Some of us on this board will remember it was so bad with the Bills.

    This was a catch phrase...

" What the heck, why not Dufek"

    😑

Joe Dufek. A name lost to history 😂😂😂.

i mean can we all admit the the Bills had many bad quarterbacks! Many. Here’s a better question…How many Bills bad quarterbacks would be on the list if they played for other teams. 😂

there’s so many.. Dufek, Totten, Ferragamo, and the others listed here.

  2. Dorsey took the fall, but I would love to see how cohesive the offensive side of the ball is from the staff.

The rest of the staff is part of this with McDermott failing to be on the same page as his OC and GM

Joe Brady is/was Allen's QB coach.  Why has he not been able to have Allen perform at a high level did like Dorsey did when he was the QB coach?

Don't you think he has a part to play in all this?

    Same with the position coaches?

For an organization to function there needs to be alignment from the GM on down

GM/Head Coach - Determine style of play/Philosophy needed to win in a modern  NFL game

GM - Pick players that Match style of play

Head Coach - Install philosophy and style of play into all 3 parts of the game - set the tone

(*** There seems to be a disconnect between Head Coach and OC - and their was when Daboll was here too***)

OC/DC/ST (Coach the  philosophy based on style of play and talent available)

(*** There seems to be disconnect here too, especially with QB Coach and former OC ****)

Staff Coach - (Coach positions to play within style of play)

WHATEVER is going on behind the scenes is messing with our players heads and there is something unhealthy in the organization's dynamics that wasn't there the last few years that there is now.

McDermott has never had to be accountable to poor performance over time because in 2017/2018 we were rebuilding (low expectations) and in the last few years we've been one of the best teams in the league.  This is the first time he's had an extended period of poor performance with a team that has talent and high expectations. The rest of the season will be a first time experience for him and we've already seen him start to have cracks in the armor.  His number one superstar has either tuned him out or is so FUBARed by his coach so it will be interesting on how this plays out.

I also don't think that him being a DC has kept him away from being an effective HC but who knows.

  3. First they need to decide they want to be on offense. Watching the play calling and schemes by KC last night and the Eagles O-line, I kept thinking our staff and front office has an asset they don’t know know how to put a true structure and identity around. they don’t know what they are.

We have a defensive mind head coach who still thinks you win with defense and uses Jedi mind tricks to convince the GM that we need to invest in more defensive players.

Watching last night it seemed like that is what the modern NFL looks like.

a lot for our front office to learn from KC. We seem to still be a step behind.

  4. Watching his post game news conference he seemed just utterly defeated. You could see it in his eyes. I hope he takes a good break, refocuses with his QB coach and maybe some sports psychology. His body language was off all season.

I do think they need to really assess the OC position. They got someone Allen trusted when they really need someone to hold Josh accountable. Daboll did that. Comes with experience.

After that Green Bay game it seemed to always be push pull with those two.

I’m not sure running it back for continuity’s sake is gonna work unless Beane acknowledges it was lack of talent on the OLine and Wide Receiver that held them both back.

I can’t help but think we need a coordinator that won’t waste Josh’s prime years.

  5. Here is a possible, fair, common sense approach and one that if Zac Taylor, Andy Reid, and Sean McDermott were to make if all things ended equal: (this would not happen). These would be matchup specific. Give the bye to the Bengals. They beat KC and they didn’t get the game with Buffalo in.
Now, Cincy is gifted the bye.

Cincy travels to Chiefs if they meet up due to Chiefs better record.

Bills travel to Cincy if they meet up due to Cincy not getting to play the Monday night. I’m sure the Bills would agree to this. (Goodwill.). NFL ensures 50 percent of tickets go to Bills fans.

Chiefs travel to Buffalo if they meet up. (Head to Head.)

This to me would be a fair and common sense way to do it because it gives each team an opportunity to host.

    Flame away!

  6. it's the WORST. I tried to buy something and gave up.  it also doesn't give you a way to see your shopping cart. You have to add an item to see it. then take out the item you added so you can see what's in your cart. it's horrible. How these vendors get business is beyond me.

Its difficult enough for someone who's good at offense to rebuild, an Andy Reid  when you strip all of its talent, a guy who knows what to look for in an offensive player and knows his vision for the offense.

Its exponentially more difficult when you're trying to do it with 2 rookie talent evaluators, with no track record, whose forte is the other side of the ball.

Starting with the D first makes it that much worse.

Carrying the "we want our guys" just adds more to the steep hill they've chosen to climb.

"We know better than everyone else" makes it pretty insurmountable.

A few extra late round draft choices aren't going to help this offense. These guys aren't going to be picking up many late round gems for the O. Nor will a ton of cap space, when they haven't shown the ability to identify talent on that side of the ball.

And you're right...it didn't need to be like this.

Out of the "rebuilds" on the O, this might have been one of the easier ones for the drought teams.

They chose the most difficult path.

    This.
