  1. Yes this is true and not an April fools joke. He's really excited about the opportunity to be a Pastor. In today's Charlotte Observer:

Former NFL player named senior pastor

An athlete-turned-pastor whose name still resonates among Charlotte sports fans has a new job.

Frank Reich has resigned as president of the Charlotte campus of Reformed Theological Seminary to become senior pastor of Cornerstone Presbyterian, a 70-member Associate Reformed Presbyterian congregation at 9925 Providence Road West in the Ballantyne area of Charlotte. His ordination/installation is set for April 23.

Reich, 44, was named seminary president in 2003. He's still best known to many as the former University of Maryland and NFL quarterback who once played for the Carolina Panthers.

    Why the move?

"I just have a tremendous burden and urge to teach and preach and shepherd," Reich said. "I just want to be on the front lines."

  2. But Simpson had that interception in the Jets playoff game that preserved a win that would have gone down as one of the worst choke jobs in the NFL playoff history, just adding to the Bills great reputation.

For that one pick, and one pick only, ole Billy Simpson is my favorite

Ha Ha - take THAT X!

  3. I've always said that being called a great come from behind QB isn't so great, because the team fell behind while you were in the game.  I usually argue this in the context that the greatest comeback would never have taken place if Kelly had started instead of Reich, because the Bills would never have been down 35-3 with Kelly in there.

Oh I forgot Frank played defense too. He let Warren Moon light us up in the first half.

    dumbass

  4. Sorry.....it's an inside joke at work when one of the maintenance crew has to drive to Bolivar to fix something. I always snicker when I drive past the exit on my way to #89's house,  Even funnier though is when they have to drive to Shinglehouse, PA.  :P

Yeah, they do have one stop light and fifty bars in town.

  5. I know more people from Buffalo living in the Charlotte region than I did in Buffalo!

Charlotte is a bankers town, lots of suits uptown. For fun, hit Discovery place uptown. You can catch a baseball game just south of Charlotte in Fort Mill. The Knights play in a nice stadium, very clean and reasonable ticket prices. If you like NASCAR, check out the Concord, NC area for all the race team shops. Two of my favorite day trips from Charlotte are Charleston, SC and Blowing Rock, NC. Charleston has alot of history, great food and things to do. Blowing Rock is a quaint resort town in the mountains off the Parkway.

    Hope this helps.

  6. My whole point was that I'm not pissed about it, but I'm just surprised at how many people are excited that we got a THIRD round pick for a 1400+ yard running back....

    Steve,

Do you think Shawn Alexander and Edgrin James are better running backs? I do. And guess what, they are not getting better offers to play elsewhere.

Something for nothing is good. I applaud TD for sticking to his guns.

  7. Thurman Thomas was great when I met him six years ago. Let us take pictures with him and signed everything. He even put me in a headlock because I was wearing a Jim Kelly jersey - not his!

Frank Reich is great about signing things. Don Beebe and Carlton Bailey are very approachable.
