what is this I just heard about they can leave in 15 years if they pay for the demolition?

After 15 years in the new stadium, the amount the team would have to pay back to NYS and Erie County will start to decline.  If they move at any time during the lease they will ALSO have to pay to demolish the stadium.  All this, plus the NFL relocation fees means they ain't moving.

I actually don't doubt it.  I'm guessing you play at BetOnline with a Hud?  You can print money that way.

As for your question about why 7 to 1 is a bad price, you can search for how sportsbooks make a killing off the futures markets.  If they're laying 7 to 1, I guarantee the fair price (based on current knowledge of the teams) using their computer algorithms is at least 10 to 1.  If you do the math and add up the prices for all 32 teams in the Super Bowl futures market*, you'll find out that the sportsbook is basically charging a vig of 50% whereas on a regular point spread bet, they're only charging a vig of 10%.

    * Because we know in a perfectly fair market, all the probabilities should add up to 1

I actually use FanDuel.  I placed a wager on one of their spread the love promos and playing with house money so to speak.  Might have to look into BetOnline...

sure, but as long as degenerates are willing to bet this early, the sportsbooks will lay out some bad lines for them to bet into

7 times the money is a bad line for the favorite?  I fail to follow your logic...

why?  that number was going to still be available in September.   you just loaned the sportsbook money interest-free for no reason.

They might make a bit if interest from my wager, but I guarantee I make more from their site playing Texas hold em.

If the Highmark lease expires in 2023 and a new stadium would not be ready until 2025 at the earliest, would the Bills just renew year-by-year @ Highmark or just play somewhere else, i.e. Toronto ?

The public quite is that the team will not renew their lease without a stadium deal in place.  I take that to mean they will renew as long as a deal is in place, but it will be transferred to the new stadium when the time comes.

I don't have all the answers but giving money to museums and parks are a benefit to the community. Giving a billion dollars to a multi billionaire so his company has a nicer office is different to me.

But the Bills are a benefit to the community, and NY.  In fact, probably more so because player salaries are taxed in NY because that is where the money is earned.  Plus there's the whole civic pride thing...

  6. That's a fair point that has been discussed since stadiums have been built.  Along the same thought, why give money to museums and parks when their economic impact is minimal?  Why give businesses tax "incentives," to locate in new York? Also keep in mind that the Pegulas went with a lowe seating capacity and cheaper stadium after the pandemic hit.  I firmly believe they will pay a good bit of the cost but I also believe NY will kick in as well.

Does this guy not realize that building down town would be more expensive and require an even larger subsidy? The Pegulas chose Orchard park because it was the mist economically sound place to build.  For this guy to say "build it down town" and "Don't let the taxpayers help pay for it" in the same breath is just stupid...

Will this give more leverage to cities vs team owners threatening to leave? Or it's just that THIS one could be proven to have been negotiated in bad faith?

Dont most owners that want ti move their team negotiate in bad faith?  I thought that was standard procedure...

  9. I wouldn't even consider it a hot seat for it least a couple years.  I honestly think that he and Beane knew about these issues last year but couldn't find a suitable fix during the off season either because trades fell through, no cap space, or players they wanted weren't available in the draft.  Give them a chance.  We are still loads better then most of the other teams I've had the "privelidge" of watching in my 13 years as a dead on ticket holder
