeez, even my pizza delivery guy has such a heater. Guess the NFL, the players and the talking heads would rather talk about it than fix it.

Cold balls, warm balls, ice balls whatever, please Bills bring the big Ba**s and kick the squealers in their soft Ba**s.

You know, I am going to sound like a sore loser, but this is almost making me not want to watch the game. It's going to complete neuter both sides, but I can already sense a Najee Harris 60 yard run for a TD and that might be all it takes. Cook has been so on and off, and I worry about him fumbling, and I worry about Josh getting desperate and going into hero ball mode. Field goals are out of the question. This sucks. I know we have no control over it, and for that reason I should not let it bother me, but I could see The Steelers sneaking out a victory because it's equalizing both teams, and somehow I feel it will work to their advantage.

This is what keeps me up at night. There is no doubt the Bills should roll this team but the weather will have an impact on the passing game.  One run, one fumble, one punt drop is all it would take to lose this game.

All that said,( like a true Bills fan) it could also work to our favor and they will make the mistake....

    Go BILLS!

  12. Going back to the 2021 pick by Taron Johnson. Covid game' smaller crowd but so loud Collinsworth commented how loud 7500 people were.

I was at the game with my family, as the Ravens were driving I was as nervous as I had ever been at a game, When Johnson made the pick, like you, I thought he would take a knee. I was so excited I layed out in the aisle screaming and thanking God himself. As I jumped up and grabbed my daughter she was yelling, Dad, HE"S RUNNING. I looked toward the field just in time to see him cross the goal line.  It was one crazy party .

Fast forward to last night, watching at home, sweating it out, my wife and 3 daughters in a 3 way text and me screaming at the TV and Harty gets the punt, I want him to just make the catch, he's running, he's still running, TOUCHDOWN.      My daughter texts says, Is dad alive and did he see it or was it like the Johnson pick. Saw every step this time.

Crazy nervous until the Rapp pick.

    Talk about FANDEMONIUM!

  13. 67 years old, season ticket holder since 1979 and like you I am not sure I will get through today.

It is all in front of us and we have all been here before. Win and in at home, lose and could be done.

I am used to all this drama, I have had plenty of heartbreak but as much as I want this I fear that the 2 generations behind me will now start down the long road of heartbreak. My kids and grandkids are all super hyped and I want them to experience the 90's playoff excitement, not the SB losses.

    This is me right now…

Bills win, get #2 seed and are an unstoppable force to the SB

Bills lose, and this season is an abject failure the like that this 60 yo fan has never seen.

Both are perfectly legit thoughts occupying my brain right now. I love/loath being a Bills fan.
