At the end of the day, this game comes down to Josh Allen's ability or inability to win it.
-
Please, run the ball more. Offense looks like Chuck and Duck the Oilers used to run. Not good.
-
Not today. Football is a field position game. McDermott's poor decision making helped hang the L on the Bills.
-
Go for it from the 35 on 4th down
Go for it from the 50 on 4th down
From the 35. Trust Bass. Field Goal Try
From the 50 Trust Your D, Pin Pittsburgh Deep,
Instead his decisions gave Pittsburgh good/great field position twice.
Why? He knows as well as anyone the significance field position and momentum plays, If Bass makes the kick, that is a huge boost for the Bills. Punt from the 50 and play D. Pittsburgh is not KC on offense.
Even with McDermott's field position gifts, the Bills D only gave up 16 points. Good enough to win.
If he coaches better, and plays field position, they most likely give up less.
Too much Coaching to be a hero.

Reminds me of the Chuck and Duck,

The Bills were in control of the game. Then McDermott gave the Steelers good field position twice. Once on the 35 and once on the 50. That turned the game. Try the field goal from the 35. Bass has a big leg. If he makes it, that gives the Bills a big boost. The one from the 50, punt the ball deep. Make Pittsburgh go the length of the field.
And the blocked punt was horrendous at the professional level.
McDermott needs to own up to the loss and start believing in the process instead of trying to be a hero with his "go for it Coach" calls.
The players on the other side are good too. Coach smart. Terrible game from Mcdermott

McDermott's L. Go for it Coach...Go for it. ! No, if anything try the FG from the 35. The second one, punt it deep from the 50 Turned the game. Poorly coached. Also the PUNT TD is high school stuff. Perhaps McDermott needs to "trust the process".

Despite the round the clock trolls that live on this board to make sure there's 3 anti Tyrod posts for every post supporting him the fact is even if they are looking for better they understand they could do a lot worse. There are coaches, offensive minded coaches, who I think really get QB play. I don't think we have one of those coaches and Daboll is no QB guru. We can draft whoever and we can bring in whoever but it is my opinion that we have a coaching staff that will at best get lucky if it gets the passing game into the top 15 in the NFL. If we are lucky we get back into the top 15 in scoring and if it does happen it will be on the ground with rushing TDs.
I agree and would only add that every position gets evaluated. If the Bills find a better option at any of them - they take it if the price is right. My personal opinion is the Bills believe Tyrod has reached his ceiling. He is what he is. There is no next level for him. The Bills know what they have with him, and they don't think he is their best option at the position.
As a fan, I think they are right. -
I tell GM its your turn. We can all speculate on players, but ultimately it will be his plan based on his ideas. Draft well. The Bills need to draft well every year to sustain success. It is the cheapest way to add good players to the team. Last year we added White, Dawkins, Milano. All good players. If Jones pans out that makes 4 good players out of 6 drafted.
That is a good draft. We need a couple more just like it.

How did they score?
NO with their top backs stuffed twice as well.
Yes, but they attempted it. Dennison will be fired. One of the reasons why is because he did not.

Is it. How did fournette and the No 1 running offense do? Took the pass didnt it.
How did that work with Jax?
Fournette got 21 touches. Jags tried to RUN first. Pay attention.
-
When you are built to run...you run or at least attempt it. Instead Rico and TT got cute and Bills paid for it. Run from the 1 with a mediocre passer.

The play was a RPO, Tyrod called the pass.
Do not give Taylor option in that situation. Run the ball. At least twice. Tyrod proved over and over he can not get it done in. That's on the OC.

Anybody who can rationalize that on 1st and goal from the 1 you pound the rock and you keep pounding it if you do not get it. Team was built to run the ball...run it.

Winning, stability, weather, culture, money, the city, and recruiting all make a difference.
-
Best Chance - Get the Jags in throwing situations and get after Bortles. If Fournette gets going, Bills will lose.
-
Bills will not be able to move the ball consistently. JAGS D real good. Give up the points and ride Fournette. Jags cover. 20-6 :{
I live in Jax and am a Bills Lifer. Marrone is going to put Bortles on short leash and ride Jags D and Fournette. Take the under too.

Their offense without the running game is garbage with a side of interceptions.
If we can scheme us to shut down their run and force bortles to pass to win, Bortles will throw a few back breaking picks to poyer, hyde, and tre white.
Comes down to shutting down their run, and the bills offense having enough chunk yardage plays off an uncharacteristically prolific air attack. Hoping our OC studies what the seachickens did vs the jags and emulate it since he has the store brand verson of RW with TT.
Protect the ball, force Bortles arm to beat you, find a run game and get TT in groove passing the ball with clay, o leary, and benjamin to counter their top CBs.
McCoy is our best player. Period. Without him Tyrod has to play like Joe Montana or channel his inner spirit animal 2012 version of Joe Flacco to win with no run game and a ballhawking top flight 2ndary
Yes. On point.

This is just a marketing ploy by him to get his name out there. Delete him.

Simple game plan. Shut down Fournette. Get to Bortles. Fournette is going to get at least 25 touches. Jags will try and hammer Fournette right at the Bills. This is a bad matchup for the Bills offense. Jags have two very good m2m corners. Bills will need a big game from Clay, a couple turnovers and a big play on special teams to have a chance.
-
Fellas,
I am a life long Bills fan living in Jax. Jags fans will be there. They sold out their chunk of tickets in less than an hour. Our best chance is to force Bortles into some bad throws. We will need some turnovers and maybe a great special teams play to win it.
Fournette is a powerful back. They are going to try and ram him down the Bills throats. The talk should be about stopping Fournette and making Bortles beat the Bills. Keep in mind, Bortles went to UCF. not Florida. Miami, or Florida State.
Our D has to get to him and force him to make some bad throws. Jags D is for real. They rush passer well, and have two exceptional corners.Go Bills,

Not necessarily, but what difference does pass protection make if Tyrod wont throw the ball down the field?

Kim's Honey Do List For Terrence:
1. Fix the Sabres - they stink
2. Buy a QB for the Bills
3. Fix Instant Replay for the NFL
4. Take me Yachting

Who needs Gronk? We got Spiller and Troupe in that draft!

Yes, MCDLT fumbled against the PATS too. 4th and 1. Go. End of story. Coach to win - not to stay in the game.

Is a FG a bad play? McDermott seems to think so. This is the second game he has cost the Bills because he would not kick a field goal to help his team out. Aggressive is one thing. Stupid is another.
